Chapter 312 Caspian's Fracture

Evelyn drove Amos home.

On the way, they chatted, and Amos joked, "Mr. Wade didn't seem to drink too much tonight, no drunken mishaps."

Evelyn curled her lips but said nothing.

Seeing her indifferent reaction, Amos smiled. His phone buzzed with another message, and he quickly replied.

"Why are you so busy today? Why do people keep calling you nonstop? Is it something related to work?" Evelyn glanced at him and asked.

Amos said, "Don't worry. It's nothing important."

"So there is something?" Evelyn asked, "What's going on at the company?"

Amos gave her a reassuring smile and said, "Honey, don't worry, it's just minor stuff. I'll handle it. Don't you trust my abilities?"

Evelyn looked at him skeptically, then shrugged and said, "Alright, since you say so, I have to believe you."

Amos smiled and thought to himself, no rush, take it slow.

Angela drove into the underground parking garage. They got out of the car and walked towards the elevator.

"Dr. Turner, which building do you live in? I'll walk you there," Theodore said gentlemanly.

Angela said, "Building B23."

"What a coincidence! I live in Building B23 too," Theodore said in surprise, "I live in Unit 5, Apartment 1602."

Angela slowly turned her head to look at him, "No way? I happen to live in Unit 5, Apartment 1502, right below you!"

Isn't this coincidence a bit too much?

Theodore also found it unbelievable, "Really? You live right below me, what a coincidence!"

At that moment, perhaps 'coincidence' was the only word that came to mind.

They chatted as they entered the elevator, one pressed the button for the 15th floor, the other for the 16th, and the elevator slowly ascended.

"Mr. Wellington, sometimes I do aerobics at home. If it gets too noisy, let me know. Of course, I'll be mindful."

"I think, even if you live alone and make some noise, it's still better than a family of four," Theodore joked.

Suddenly, Angela's phone rang. It was Wendy calling.

"Wendy, are you home?"

Wendy cried on the phone, "Angela, come quickly, I'm at the hospital. We were in a car accident!"

Angela instinctively glanced at Theodore and then comforted Wendy, "Don't be scared, I'm coming right now. Which hospital? Are you okay?"

"Gracemist Hospital. I'm fine, just a few minor injuries. But Caspian is unconscious," Wendy's voice trembled with fear.

"It's okay, calm down, I'll be there soon."

She hung up and said to Theodore, "We need to go to the hospital. Wendy and Mr. Wade were in a car accident."

At the emergency room of Gracemist Hospital, Angela and Theodore rushed in. Wendy saw them, her tense nerves relaxed, and she started crying again.

A doctor came over and asked, "Who is the family member?"

Wendy stopped crying in Angela's arms and looked blankly at her and Theodore.

Theodore stepped forward and said to the doctor, "I am. What's the situation?"

"The patient has a fractured calf and needs surgery. Come with me to handle the paperwork," Theodore followed the doctor.

Angela gently patted Wendy's shoulder to comfort her and asked, "Where's the driver who hit you? How did it get so serious?"

Wendy sobbed, "I was the driver. I crashed into the barrier."

Angela nodded and calmly said, "Don't be scared, Mr. Wellington, and I will take care of it."

She looked at the bandage on Wendy's forehead and sighed in relief, "Good thing you're not seriously hurt."

"Caspian protected me at the critical moment," Wendy said sadly, "It's all my fault. If I hadn't been so careless, this wouldn't have happened."

"Alright, don't blame yourself. He'll be fine."

"Angela, he won't be crippled, right? If that happens, I'll be a sinner."

"He won't be. Caspian is so wealthy, even if he were crippled, there would still be plenty of women who like him. It won't affect his marriage."

The night passed quickly.

After Caspian's surgery, he was moved to a ward. Angela had also taken care of the police matters. Wendy, exhausted, fell asleep on the bedside, and Theodore dozed uncomfortably on the sofa. Angela quietly went downstairs to the cafeteria to buy breakfast.

It was Monday, a workday, and everyone's phone alarms started ringing in the ward.

Caspian was woken up, his swollen calf aching, and he grumbled, "Whose phone keeps ringing? Turn it off!"

Wendy sat up, rubbed her eyes, and seeing Caspian still had his eyes closed, she asked softly, "Caspian, you're awake?"

Caspian opened his eyes to look at her, then glanced at his leg in a sling, and sneered, "Good morning, Wendy, the expert driver!"

Wendy felt guilty, her eyes reddened, and she choked up, "I'm sorry, it's all my fault. You can scold me!"

"I should scold you! I told you not to do it, and now look what happened! Luckily, I was lucky enough not to die!" Caspian was angry, thinking about how close he came to losing his life.

Angela walked over and said to Caspian, "Wendy indeed did something wrong. You should scold her. But for now, calm down and have some breakfast. You'll need the energy to keep scolding."

"I don't want to talk to her at all" Caspian turned his head away.

Angela set the breakfast on the table and took another portion to Theodore, gently waking him up, "Get up and have breakfast. We have to go to work later."

Theodore, waking up from his sleep, looked at Angela dazely, with only one thought in his mind, 'She smells really good.'

A few seconds later, he came to his senses, sat up, and then said, "I'll go wash my face."

"Caspian, who will take care of you during the day while you're in the hospital? Should we notify your family?" she asked.

Caspian said, "Just have Marcus stay with me."

Marcus Powell was Caspian's driver.

"Caspian, I want to take care of you, but since we're of different genders, it's inconvenient. But don't worry, I'll come to see you after work. If you want anything, just message me on Facebook."

Caspian knew there was no point in getting angry at her now. He was already injured. Fortunately, they were lucky and nothing worse happened.

"Caspian," Wendy lowered her head, stirring the bowl with the spoon, and said softly, "Thank you for protecting me in that critical moment."

In her heart, she felt more awe than fear at that moment. The hidden spark of affection she had buried deep inside was also ignited.
