Chapter 111 You Are a Married Woman

On Friday, Valentine's Day.

Alexander got up in the morning to go for a run. It was drizzling outside. He suddenly remembered what Caspian had told him a couple of days ago—Lillian had bought him chocolates. To reciprocate, he decided to send her a bouquet of roses. He instructed Kevin to take care of it.

After his run, he went back to his room to change and then headed to the dining room. Lillian was already in the kitchen having breakfast and chatting happily with Kelly.

Lillian came out of the kitchen and saw Alexander eating breakfast. She walked over and said, "Mr. Sinclair, I have plans with friends tonight, so I'll be back late."

"Why are you always going out?" Alexander asked. "It's Valentine's Day. Don't your two best friends have boyfriends?"

"No, the three of us are all single," Lillian said nonchalantly.

Alexander looked at her disapprovingly and admonished, "Don't forget. You are a married woman!"

"Right," Lillian quickly corrected. "They're both single."

"Come back early tonight," Alexander instructed. "Have Kevin pick you up."

"Thank you, boss," Lillian said happily, turning to leave.

Alexander felt a strange anticipation for the chocolates she was supposed to give him. Seeing that she hadn't given them to him yet, he wondered if she planned to give them to him at the office.

"Lillian!" he suddenly called out.

"What is it?" Lillian turned back to ask.

Without speaking, Alexander stared at her quietly.

Lillian felt uneasy under his gaze. "Mr. Sinclair, do you have something to ask me?"

"No," Alexander said, looking away and continuing to eat.

Feeling puzzled by him, Lillian didn't ask further and turned to leave.

Alexander noticed that she didn't seem to have any intention of giving him chocolates, which made him doubt Caspian's words.

Today, Kaitlyn took the day off due to feeling unwell and went to the hospital. Lillian was handling everything on her own and felt a bit nervous.

The executive office was quite lively today, with wave after wave of flower deliveries. Each time flowers arrived, there was a commotion. Everyone was more relaxed since Kaitlyn wasn't there.

Lillian felt envious. She pondered, 'Even though my marriage to Alexander is fake, on a special day like this, who wouldn't want to receive a big bouquet? I also know that several pairs of eyes in the executive office are watching me.'

Thinking of this, she glanced at the CEO's office and smiled self-deprecatingly. 'Forget it. I can't expect him to send me flowers. He has no reason.'

Just before noon, as they were about to finish work, the elevator doors opened. Another delivery guy came in with flowers. This time, the bouquet was bigger and better than any of the previous ones. Everyone in the office started guessing who it was for.

"Who is Lillian? Please sign for this. Thank you," the delivery guy called out.

Lillian looked up, stunned, and asked, "I'm Lillian. Is this for me?"

The delivery guy walked over to her, jokingly saying, "If you're Lillian Hill, these flowers are for you."

"Who sent them?" Lillian asked as she took the huge bouquet, which was so big it covered her face while signing for it.

"We just deliver," the delivery guy said with a smile, taking the signed receipt.

Lillian placed the flowers on her desk, feeling particularly happy. She didn't find a card, not knowing who had sent them.

'Could it be Alexander?' Lillian tilted her head, looking at the CEO's office door. 'Probably not,' she thought, shaking her head to dismiss the idea. 'He disliked me. There is no way he will send me flowers.'

"Ms. Hill, What a large bouquet you got there! Compared to yours, the five I received don't even come close!" Alexis came over, smiling obsequiously.

Lillian placed the flowers on the floor and smiled without saying anything. It wasn't that she was arrogant, but she didn't know what to say.

"Mr. Sinclair is really good to you. Where are you two going for your date tonight?" Alexis leaned on her desk and asked.

Lillian frowned in displeasure and said calmly, "Alexis, it's work hours. Go back to your desk. It wouldn't be good if Mr. Sinclair saw you like this."

"It's almost lunch break," Alexis said with a smile. "Besides, Mr. Sinclair won't blame me for chatting with you."

Such a work attitude.

Lillian said bluntly, "Alexis, I don't ask you to chat with me. Anyway, it would help if you weren't chatting during work hours. Don't you agree?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Alexander came out of his office and immediately saw Alexis leaning on the desk, lazily swinging her legs.

"What are you doing?" Alexander asked in a stern voice.

Alexis stood up straight in fright and nervously said, "Mr. Sinclair, I am chatting with Ms. Hill."

"Do you chat during work hours? Have you finished your work?" Alexander asked angrily.

He glanced at Lillian and the bouquet on the floor, then said, "Your bonus for this month is gone."

Alexis cursed her bad luck internally, apologized, and hurried back to the executive office.

Alexander said to Lillian, "Grab your things and come with me."

Lillian was puzzled and asked, "Mr. Sinclair, what things should I bring?"

Alexander stopped, sighed in exasperation, and said patiently, "Ms. Hill, I have a lunch meeting with the CEO of SK Group to discuss a collaboration. What do you think we should bring?"

Lillian slapped her forehead. 'This lunch meeting is scheduled for today. I have completely forgotten about it.' She felt ashamed that her boss had to remind her.

"Mr. Sinclair, I'm sorry, I forgot," Lillian said, lowering her head to find the documents and putting them in her bag. She followed Alexander out.

In the elevator, Lillian felt guilty about her work mistake and looked up at Alexander, saying, "Mr. Sinclair, I'm sorry. This kind of mistake won't happen again."

Alexander looked straight ahead and responded indifferently. Then he looked down at her and asked, "Ms. Hill, have you forgotten something?"

Lillian blinked and said, "I don't think so." She checked her bag and said, "I have everything we need. Nothing is missing."

Alexander knew she was referring to work-related items. He rolled his eyes at her and stepped out of the elevator. Lillian sensed his displeasure, but since he hadn't scolded her for the work mistake, she wondered what else could be bothering him. She hadn't offended him in any other way.

Kevin drove them to an upscale club. Several executives from the Whale Group were already there, waiting in the lobby. Alexander led the group to a private room.

Inside, Michael and his subordinates were already there. When he saw Alexander's group enter, Michael stood up with a smile to shake hands. When he got to Lillian, he smiled and said, "Ms. Hill, long time no see."
