Chapter 278 Blake Becomes a Hot Topic
Blake suddenly turned around, looking startled, and blurted out, "What are you doing here?"
Nico laughed, "Honey, shouldn't I be asking you that?" She glanced at Shae, "You didn't mention you were having dinner with Ms. Anderson tonight."
"My friend had something come up last minute, so I didn't play cards tonight.," Blake explained guiltily.
Nico pulled out a chair and sat down, asking with a fake smile, "So how did you end up meeting Ms. Anderson? If you had just told me, I wouldn't have been mad."
Blake felt cornered by her questioning and said unhappily, "I'm just out for dinner, and you keep interrogating me. What's your problem?"
"I don't mean anything special. Honey, why are you getting so angry? The more you react, the more it seems like you're guilty. Are you having an affair?"
"Don't talk nonsense!" Blake shouted, "Get out of here and go home!"
Nico was startled, and her smile disappeared, replaced by a stern expression. "You still say you're not cheating? Why are you yelling at me? It's because you're guilty!"
Their argument drew the attention of people around them. A waiter came over and gently reminded them not to disturb other diners.
Shae felt embarrassed as the surrounding diners speculated she was the mistress. She said to the two, "Mr. Sinclair, Mrs. Sinclair if you have issues, discuss them at home." She stood up, "I am leaving for home now."
"Where are you going? Are you thinking of escaping?" Nico grabbed her wrist, "Is it fun to seduce my husband? Since you couldn't seduce Alexander, so you go after my husband. Do you think I'll be like Lillian and not dare to confront you?"
Shae shook off her hand and said sternly, "Mrs. Sinclair, watch your words. I did not seduce your husband, he just invited me to dinner."
"That doesn't prove you didn't seduce him!" Nico said angrily.
Shae, equally angry, said, "The way you're talking, it seems like you want your husband to cheat. But sorry to disappoint you, I don't like your husband at all!" She finished, bumped Nico's shoulder, and walked away coolly.
Blake felt humiliated by Shae's words and was also angry, 'What's wrong with me that she doesn't like me? ' He glared at Nico, who was still cursing. It's all Nico's fault, ' if she hadn't come to make a scene, I wouldn't be in this awkward situation.'
Blake angrily slapped Nico hard across the face.
Before she could react, he slapped her again on the other cheek, knocking her to the ground.
"Are you following me?" Blake straddled her, slapping her while cursing, "Yes, I'm cheating. What can you do about it? You shameless woman, how dare you question me? Even if I have ten mistresses, you better keep your mouth shut!"
His outburst shocked everyone in the restaurant. Some people took out their phones to take pictures, some women screamed in fear, and some men stepped forward to intervene.
Andy ran over and helped Nico up. Seeing her swollen face, he asked with concern, "Are you okay? I'll take you to the hospital."
Nico's mouth was bleeding from the beating. She wiped it with her hand, tears streaming down her face, pointed at him, and said with deep pain, "Blake, you've finally shown your true colors! You're such a bastard, every extra day I spend with you makes me feel sick! I want a divorce!”"
Blake said indifferently, "You said it, don't regret it!"
Nico sobbed, feeling even more heartbroken at how quickly he agreed, so much so that she could barely stand.
The incident of Blake hitting someone in the restaurant quickly went viral on Instagram.
Lillian was lying on the couch and happened to see it. She watched the video in disbelief and shouted in surprise, calling Alexander over, "Blake made the news, honey.”
Alexander, not knowing what was going on, took the phone and watched the video, then said disdainfully, "That's unbelievable!"
Lillian watched the video again carefully and said, "Blake hit her pretty hard. After so many slaps, Nico's face must be swollen. What a scumbag!"
"What could have made him so angry?" Lillian wondered and opened the comments to read.
After reading through, she summarized to Alexander, "It appears that Blake was having dinner with another woman, and when Nico saw them, an argument ensued, leading to Blake hitting her."
Alexander said, "Stop watching it. It's nothing good. He's no longer part of the Sinclair family, so it has nothing to do with us."
"But it's already causing a stir. They're still saying the eldest son of the Sinclair family hit someone." Lillian showed him the phone.
"I'll have PR handle it tomorrow."
Alexander was already lying in bed and patted the pillow, saying to her, "Come to bed, honey."
Shae got home and saw people discussing the incident online. She also despised Blake for hitting his wife, clearly showing his guilt. This loser, only has a somewhat similar appearance to Alexander, but his character is far worse.
She went to the fridge, took out a can of beer, found an album, and curled up on the couch, slowly flipping through it.
The album seemed to be from many years ago, with frayed edges. The first page was a photo of the two of them in high school, a young Alexander and Amy, smiling brightly.
She gently caressed it with her hand and turned the pages. Every page was a photo of the two of them, from various places in the country to around the world, each capturing their radiant smiles.
Finally, her gaze settled on a photo of them standing barefoot on the beach, the villa serving as a picturesque backdrop.
"Of all the places we've been together, this is my favorite. This villa holds so many of our memories," Shae murmured, tears welling up in her eyes.
Two days later, it was the weekend. Early in the morning, Kevin had breakfast and went to pick up Lisa's family and Oscar. He brought them back by eleven.
Lisa got out of the car, glanced around, and said to Harry, "Harry, the life of the rich is nice. Look at this villa. Without Lillian, we could never live in such a house."
Harry, calm and composed, warned her, "Don't be rude later. Don't embarrass Lillian."
"I know," Lisa said impatiently.
Lillian was walking in the yard and saw them coming. She quickly smiled and greeted them, "Harry, you're here."
"Lillian, how have you been? You're about to give birth, so be careful," Harry said.
Lillian said, "Everything's fine."
Lisa saw Alexander coming out of the villa and rushed over, grabbing his hand and smiling, "Alexander, this place is nice. Thank you. I plan to stay here for a few more days."
