Chapter 301 Samantha and Beatrice Meet at the Hospital
Twenty minutes later, Beatrice and Ethan returned after seeing the babies. Back in the ward, they couldn't stop praising the children, their affection was genuine and sincere.
"The babies are well-behaved., the nurse said they didn't cry or fuss at all," Beatrice said with a smile. "It'll be easy to take care of them at home. They are here to repay the kindness in the world.."
Lillian smiled but said nothing.
"Lillian, are you planning to breastfeed? Nowadays, Young people don't prefer breastfeeding. With so much pressure in life, who has the energy to take care of babies waking up in the middle of the night?" Beatrice said understandingly. "Even though you're not working now and have a nanny to help, there are still physical and psychological changes after childbirth, your emotions can be quite unstable at times. I think the formula is just as good as breast milk."
"I'll breastfeed if I have enough milk, otherwise, I'll use formula," Lillian responded calmly.
Beatrice said, "Maybe it's not my place to say this, but you shouldn't devote yourself entirely to the family. You need your own life and social interactions. That way, you can keep up with Alexander and not fall behind, right?"
To be honest, Beatrice's advice was quite reasonable, and Lillian agreed.
"Beatrice, I understand what you mean. We have always walked together, never leaving each other behind," she said with a smile, though her eyes were cold.
Beatrice covered her mouth and laughed, "Look at me, saying the wrong thing. As long as you understand my intention."
On the sofa outside, Ethan and Alexander were having a conversation.
Ethan asked, "Alexander, how's your mother doing lately?"
"She is the same as before. She's been a bit happier since the grandchildren were born," Alexander said, he did not interfere in his parents' relationship matters, which he found distressing. So he didn't comment on whether Ethan was right or wrong.
Ethan said, "I haven't forgotten what I said before about giving shares to whoever has children first. I'll have Theodore handle it in a couple of days."
"Alright," Alexander said expressionlessly, not caring much about Ethan's shares.
"Alexander, are you still upset that I moved in with Beatrice?" Ethan asked sadly.
Alexander said, "I don't care about your affairs. At your age, you should do what makes you happy, and you can live wherever you like."
"I'm really glad to hear you say that," Ethan said, a bit emotional. "You should visit your mother more often."
Alexander said, "I'll take good care of Mom."
Suddenly, the door to the ward opened, and Samantha walked in, followed by Tom.
As soon as she entered, she saw Ethan and asked with a stern face, "Why are you here? Did you come with that bitch?"
Ethan frowned in displeasure, "Samantha, why do you have to be so mean and harsh?"
In the inner ward, Beatrice heard Samantha's voice and asked Lillian in surprise, "Didn't Samantha say she wouldn't come? I specifically asked Alexander to avoid her before coming with Ethan tonight."
Lillian shook her head in confusion as she watched Samantha storm in.
"Mom, you're coming!" Lillian greeted with a smile. "Tom, you're coming too."
"Lillian, congratulations! Having twins, that's impressive!" Tom said cheerfully, congratulating her.
Samantha stood by the bed, looking straight ahead, and asked, "Who invited you? What does Lillian giving birth have to do with you? Leave now!"
"Samantha, there's no need to be so rude. Lillian is Ethan's daughter-in-law, so she's like my daughter too. We're all family. Lillian giving birth is a wonderful thing, and I'm happy to come and see her. It's my duty as an elder," Beatrice said softly, in stark contrast to Samantha's domineering attitude.
Ethan walked over angrily and said to Samantha, "In front of the younger generation, you should act like an elder. As a grandfather, can't I come to see my grandchildren?"
After speaking, he turned to Lillian and said, "Lillian, take good care of yourself. Once you've recovered, bring the babies to Beatrice's house. We will leave now."
"Dad, you're leaving? Take care," Alexander said, seeing them off.
Samantha sat on the sofa, looking unhappy, and asked, "How long have they been here?"
"Not long, they just came to see the babies, and didn't say much else," Lillian said honestly.
Tom said, "Aunt, look at how scary you are. You're scaring Lillian. What's the big deal? With you being so fierce, how would Uncle dare to come back? Face reality!"
"Stay out of my way!" Samantha snapped, standing up. She said to Lillian, "I'm going to see the babies. Have a good rest."
"Come with me to see your nephews," Samantha called to Tom.
"I'm not going. The babies are so small, I can't even play with them. I'll see them when they're a bit older," Tom said lazily, leaning on the sofa.
After Samantha left, Alexander returned.
"Why did you come with my mother?" he asked Tom.
"Samantha was playing cards with my mom. They planned to play all night, but suddenly she said she missed her grandchildren. But the driver had already left, so I brought her here," Tom explained.
Lillian worriedly said to Alexander, "Honey, I think Samantha is really angry!"
"It'll be fine. She'll be happy once she sees the babies," Alexander said.
Beatrice and Ethan left the hospital and got into the car.
"Samantha is always like this!" Ethan said angrily. "She was like this when she was young, and she's still like this now, domineering and unreasonable!"
"Ethan, don't be angry. Samantha didn't say much. She doesn't like me visiting Lillian, so let's just not go in the future," Beatrice comforted him.
Ethan's chest heaved with anger as he said painfully, "The thought of being buried next to her after I die gives me a headache!" He held Beatrice's hand and said, "Beatrice, you're the best. Even after I die, I want to be with you."
Beatrice looked at him without speaking, her eyes showing a hint of grievance.
"I know what you're thinking. I will marry you!" Ethan said firmly.
Time flew by, and half a month passed. The two babies were growing well in the incubator and were about to come out. Justin had already chosen their names: the older brother was named William Sinclair, and the younger brother was named Henry Sinclair.
