Chapter 127 This Is Her Fate
"Alright, Aunt Samantha," Shae agreed cheerfully and went to the kitchen with Samantha.
In the living room, Lillian sat beside Alexander, chatting with Ethan.
Ethan, concerned, inquired about the company's situation and then about their lives. Afterward, he shifted the conversation and said to Alexander, "What is this morning's entertainment financial news about? Which media outlet is it from? I don't want such blunders to happen again. Since you and Lillian have just gotten married, you need to be careful."
"Ethan, it is a new media company this time. The company has already asked the PR department to handle it. They are quite efficient," Alexander replied. He glanced at Lillian and smiled, saying, "Lily also knows I go to pick up Shae, so she doesn't misunderstand me."
Ethan was still not entirely reassured, saying to his son, "Alexander, when do you plan to make your married status public? Lillian is a girl of good character. She shouldn't have to suffer this injustice."
Lillian looked at Ethan, surprised that he would speak up for her. She had always thought he didn't care about his children's affairs.
Alexander's expression changed slightly, saying, "You don't need to worry about this. How could I let Lily suffer?" As he spoke, he took Lillian's hand and smiled, saying, "Lily understands me."
Lillian quickly played along and said to Ethan, "Ethan, Alexander is so busy with work right now. I don't want to distract him. Besides, I also want to improve myself and not fall behind."
"Good, young people should have ambition," Ethan said. "Alright, I won't worry about your affairs anymore. Just live your lives well."
After a pause, he sighed and continued, "Although I'm still angry with Blake and haven't forgiven him yet, Rena is carrying a child of the Sinclair family. Beatrice has been with me for so many years without a title, which hasn't been easy. Blake has come to me several times, begging for my forgiveness. There are no heartless parents, only heartless children. Seeing him so humble, it breaks my heart."
Alexander advised, "Dad, you've always cared for Blake. What he does to me because others mislead him. The last time Blake came to me, asking for forgiveness, I forgave him. Don't torment yourself. Forgive Blake."
"Alexander, do you really think so? He tries to kill you. Do you truly not hate him?" Ethan asked, probing.
Alexander smiled. "Everyone has moments of madness. Blake knows his mistakes and can change. I believe he will truly repent in the future."
'Will he repent?' Lillian sneered inwardly. He could harm his brother and curse his father behind their backs, such a treacherous person, would never truly repent, no matter how many times he was forgiven.
Ethan pondered for a moment and said earnestly to Alexander, "Alexander, compared to Blake, you are not ruthless enough."
"I'm not as ruthless as he is," Alexander said self-deprecatingly, "I just don't want to see you living in constant conflict."
Without speaking, Ethan shook his head, said no more, and changed the subject to other matters.
Alexander's face remained calm as he chatted with his father, but his mind was racing. It seemed Vincent Sinclair was inclined to forgive Blake.
In the kitchen, Samantha was brewing coffee. Shae stood beside her, smiling and asking, "Aunt Samantha, how are Lillian and Alexander getting along? Is Lillian good to you?" Samantha's face turned stern as she said harshly, "Shae, are you asking on behalf of Amy? Or are you trying to ruin Alexander's marriage for her? Tell you, you'd better put away your schemes. You're not qualified to play tricks in front of me!"
"Indeed, in terms of schemes, I can't compare to you," Shae said bitterly, "If it weren't for your strong opposition to Amy and Alexander, Amy wouldn't have died!"
Samantha looked at her with disdain. "That is her fate!"
"Fate? Are you talking to me about fate?" Shae sneered. "Indeed, we should believe in fate. You've always wanted to find a woman of your liking to marry Alexander. Have you found her? Ms. Hill's family background is not as good as Amy's. From the way she interacts with Alexander, there's no love between them, right? This situation is all because of you."
The state of Lillian and Alexander's relationship was indeed a sore spot for Samantha. Still, she smiled and said, "Shae, after a few years, I've come to realize that whether Lillian meets my expectations is not important. She's not the one living with me. What matters is whether she meets Alexander's expectations. As long as Alexander likes her, that's enough. After all, they are the ones who will spend their lives together."
"What's the use of thinking that way now!" Shae huffed. "Why didn't you think this way a few years ago? Now you've figured it out. Don't try to fool me. You're just saying this to make me angry."
It's you who loves to get angry," Samantha said with a smug smile. "Actually, At my age, it's beneath me to argue with a junior like you, but you lack manners and indeed need some discipline. Today, you're a guest, so let's not make things too awkward for each other."
Shae scoffed. "You've done so many embarrassing things. One more today won't make a difference."
"Before I pour hot water on your face, you'd better shut up!" Samantha warned, dropping her pretense.
Samantha's strong presence intimidated Shae, who was still too inexperienced to stand up to her.
Returning to the living room, Samantha smiled and asked, "What are you all talking about? You seem so happy."
Alexander replied, "Dad is excited because Grandfather and Grandmother are coming back."
"Yes, Ethan is like a child, eagerly waiting for that day," Samantha said, handing Ethan coffee.
Ethan laughed heartily and looked at Shae, saying, "It has been years since I last saw you, Shae. Do you have a boyfriend now?"
"Uncle Ethan, with my poor conditions, no one would be interested in me," Shae said coyly.
Ethan disagreed. "You're not poor at all. One of these days, I'll have Samantha introduce someone to you."
Samantha smiled and said, "I'm just worried that Shae won't like whoever I introduce to her."
"Of course not.Your taste is impeccable," Shae said with a fake smile.
"If you trust my taste, I'll keep an eye out for you," Samantha said with a cold smile.
Leaving Sinclair Villa, Samantha, as usual, pulled Lillian aside.
"Mom, I'm not pregnant yet, so don't worry," Lillian said before Samantha could ask. Samantha was so exasperated that she laughed. "This time, I'm not urging you to get pregnant. I want to tell you to pay more attention to Alexander's activities."
Lillian was puzzled. "Mom, did you see that news? Alexander is going to pick up Shae."
"Fool!" Samantha tapped her finger on Lillian's forehead. "Think carefully. Although I'm not satisfied with your marriage to Alexander, given the current situation, your relationship must not have any mistakes!"
