Chapter 166 We Skipped All the Steps
Lillian didn't want him to know what she was thinking, so she said, "I'm not mad. I don't care about your past."
Alexander sat down, grabbed an apple, and took a bite. "You might not care about my past, but I'm curious about yours. How many relationships have you had? When was your first love?"
Lillian popped a grape into her mouth. "I'm pretty innocent. Never had a first love. After college, I joined the company, and then we got married by agreement. Do you count as my first love?"
Alexander smirked. "I'm not just your first love; I'm also the first guy you slept with. You need to realize how important I am in your life!"
She tilted her head, thinking, then shook it. "You're wrong. We never confessed to each other, so how can it be a first love? That term doesn't fit us."
She paused and added, "We skipped all the steps, and you directly became the first man I slept with."
Alexander smiled, thinking, 'If I confessed to you, would you really accept it?'
The silence stretching between them. She felt a bit annoyed, thinking she might have said something wrong, like hinting for him to confess.
Suddenly, Alexander's phone rang. He glanced at it and left the dining room. Lillian exhaled, tapping her head in frustration.
After a while, he came back and said, "Caspian called. He wants to visit and suggests moving the weekend gathering here. I agreed. No need to go back. Let's stay here for a few days."
"But I didn't bring any clothes, skincare products, chargers, and other stuff," Lillian listed a bunch of things. "Why not go back and come back on the weekend?"
"Caspian is on the way, and Evelyn might be too," Alexander said. "Write down what you need and send it to Kelly, then ask Kevin to bring it over."
"If Evelyn comes, we can't leave," Lillian said. "Alright, we'll stay here. What about Luke?"
"He has school. Let's bring him over on the weekend," Alexander said.
"Will he be upset?" Lillian worried.
"There's nothing we can do if he is," Alexander replied.
A bit later, Caspian and Evelyn arrived together and went to the supermarket to buy a lot of food.
Caspian said, "It's been years since we came here. We used to hang out here all the time."
Evelyn kicked him secretly and said, "How dare you mention the past? I'm embarrassed for you. Shut up."
"Alright, I won't say anything," Caspian quickly covered his mouth, pretending to be obedient.
Lillian found it amusing and curiously asked, "Mr. Wade, what exactly did you do before?"
Caspian, covering his mouth, shook his head and mumbled, "I can't say since my fiancée forbids it."
Alexander said, "Haven't you guys eaten? There are leftovers in the kitchen. You two can have those."
Evelyn stood up and walked towards the kitchen, asking, "Did Lillian make it?"
"No, Alexander did," Lillian said from behind.
Caspian and Evelyn both turned to look at Alexander, surprised, and asked, "Did you cook?"
"You guys are so surprised. Haven't you eaten his cooking before? Actually, it's my first time, too," Lillian said.
Caspian and Evelyn laughed. "Really, we haven't."
While they ate, Alexander asked Lillian in the living room, "Wanna watch the sunrise tomorrow?"
"Yeah, but I'm afraid I won't wake up. Will you wake me?" Lillian asked, fiddling with her phone.
"If you want, I'll wake you. Now, put your phone down and get some sleep," Alexander said.
"It's still early. I'm not sleepy yet. Mr. Martin hasn't come yet," Lillian said, glancing out the window.
Just as she spoke, a car pulled up and parked in front.
Kevin came in with a bag and said, "Ms. Hill, here are the things you asked for. Check if anything's missing."
"Thanks, Mr. Martin," Lillian said, starting to check the bag.
Kevin asked, "Mr. Sinclair, any other instructions?"
"Go back. For the next couple of days, pick up Luke. How was he when he got home today?" Alexander asked.
Kevin smiled. "He was obviously unhappy seeing you and Ms. Hill weren't home, but Kelly cheered him up quickly."
"Bring him over after school on Friday," Alexander reminded.
After Kevin left, Lillian took the bag upstairs and asked Alexander, "Are we sharing a room tonight?"
"What do you think?" Alexander took the bag from her hand. "Come on, let's go back to the room."
In the dining room, Caspian, eating the leftovers, said emotionally, "I didn't expect Alexander to cook."
"Yeah, he hasn't cooked since Amy passed away," Evelyn agreed.
Caspian said, "It seems he really likes Lillian."
"After all these years, it's time to start a new romance. Alexander deserves to be happy," Evelyn said. "Lillian is great and matches well with Alexander."
"Yes." Caspian nodded. "Actually, we also make a great pair."
"Can you let me eat in peace?" Evelyn asked irritably. "We won't work since I don't like you. When are we breaking up?"
"Our mom is sick and can't handle the shock. Wait a bit. Don't be cruel," Caspian said.
"We're not married yet, so she's your mom," Evelyn rolled her eyes. "You're just stalling. I saw your mom and Theodore's mom getting beauty treatments together the other day."
"Her health issues don't stop her from getting beauty treatments," Caspian retorted. "Just wait a bit longer. If you find someone you like, I won't hold you back."
Evelyn was annoyed by his playful attitude and didn't say anything out of frustration.
Evelyn washed her dishes but didn't wash Caspian's and went to fetch Lillian after their supper. Angered and helpless, Caspian mumbled, "Heartless. What's the big deal about washing another dish?"
Upstairs, Evelyn didn't know which room Lillian was in, so she called out her name in the hallway. Soon, a door opened, and Alexander came out with a stern face.
"Why are you shouting at this hour? Lily is sleeping," Alexander said.
"It's still early. Why is Lillian sleeping so soon?" Evelyn retorted.
"Early sleep is good for the baby. Don't bother her. She wants to watch the sunrise tomorrow morning," Alexander said.
Evelyn replied calmly, then noticed something was wrong and said, "What? Is Lillian pregnant?"
