Chapter 428 Okay! Boyfriend!

Wendy felt dizzy. "What did you say? Speak up."

"Never mind if you didn't hear it," Caspian said.

But Wendy wouldn't let it go. She stopped walking, held his hand, and swayed coquettishly. "Say it again, I'll listen carefully."

Caspian looked down at her. She tilted her little face slightly, her bright eyes full of expectation, smiling at him like a blooming flower. At that moment, he was infected by her smile, genuinely liking her, thinking she was the most wonderful girl in the world.

He didn't speak but answered with action. He gently held her shoulders, lowered his head, and planted a light kiss on her lips.

Caspian didn't know why he impulsively kissed Wendy. He only knew that when he touched her soft lips and tasted her fragrance, his heart pounded nervously, wanting more.

In that instant, he confirmed his feelings.

Wendy felt his cool, soft lips touch hers, like being struck by lightning. Her ears buzzed, her heart raced, and she stared at him, unable to make a sound.

'Caspian kissed me? He kissed me? Oh my God!' Wendy's mind was in chaos, repeatedly thinking this, both happy and astonished.

"Caspian," Wendy sobered up a bit and asked, confused, "Why did you kiss me?"

Caspian leaned down, casually asking, "Why do you think I kissed you?"

Their faces were inches apart, and Wendy saw her shy and flustered expression in his eyes.

Instinctively, she tilted her head back slightly, covered her mouth with her hand, blinked her big eyes, and shook her head vigorously, mumbling, "I don't know!"

Caspian smiled gently at her, lightly pulling her hand down. "Didn't you ask if I was happy? You didn't hear my answer, so I showed you with action."

Wendy looked at him blankly and said, "You mean you're happy? Then what does the kiss mean?"

Her heart pounded wildly, and she had a strong feeling that something was about to happen.

Caspian stepped forward, reached out, and hugged her, letting her head rest on his chest.

"Wendy, do you still like me?" he asked softly.

Wendy heard his strong heartbeat in her ear. Following her heart, she said, "Yeah, I still like you!"

Caspian smiled happily, hugging her tighter, and asked excitedly, "Then, would you be my girlfriend?"

"I can't answer that. You haven't said if you like me yet."

Caspian, a bit embarrassed, said, "I realized I kind of like you. I want us to try dating. What do you think?"

Wendy licked her lips and asked, "Will you be devoted to me? Am I still less important than Evelyn in your heart?"

"Wendy, I see Evelyn as just a friend now. You have to believe me," Caspian explained seriously. "If we're dating, I'll take our relationship seriously and won't take advantage of your feelings. Trust me, okay?"

Hearing his words, Wendy cried with excitement, feeling like she had finally seen the light after a long wait.

"Caspian, I hope you keep your word. If we're dating, treat me well. I will do the same for you!"

Caspian smiled, helped her up, and bent down. "I promise!"

Wendy couldn't help but cry loudly as if venting all the grievances she had suffered from him.

Her crying drew the attention of passersby. Caspian quickly covered her mouth, pulled her aside, and coaxed her, "Stop crying, or someone might call the police!"

Wendy sniffled and asked in disbelief, "Am I dreaming? Did I hallucinate from drinking? Was everything you said real? I'm so afraid it was all a dream!"

"Wendy, your words make me hurt," Caspian kissed her forehead and said, "It's all real: I like you, I want to be with you, hugging you, kissing you, all real. Most importantly, my feelings for you are the truest!"

"Me too." Wendy hugged his neck and embraced him.

They returned to the hospital room. Jessica was already asleep. Patrick saw Wendy's flushed face and smelled the alcohol, frowning. "How much did you drink?"

"Dad, I didn't drink much. I was just happy," Wendy said, lying contentedly on the couch.

Caspian, feeling a bit guilty, said to Patrick, "Patrick, Wendy only drank to celebrate Jessica's successful surgery. Please don't blame her."

"It's fine, as long as she didn't drink too much," Patrick said.

Seeing it was late, Caspian said, "Patrick, I'll head home now. I'll come back tomorrow."

"Caspian, help her lie down properly. If she sleeps like that, she'll have a stiff neck in the morning."

A good night's sleep.

Wendy was woken up early by the birds outside. She squinted at the window and turned over.

"Wendy, it's all real. I like you, and I'll treat you well!" Wendy's eyes snapped open, her mind echoing with those words.

She sat up abruptly, trying to recall if it was real or a dream, thinking hard about what happened last night.

The ward door suddenly opened. Caspian came in with breakfast. Seeing Wendy sitting there in a daze, he glanced at the inner room, then sat on the couch, smiling and whispering, "Sweetheart, did you sleep well last night?"

"What?" Wendy said, "So, it wasn't a dream? We're really in a relationship?"

"How could you forget after one night?" Caspian asked.

Wendy's eyes rolled as she thought, "You said you like me and will treat me well."

Her heart blossomed, her cheeks flushed. "You did say that, right? I didn't remember wrong?"

"Yes," Caspian said, drawing out the word, then tapped her head, pretending to be stern. "Don't forget what I say to you again."

"Okay! Boyfriend!" Wendy said happily, hugging his arm and resting her head on his shoulder, giggling.

Patrick called from inside, "What are you two whispering about? Wendy, get up."

Wendy quickly replied, "Nothing, I'm getting up now."

Caspian took the breakfast inside first.
