Chapter 254 Ethan Pleads for Beatrice

Lillian chuckled and asked, "What's wrong with being disobedient in a dream? As long as you listen to me in reality, it's fine."

Alexander wrapped his arm around her and nestled his head on her shoulder, nuzzling like a puppy, making Lillian laugh uncontrollably.

"Honey, what bad things has Blake done? Was he also behind the attack on Oscar?" After their playful moment, they chatted, and Lillian asked.

Alexander said, "Yes, everything that happened to Oscar was his doing. The person who pushed you was Cynthia, whom he bribed." He comforted her. "Honey, it's all in the past. Stop getting angry over it."

"That's easy for you to say. How can I not be angry knowing all this? He almost killed Oscar and nearly harmed our baby. How can he be so evil?" Lillian asked in disbelief. "Is he your brother? Although you have different mothers, the difference is too great!"

"You're too angry. Think about it. He didn't end up well either. He intended to harm you but ended up causing Ainsley to lose her baby." Alexander said. "Justin ordered that he and Beatrice should leave Rihegde, and Blake is no longer a member of the Sinclair family. All his shares in the company have been taken back. This punishment is enough."

"Justin made the decision. I thought they would be reported to the police for their crimes." Lillian was a bit disappointed, but she also understood that family feuds in wealthy families were not that simple.

"I know the principle of not airing family grievances in public, and I also know that if the family's internal strife gets out, the stock market will fluctuate, which is bad for everyone," Lillian asked him. "Honey, am I right?"

Alexander nodded silently and then comforted her, "I know you're not satisfied, but think about it. Although Blake is arrested and imprisoned for three to five years, he would still be a member of the Sinclair family when he gets out. It wouldn't affect him at all. Maybe he wouldn't even be imprisoned for that long. Wouldn't that be too easy for him? Only by taking away what he cares about can we give him the greatest punishment."

"Honey, I'm not dwelling on it. Oscar is fine now, and I won't add to my troubles. I'm complaining to you," Lillian said nonchalantly.

She continued, "However, I don't think Ethan will watch Beatrice leave, right? He likes Beatrice so much. How can he bear it? Honey, what do you think?"

"What does it matter what I think? In the end, Justin makes the decision," Alexander despised Ethan in his heart and said. "In terms of marriage, he hasn't set a good example for me!"

"However, you didn't follow Ethan's example. Look. You did much better than Ethan," Lillian praised him generously.

Alexander smiled and remarked, "Thank you for the compliment."

As they were talking, Lillian's phone rang. She picked it up and said to Alexander, "It's Aunt Lisa. There's no need to ask. She's calling us to come back."

She answered the call and heard Lisa happily asking, "Lillian, you haven't been back for a long time. When are you and Alexander coming back? Come back tomorrow. If you don't, Camille will be starting work soon."

"Aunt Lisa," Lillian's ears hurt from her high-pitched voice, so she moved the phone away a bit and said. "I'll ask Alexander."

Alexander said, "If you want to go back, I'll go with you. You haven't rested well these past few days. Will it be too tiring?"

"Alexander!" Lisa Coleman's voice came through the phone again, shouting, "Come back tomorrow. We won't let Lillian do any work, so how could she be tired? Come back for a meal. Harry misses you both."

Lillian covered the phone and whispered, "Let's go back. If we don't, Aunt Lisa will keep calling and texting me."

He agreed, "No problem. If you want to go back, then let's go back."

After finishing the call with Lisa, they lay down for a while. Then Alexander went to take a shower, and Lillian logged onto a forum to check her posts.

It had been a while since she last visited, and the thread was still full of people urging her to update. She read the comments and then posted about her recent experiences, ending with a note: [I'll update the comic in a couple of days.]

Alexander came out of the bathroom and saw her engrossed in reading, so he leaned over to see what it was.

"We've been getting along well lately," he read aloud.

Lillian was startled and quickly closed the tablet, turning to him and shouting, "Who told you to peek!"

Alexander curiously asked, "Honey, what kind of post are you reading? Is it about relationships?"

"Yes, it's a relationship forum. I browse it when I'm bored to pass the time," Lillian's voice was a bit nervous.

"Read it for fun. Some of it is made up," Alexander said indifferently. "Don't read those posts about divorce and mistresses. It's not good for our son."

"How do you know? Do you read them, too?" she asked, puzzled.

Alexander scoffed and asked, "It's not surprising to know these things."

Seeing him sitting with his back to her, Lillian unlocked the tablet again, said goodnight to the forum users, and logged out.

"Let's sleep." Alexander lay down and said. "Tomorrow, we'll go home first, then to Aunt Lisa's."

Lillian asked, "When is Lucas coming back?" Jackson took the little one back to school on break. Ainsley's health had been improving, and she wanted to spend more time with Lucas. Lucas didn't mind and was happy to go.

Alexander replied, "Jackson told me he'll be back tomorrow."

Lillian remarked, "Blood is thicker than water. Spending time together naturally improves the relationship."

He said, "You're right. That's exactly how it is."

In the study, Ethan sat across from Justin, quietly watching him. He came to plead for Beatrice, requesting not to be expelled from Rihegde and to keep the branch company Blake was managing, but to separate it from the Whale Group, so they would no longer be business-related. He still cared for Beatrice, knowing it would be hard for her to leave her home at her age.

"Dad, what do you think?" Ethan finally couldn't hold back and asked.

Justin, holding a book, finally shifted his gaze from the pages to Ethan, then sneered and tossed the book lightly onto the table, saying, "You like Beatrice, don't you? You're always thinking about her."

Ethan smiled bitterly and replied, "Yes, Beatrice and I are truly in love. She was unlucky in meeting me, so I have to do something for her."

"It is possible to let them stay in Rihegde, but the company cannot be given to them," Justin made a slight concession and said. "This is the consequence of your youthful mistakes, and no one should bear the responsibility for your errors."

'It was the best outcome for Blake and Beatrice to stay. It would be easier for me to take care of them.' Ethan thought, 'Even without the company, I would still provide Beatrice with a comfortable life.'

Ethan remarked, "Thank you, Dad."

Justin looked at Ethan coldly, said nothing, and waved him out.
