Chapter 131 I don't like Alexander at all

Alexander looked at her seriously, his gaze gradually showing signs of wavering and his expression losing its previous sternness.

Seizing the opportunity, Shae pleaded coquettishly. "Alexander, please, let me do it for a few months.I'm just an intern now, and I might not pass the assessment when I become a full-time employee."

Alexander waved his hand helplessly. "You're just being ridiculous. When your brother comes to the Whale Group to find you and asks you to work at the Anderson Group, you will resign!"

"They would never do that. If they knew I was working at the Whale Group, they would definitely try to butter me up!" Shae said mockingly, then her eyes lit up, and she exclaimed excitedly, "Alexander! You agreed to let me be your intern secretary!"

"I don't see I have a choice. You wouldn't leave even if I told you to!" Alexander said with a helpless smile.

Shae happily ran towards him, impulsively hugging his neck and saying coquettishly, "Alexander, I knew you were the best! Thank you! I will work hard!"

Alexander felt repulsed by her behavior and moved to pull her arm away. Just then, Kaitlyn knocked on the door and entered the executive office, her tone a bit anxious. "Mr. Sinclair, there's news from Aetherland again, and the situation is quite bad."

Kaitlyn stopped, looking slightly embarrassed. The door was open, and Lillian also saw the scene.

Alexander glanced over at Lillian, then he pulled Shae's arm down and said solemnly, "From now on, behave yourself in the company and follow the rules."

"Okay, Alexander," Shae whispered, sticking out her tongue. "I was just overjoyed."

"Alright, get back to work now," he said, then turned to Kaitlyn and asked, "What's the situation in Aetherland?"

Shae left the office, feeling happy because of Alexander's approval. Shae noticed Lillian immersed in thought at her computer and had to walk over, tapping her desk and asking with a smile. "Ms. Hill, what are you thinking about?"

Lillian's mind was still replaying the scene of Shae hugging Alexander's neck. So many women liked Alexander! Honestly, she felt quite uncomfortable but knew she was being overly sentimental. In a contractual relationship, she had no right to feel sad.

"Ms. Hill, you seem unhappy. Is there any difficulty with your work?" Shae asked, pretending to beconsiderate.

Lillian smiled at her. "I'm not unhappy, just lost in thought for a moment."

Shae smiled and told her, "Ms. Hill, Alexander is shocked I joined. He didn't want me to start since he was afraid of overwork, but I persisted, and he consented. Alexander still treats me well."

After saying this, she asked innocently, "Ms. Hill, are you jealous of me?"

"No," Lillian said calmly, "Nothing to envy. Alexander is fair and impartial. I believe he will treat you the same as everyone else."

"It's good. I am really worried you might be. Since Amy was Alexander's ex-girlfriend, my presence here may make you feel bad," Shae explained.

"I can't compete with a deceased person. As Amy's cousin, you have no unique bond with Alexander. I won't look down on you for no reason. It's nothing to do with me," Lillian said.

After speaking, Lillian looked up at Shae with stubborn defiance. Shae looked back down at her, her gaze still filled with disdain and provocation.

Alexander told Kaitlyn in the office after discussing business, "Shae is Amy's cousin. It's quite a coincidence that you hired her as an intern secretary. Don't treat her any differently. Follow the company's rules."

As the chairman's secretary, Kaitlyn was somewhat familiar with the Sinclair family's affairs. Alexander had once brought Amy to the company for a visit, and Kaitlyn had met Amy.

Kaitlyn said, "Mr. Sinclair, rest assured. I won't treat her any differently. I didn't expect her to be Amy's cousin."

"The fact that you hired Shae shows that she is capable. I believe you didn't know, Kaitlyn, and I trust your character," Alexander said.

"Thank you for your trust, Mr. Sinclair. If nothing else, I'll depart," Kaitlyn remarked.

Alexander nodded, looking at the door as if trying to see through it to Lillian outside.

When Lillian went to find Shirley for lunch during the lunch break after a fast morning, she met Shae on her way out.

"Ms. Hill, I have a lunch appointment with Alexander. Why don't you join us?" Shae whispered, worried that others might hear.

Lillian replied, "No need, I'm going to the company cafeteria with a colleague. You two go ahead." After saying this, she entered the executive office.

Shae turned away, mocking Lillian's proud demeanor with a sneer, and walked towards the executive office.

Lillian and Shirley exited the elevator together and headed to the cafeteria.

Seeing her listless expression, Shirley asked, "What's wrong?"

"How is Shae's work ability?" Lillian suddenly asked.

"She's very good at socializing and has strong work abilities. She even outshone Olivia, who started at the same time," Shirley said curiously, "Why are you suddenly asking about her work ability?"

As they took their trays to get food and sat down, Lillian said, "Shae is Mr. Sinclair's ex-girlfriend's cousin."

"She has ulterior motives towards Mr. Sinclair," Shirley said knowingly.

"How do you know?" Lillian was stunned.

"She snatched the opportunity to make coffee for Mr. Sinclair from me, so I guessed she came with a purpose!" Shirley replied.

Lillian rested her chin on her hand, poking at her food with a fork, not eating a bite.

Shirley transferred the steak from her tray to Lillian's and said seriously, "I don't know what your current relationship with Mr. Sinclair is, but if you like Mr. Sinclair, don't give up easily. Put aside your worries, muster your courage, and compete fairly with Shae!"

Lillian said surprisedly, "Shirley, don't talk nonsense. I don't like Mr. Sinclair! Even though we have a secret relationship now, I really don't like him at all!"

Instead of arguing, Shirley took a picture of Lillian on the phone and showed Lillian, saying, "Look at your face full of resentment."

Lillian glanced at it, pouting, and said discontentedly, "I don't have any resentment. I'm clearly a beautiful young girl full of youth!"

"Keep being stubborn. When Shae wins over Alexander, you won't have any chance left!" Shirley said.

Lillian took small bites of her lunch and said, "I'll just keep working. I don't like him, so I won't care at all."
