Chapter 273 Justin's Nonchalant Attitude
Blake nodded frequently, "Mom, you're right. This time we can't act rashly."
He couldn't help but say angrily, "Actually, it's all my grandfather's fault! Father was good to us. If it weren't for my grandfather, we wouldn't be in this situation!"
Beatrice also harbored resentment towards Justin. Logically, with Ethan around, Blake's struggle with Alexander shouldn't have involved the company's shares, and her son wouldn't have ended up being laughed at by the Rihegde people.
"He's so old and about to die. We don't need to be afraid, I am sure we can outlast him." Beatrice said with a cold smile.
However, Blake replied, "Mom, I think my grandfather is in great health. Living another ten years won't be a problem in his condition. Besides, he has always favored Alexander. The company's power is in their hands. I'm afraid we can outlast him physically, but the company's situation is constantly changing. We can't keep staying out of the company's affairs."
Beatrice had also thought about what Blake said. Justin was indeed a crucial person and a protector for Alexander. He was truly a problem for them.
Seeing Beatrice remain silent, Blake leaned in and whispered, "Mom, since Grandpa is such an eyesore. Why don't we..." He didn't finish his sentence but made a hand gesture mimicking a knife.
Beatrice looked at him speechlessly, then raised her hand and knocked him on the head forcefully, saying angrily, "All you think about is killing! You wanted to do this to your father and Alexander, to Lillian's brother, and now to Justin! Can't you use your brain and think of other strategies?"
She sighed heavily and continued, "Justin's status is high enough. He's not an insignificant person you can just assassinate. Do I need to tell you that? We don't even know how many guards Alexander has secretly assigned to protect Justin."
"Even if he's well-protected, can he be like the President? Even Presidents get assassinated," Blake said indifferently.
Beatrice shook her head disapprovingly, "We can't kill Justin. If we take that step, we're walking into a trap on our own."
She warned again, "Blake, don't forget the stupid things you've done before. This time, you absolutely cannot act on your own! Do you hear me?"
Blake said, "Mom, I'm just making a suggestion. I won't act on my own. Whatever we do next, I'll listen to you. Don't worry."
Beatrice said, "It's good that you know. Alright, go to bed now. Tomorrow, I'll go to the hospital to take care of your father first. After I plead with him, you can come over."
Beatrice had a good night, but Samantha was not as pleased. When Linda and Justin came back in the evening, she couldn't wait to tell them about Ethan.
"Dad, Beatrice has already been kicked out of the house. How can she still come to take care of Ethan?" Samantha said indignantly.
Justin asked, "Is Ethan asleep?"
Samantha said, "After the IV, he fell asleep."
Linda said, "Samantha, you already know his personality very well all these years. He's infatuated with Beatrice. What can we do? Just bear with it."
"I've put up with it for over thirty years! I can't believe you're still asking me to endure this." Samantha said unhappily.
Justin slowly said, "Samantha, right now, Ethan's health is the most important. Beatrice and Blake are no longer members of the Sinclair family. They have no shares or status. They're just here to take care of Ethan for a few days. Just let him do as he wishes."
Justin's words were clear: Beatrice has nothing left, and you are still Ethan's wife. What is there to be upset about?
Samantha didn't expect Justin to agree and didn't know what to say.
Linda told her, "You should go to bed early too."
After Samantha left, Linda asked, "Justin, what do you mean by this? Don't you dislike Beatrice?"
Justin said angrily, "Ethan is infatuated with her. What can I say? The three of them have been entangled for a lifetime. Do I have the time to manage this? Anyone who can take care of him is fine."
Linda said, "You know, Beatrice definitely won't give up. Maybe this time she instigated Ethan."
Justin smiled helplessly, "If she did, so be it. Ethan likes her. We kicked them out and took back everything. At least we’ve been of some help to Samantha and Alexander. Otherwise, they would blame us for doing nothing. How long can we manage this?"
"You are right, when we were abroad, we would get calls from Samantha complaining. This time, after staying for half a year, I realized the source of the trouble was Ethan!"
Justin said angrily, "I don't know who he inherited this from. He and I are not alike at all."
"Fortunately, Alexander isn't like him. but I think Blake and Ethan are quite similar."
Justin pondered and said, "This time upon our return, I've told Alexander everything I needed to. I'm not worried about him at all. After Lillian has her baby, we should go live with Alexander's second eldest uncle. For the past two years, he's been asking me to go there. The environment is good, and there are fewer troubles. It would be a good place for us to spend our later years."
Linda, however, was reluctant to leave, "I don't want to go. After Lillian has her baby, I want to take care of her two kids. Besides, there’s hardly anyone at his second uncle’s place, It's not lively at all. I don't want to go."
Seeing her firm attitude, Justin didn't continue the conversation. He would bring it up again later.
The next morning, Beatrice got up early and went to the kitchen to make Ethan's favorite porridge. She packed it in a thermos and left.
At Whispering Hospital, Ethan had various tests done early in the morning and was diagnosed with pneumonia and gallstones. He was admitted to the hospital. Alexander completed all the hospital admission procedures and returned to the ward, saying to Samantha, "During the day, Beatrice will take care of Ethan. You should just go home, meet friends for tea, get some beauty treatments, or go on a trip. It's all fine. I'll come to stay with him at night."
"You've worked all day. Don't come to stay at night. Get a caregiver for your father, or have Melvin come to take care of him," Samantha, with a heart full of compassion for Alexander, said to him.
As they were talking, Beatrice pushed the door open and entered. Seeing them, she was slightly taken aback, then quickly smiled and greeted, "Samantha, long time no see. How have you been?"
She then looked at Alexander, "Alexander, you look more spirited than ever!"
Alexander responded with a faint smile, "Beatrice, you look the same."
In the inner room, Ethan heard the voices and quickly asked, "Is Beatrice here? Come in quickly."
"Ethan, it's me," Beatrice responded quickly.
Alexander said to Samantha, "Mom, I'll be leaving now."
Only Samantha and Beatrice were left in the outer room. Both had smiles on their faces, but their eyes showed a competitive glint.
"Samantha, have you ever thought that you might be the one intruding?" Beatrice asked softly.
