Chapter 365 I'll Give You Ten Days

Wendy stood silently, her down, fiddling with the buttons on her clothes. To be honest, she never thought Caspian would say these things to her. She thought that after her confession failed, the most they would do when they met again was just say hello, and she didn't dare to think about whether they could still be friends.

"Caspian, you're not me; you can't understand how I feel," she muttered, pouting.

Caspian chuckled, "Wendy, I've experienced your kind of feelings many times. Evelyn's rejections are countless."

"Can men and women be the same? Can I compare to you?" Wendy turned around, leaning against the wall, avoiding his gaze.

"Right, men care less about being laughed at; that's indeed different," Caspian said in a neutral tone. "Girls are more afraid of awkwardness. This is your first confession, right? It's okay, just consider it a part of growing up!"

"Stop talking!" She covered her face, shouting in shame and anger, turning her back to him.

Someone came into the restroom, seeing the two at the door, assuming they were a couple in love, with one teasing the other.

Caspian said, "I won't say anymore. Turn around. Tell me, how long will it take for you to recover? I'll wait for you."

Wendy slowly turned around, a bit puzzled, and asked, "Do you care about our friendship?"

"Of course!" Caspian said seriously and earnestly.

"Then one month," Wendy said.

Caspian frowned slightly, "Isn't one month too long? That would be after the holidays. I wanted to take you out during the break."

He pondered for a moment and said, "I'll give you ten days to get your emotions in check."

"You always have the final say, so why ask me?" Wendy said, unconvinced but still compromising, "Alright, ten days it is."

Caspian smiled with satisfaction, raising his hand to ruffle her soft hair, "You are a good girl."

Wendy swatted his hand away, "Keep your distance!"

"Caspian, have you thought about it? If we continue being friends, aren't you afraid I'll keep liking you? Don't you think you're being unfair?" Wendy questioned him as they walked towards the private room.

Caspian glanced at her, giving a self-deprecating smile, "I'm just afraid that the longer we spend time together, the more you'll end up hating me! I'm not belittling myself; I'm being honest. Don't keep dreaming about us being together. Think of me as a brother. I'll also look around to see if there's a suitable guy for you."

Wendy pouted, "Don't worry, I'm not a stubborn person, and I won't always like you! Don't feel burdened."

"I don't mind; I'm just afraid of wasting your time. I'm relieved that you can see it this way," Caspian said as he pushed open the door to the private room.

Inside, the atmosphere was still lively.

Tom, for some reason tonight, was the one who lost control after drinking, and his style was similar to Caspian's, always cursing Evelyn and no one else.

"Evelyn, I know an eye doctor. Do you want to check it out?"

"Evelyn, I think your worldview is quite abnormal."

"Ms. Phillips, is your studio still running? Aren't you curious why so many people still collaborate with you despite your poor abilities?"

Tom shook his head at Evelyn in regret, "He's not smart either. What's the use of giving so much? You don't even know!"

Evelyn squinted her eyes slightly, looking at him. The fork in her hand was tightly gripped as if it would snap with a little more force. Her chest heaved with anger, and her molars were clenched.

She thought everyone was out to have fun, so she didn't want to argue with him. But Tom was pushing his luck and wouldn't stop!

"Tom, you've had too much to drink, stop talking!" Amos said with a stern face, clearly unhappy.

Seeing Amos speak to him, Tom started to curse Amos as well.

"Shut up, please! If I spill your dirty secrets, do you still want to live?" Tom said recklessly.

Amos said righteously, "I have a clear conscience. If you have any dirt on me, go ahead and spill it. I want to see what could make me unable to live!" His gaze was firm, but his hand under the table was tightly clenched into a fist.

"Tom! Don't go too far!" Evelyn stood up, shouting at him angrily.

Caspian said coldly to Tom, "Calm down. Everyone's having a good time; don't ruin the mood!"

Tom sneered, "Evelyn, don't you think you're being unfair? Caspian treats you so well, helping you with all sorts of things, but you don't appreciate it at all. You're always cold to him. How can you be so heartless? I feel it's not worth it for him!"

"Tom, stop it!" Caspian scolded coldly.

Alexander said, "Tom, go outside and sober up."

Evelyn, angry, said, "My business with Caspian is none of your concern!"

"Caspian is my friend. I feel for him. If he won't speak up, I will!" Tom shouted as Caspian dragged him out.

Evelyn stomped her foot in anger, "Who says I have to like someone just because they're good to me? Who says that!"

She pulled Amos up, saying, "Let's go. We're not eating anymore, and we won't come to these gatherings again!"

Lillian and Wendy quickly stood up to stop her, "Evelyn, he's drunk. Why bother arguing with him?"

"I can't eat anything now. My worldview is abnormal, my judgment is poor, and I'm stupid!" Evelyn said, "Lillian, I'm leaving. You guys enjoy your meal."

Lillian watched her leave quickly and said, "I'll go see her off."

Angela, seeing Evelyn being scolded, felt inexplicably happy. She asked with schadenfreude, "What's up with Tom tonight?"

Theodore said, "He must be standing up for Caspian. Who knows why he suddenly acted like this tonight."

Outside the private room, Caspian asked in a calm voice, "What's wrong with you? You caused trouble after having a drink!"

Tom, holding a cigarette, said defiantly, "I can't stand Evelyn and Amos right now. Isn't Evelyn being ungrateful? You didn't see it earlier; Evelyn was so happy, chatting with Amos. I've never seen her smile at you like that. It makes me angry just watching!"
