Chapter 153 Lillian is Kissed by Alexander

Alexander entered and immediately spotted Lillian, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he walked towards them.

"Why are you here?" Lillian asked, surprised and a bit nervous, standing up.

Alexander gently pinched her cheek, smiling softly. "You're pregnant now. I feel more at ease being by your side."

In front of her friends, his affectionate gesture made her heart race, and her face turned as red as a tomato. She smiled awkwardly. "Don't worry about me. I'm not a kid."

Since he was already there, she couldn't just send him away, so she invited him to sit next to her. She then introduced Alexander to Wendy and Angela.

But she was then shocked by Angela and Wendy's reaction. They were both staring at Alexander, looking completely shocked.

"Lillian, are you pregnant?" Angela, usually so composed, was stunned.

"Lillian, is it Alexander's baby?" Wendy, still adorably naive, immediately followed up.

Lillian cleared her throat and smiled. "Let me introduce you. Angela, Wendy, this is Alexander, my husband."

She then turned to Alexander and said, "I've told you about them. This is Angela, a doctor. And this is Wendy, who just got a new job."

Alexander nodded slightly. "Hello."

He was very gentle.

After getting acquainted, Alexander looked at the two and said, "Let me answer your questions. Yes, Lily is pregnant. We just found out, five weeks along. I am Lily's husband, so of course, the baby is mine." He smiled. "Any other questions?"

Lillian tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "They were just too surprised, that's all."

"I know. I'm not mad. Don't be nervous." Alexander reassured her, taking her hand. Noticing they hadn't ordered anything yet, he smiled and said, "What do you want to eat? Dinner's on me today."

Angela quickly composed herself and cheerfully said, "You must treat us today! You've been married to Lillian for years, yet this is our first meeting outside the police station."

Wendy picked up the menu and said to Alexander, "Lillian married you without a ceremony or notification. She's carrying your child. Please treat her well."

"Of course," Alexander replied. "Wendy, don't be shy. Order the expensive stuff."

It instantly broke the ice.

Wendy laughed. "Alexander, then I won't hold back!"

Angela and Wendy looked over the menu together, thinking, 'How did their relationship suddenly become so sweet with Lillian's pregnancy? What was going on?' With Alexander here, they couldn't ask, so they had to hold back their curiosity temporarily.

Lillian looked at Alexander, pulled her hand away, and asked, "Did you decide to come when I told you I had an appointment? No wonder you agreed so quickly and even told Grandma. She must think we have a date tonight."

Alexander smiled, took her hand, and gently caressed it. "If I told you, you'd get mad and not agree. I snuck along. Give me some dignity and don't get furious in front of your friends."

Lillian pouted. "How dare you."

"You couldn't before, but now you can throw a tantrum if you're mad at me. Let it out," Alexander whispered.

"Really?" Lillian looked at him, surprised.

They were so close they could see each other's pores and pupils, their gazes locked, breaths mingling. Alexander couldn't resist and kissed her.

Lillian's head tilted back slightly from the kiss. She covered her mouth and lightly hit him. "What are you doing?"

Feeling a tingle, Alexander teased with a smile, "That was my answer."

"You're so annoying." Lillian hit his arm twice more, then sat up straight, propping her elbows on the table and giggling silently.

Alexander was overjoyed. Her lips were soft and fragrant, making him want to kiss her again.

"Lillian, I think Wendy and I should skip ordering," Angela said sarcastically.

Wendy pushed the menu towards them. "You two decide what to order."

Alexander laughed. He took the menu and ordered two of Lillian's favorite dishes, then paid the bill.

Angela stared at them, paused, then told Alexander, "Mr. Sinclair, I know I have no right to say this, but I must speak to you."

"Angela, we're here to eat. Don't talk about those things, okay?" Lillian shook her head slightly at her.

Alexander said, "Angela, I understand. Lily and you grew up together and are close. You must have heard everything about us from her. Past events were my fault. Now I'll aim for excellence."

His words reassured them.

Since Alexander had said that, Angela couldn't say anything more.

"Mr. Sinclair, you're a businessman. I guess you are more aware than I do that integrity is important. I hope you can keep your word," Angela said solemnly.

"Of course!" Alexander agreed.

After Angela's question, it was Wendy's turn. The straightforward girl asked without hesitation, "So, are you being nice to Lillian now because of her or because of the baby?"

"Both reasons. I need to be good to Lillian and to the baby," Alexander replied.

"Who will you be better to?" Wendy pressed. "After all, you weren't nice to Lillian before."

Alexander pondered for a moment and then smiled. "Lily will always come first, and I'll be kinder to her."

"Really?" Angela and Wendy asked in unison, clearly skeptical.

Lillian quickly interrupted, "Interview time is over. Let's stop talking. The food is here."
