Chapter 164 I'll Take You to a Good Place

Once they got in the car, Alexander buckled her seatbelt but didn't move back. He just stared at her.

"What are you looking at?" Lillian asked, leaning back.

"Do you always call him Leo?" Alexander asked.

Lillian was surprised. "Leo? No, usually I call him Mr. Wilson. Does it bother you?" She smiled.

"From now on, call him Mr. Wilson only," Alexander said firmly.

Lillian chuckled. "Alexander, are you jealous?"

Her lips were so close, tempting him.

He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss. "Yes, I am."

Lillian blushed and tried to cover her mouth, but Alexander grabbed her hands.

"Remember, this is your punishment," he said. "Got it?"

Lillian nodded, still in a daze.

Satisfied, Alexander touched her face and then sat back.

Lillian's heart raced from the kiss. It felt amazing, but she wondered, 'Are we a thing now?'

"Alexander," she called out hesitantly.

He was focused on driving. "Yeah?"

"I wanted to ask you something, but..." She paused. "Never mind."

Alexander glanced at her and smiled. "What is it? Why'd you stop?"

Lillian shook her head. "It's nothing. I forgot."

They drove to the hospital, bought flowers and fruit, and headed to the ward.

"Debra," Lillian called softly as she walked into the room and saw Debra by the window.

Debra turned and smiled. "Lillian, what are you doing here?" She noticed Alexander behind her.

"Debra, this is my husband, Alexander Sinclair," Lillian introduced.

Debra smiled. "You're here to visit me. That's so sweet."

Alexander placed the flowers on the windowsill. Lillian said, "Why didn't you tell me you were in the hospital? I heard from Lola."

"I didn't want to worry anyone," Debra said weakly. Seeing Alexander, she added, "Mr. Sinclair, please sit."

Alexander nodded. "You two chat. I'll wait outside."

"Don't go too far," Lillian told him.

After he left, Debra sighed and held Lillian's hand. "I didn't believe it when Leo told me you were getting married. Even when I knew it was true, I couldn't accept it. I heard your husband is a big-shot CEO."

"Yeah." Lillian nodded. "Where's Leo?"

Debra replied, "He went home to cook for me. I can't stand hospital food."

In the corridor, Leo was carrying a lunchbox towards the ward. From a distance, he spotted Alexander, and his heart skipped a beat.

As he got closer, Leo saw Alexander sitting on a bench. Leo paused at the ward door, watching quietly. Through the glass, he saw Lillian by the bed, and his heart started pounding.

Alexander noticed him too. They locked eyes, and Leo spoke first, "Mr. Sinclair, what brings you here?"

"I'm here with Lillian to see Debra," Alexander replied, eyeing the lunchbox. "Go on in."

Leo hesitated but then entered the ward.

"Mom," Leo called out.

He focused on Lillian and smiled. "Lillian's here."

Lillian noticed Leo looked more worn out, likely due to Debra's illness. She smiled back. "How have you been?"

"Same as always. You look like you've put on a bit of weight," Leo said, his eyes sparkling but his smile a bit bitter.

"I've been good," Lillian replied. She turned to Debra. "Debra, eat up. I won't disturb you."

She pulled an envelope from her bag and handed it to Debra. "I didn't know what you could eat, so I didn't buy anything. Take the money and get yourself something nice."

"No, Lillian, I can't accept this," Debra protested.

Leo stepped in. "Mom, it's a kind gesture from Lillian. Just take it."

Reluctantly, Debra accepted the envelope.

"Take care of yourself, Debra. When you're better, I'll visit you at home," Lillian said, giving her a hug before standing up.

"Leo, see Lillian out," Debra suggested.

"No need, Alexander's waiting outside," Leo said, setting up a small table and lowering his head.

Lillian glanced at Leo and then said to Debra, "Don't worry about seeing me out. I'm leaving."

Outside the ward, Lillian saw Alexander on a bench, looking at his phone. She walked over and said, "You did well, staying close."

Alexander put away his phone, stood up, and took her hand. "I wouldn't dare not listen to my honey."

Lillian laughed. "You play the obedient role so well!"

"I'm just being honest," Alexander said seriously, squeezing her hand.

Lillian thought, 'Whatever our relationship status is, it doesn't matter. He's leading, and I have nothing to lose.'

After leaving the hospital and getting in the car, Lillian asked, "Should we go back to the office?"

"Where do you want to go? Anything you want to eat or do? I'll take you," Alexander said, starting the car.

Lillian thought for a moment. "I don't need anything. Kelly makes delicious food every day, so I don't eat out much. I have no destination in mind."

She added, "If there's nothing else, you can take me home, and then you can go back to work."

Alexander laughed. "Don't you want to spend any time with me? You're sending me back to work."

"You're so busy, and your time is precious," Lillian said.

"I have nothing to do today. I'll spend the whole day with you," Alexander said. "If you can't think of anything, I'll take you to a nice place."

"Where?" Lillian asked, curious.

"You'll know when we get there. If I tell you now, it won't be a surprise," Alexander said with a mysterious smile.
