Chapter 331 Told Angela

Half-asleep, Caspian had a popsicle in his mouth, while Wendy sat cross-legged beside him, holding a pipslcle in one hand and resting her chin in the other. She shamelessly admired his face while pondering Amos's words. 'Should I tell Evelyn about Amos? He is a liar who deceives Evelyn's feelings. But it is their business, so even if I tell Evelyn, she might not believe me. I don't want to get involved in their affairs. But I am so unlucky that I always run into Amos. He came to warn me, probably out of fear, right?'

"Angela said Evelyn is blinded by love. If I tell her about Amos, I guess she won't believe it," Wendy muttered to herself.

"And thinking that Amos, that bastard, threatened me makes me angry! What's he so arrogant about?  If he's got guts, he should come at him!" she said, her eyes falling on Caspian's face.

Caspian, eyes closed, was biting into the popsicle, thoroughly enjoying it.

"Whether to tell or not, I'll wait and see," Wendy said, pulling the popsicle stick from Caspian's mouth. "You're done. It's time to sleep."

Caspian, bleary-eyed, looked at her and said, "My stomach feels cooler after one; I want another."

Wendy looked at him and unwrapped another one, coaxing softly, "Finish this and then sleep."

This time, Caspian held the popsicle stick himself and lazily nodded. It felt as if he had a burst of energy after eating ice cream.

"What were you mumbling about earlier?" Caspian suddenly asked.

Wendy was startled and asked, "What did you hear?"

"Nothing, so I'm asking what you said."

"Nothing much, just telling you to hurry up. I'm sleepy," Wendy pretended to yawn.

After he finished the popsicle, Wendy placed a glass of water by his bedside and said, "Goodnight, I'm leaving." She turned off the light and left the room.

In the darkness, Caspian opened his eyes, his gaze becoming sharp and cold.

Wendy returned to her room, while Angela was playing on her phone with the light on.

"If you didn't come back soon, I was going to look for you in his room," Angela said, locking her phone and setting it aside.

Wendy climbed into bed and responded listlessly, "I waited for him to finish eating before coming back. Let's sleep."

"What happened? Did he harass you while drunk?" Sensing something was wrong, Angela asked sharply.

Wendy quickly replied, "No, it wasn't him."

"Then who?" Angela asked angrily.

"Don't worry; no one harassed me. It's something else. Let me explain," Fearing Amos might retaliate against her, Wendy decided to tell Angela first.

Angela listened quietly to Wendy's story without much surprise, only sneering, "I knew he was unreliable. Only Evelyn couldn't see it!"

"Ms. Phillips is very capable at work, quick-witted. How could she be like this in her personal life?" Wendy found it hard to believe.

"She's been too well-protected by Caspian," Angela said. "And she has terrible taste in men!"

"So what do we do now?" Wendy asked. "Should I tell Ms. Phillips?"

Angela thought for a moment and said, "Even if you tell Evelyn, she won't believe you. Not just because you have no evidence, but also because she would deny it to maintain her dignity."

"What if I tell her anonymously?" Wendy asked.

Angela shook her head with a smile. "If Amos finds out, he'll suspect you first."

"So what now? Are we just going to keep it a secret and watch Ms. Phillips get deceived?" Wendy asked worriedly.

Angela bluntly said, "I think it's good for her to be deceived. She needs to learn a lesson and stop dating any man she meets. Living such a life, she truly embodies failure."

"Angela!" Wendy scolded her.

Angela was just venting. She was still trying to find a solution for Wendy.

"For her to believe it, she needs to see it with her own eyes," Angela thought for a moment and said, "Leave it to me. Don't bother with Amos. From what he said, I guess he has a grudge against Caspian. Don't be afraid; I'm here."

"Now I feel relieved," Wendy smiled, hugging Angela. "Angela, you're the best."

"Alright, let's sleep. I'm tired," Angela lay down and asked, "Do you like Evelyn a lot?"

"We're all friends, and she's my boss. I don't want to see her hurt," Wendy said softly.

Angela turned her back to her and said bluntly, "I think you don't want Caspian to feel bad seeing her deceived."

"Yes, you are right," Wendy admitted.

The next day, everyone slept in. After lunch, they prepared to leave.

Wendy had come with Caspian, so she naturally left with him. She helped Caspian into the car and watched Evelyn and Amos get in, feeling a chill in her heart.

On the way back, Caspian asked, "Do you want to visit your parents? You haven't been back in two weeks, right?"

"Two weeks?" Wendy asked, confused.

Seeing her puzzled look, Caspian flicked her forehead. "You're always busy with work. If you don't go back, your parents will think I'm stopping you. I'll take you back."

"I didn't sleep well last night, and I haven't even changed my clothes. Let's discuss it next week." Wendy said.

"Just go and sleep. No one cares if you've changed clothes," Caspian told Marcus, "Take Wendy home."

Wendy felt deflated and said, "I know you want me to go on a blind date, right?"

"I forgot about that," Caspian teased, "If you don't like this one, just say you don't want to break up with me."

"Jerk!" Wendy couldn't stand it and cursed him for the first time.

Caspian thought she was just throwing a tantrum and smiled, saying nothing.
