Chapter 355 Caspian and Wendy Break Up
Wendy quickly stood up, suppressing the dryness and pain in her throat, and said to Jessica and Patrick with difficult, "Dad, Mom, I want to break up with him!"
Upon hearing this, Jessica was delighted and excitedly asked, "Wendy, are you serious? That's great, I never approved of you being together."
Patrick pondered for a moment and asked, "Wendy, have you thought this through?"
Wendy looked at Caspian with sad eyes, nodded firmly, and said, "I've made up my mind."
Patrick then asked Caspian, "Caspian, what about you? What's your opinion?"
Caspian hesitated, thought for a moment, and said, "I respect Wendy's decision." He looked at Wendy and said, "It's better to break up with me. It was my fault in the first place. Take good care of yourself. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis, I'm leaving." He said, then took his coat and left.
Wendy, with tears in her eyes, tightly pressed her lips together, her eyes filled with an unknown anger, and clenched her teeth as she watched him leave.
Seeing Wendy's sadness, Patrick comforted her, saying, "Wendy, don't be sad. If you are not suitable for each other, breaking up is the best option."
Jessica said, "Don't cry, I'll introduce you to a better guy in the future." She hugged Wendy and sighed, "Now that you've broken up with him, I won't have to worry anymore."
Seeing Wendy's stern face, Patrick said, "Wendy, go back to your room and rest. We'll have dinner soon."
Wendy, with tears in her eyes, returned to her room and threw herself on the bed, crying silently; she and Caspian were over!
However, it was not the end of the world; life went on every day.
Wendy was sovving miserably, while Evelyn and Amos's relationship grew deeper, completely forgetting about Amos's previous infidelity; after all, Amos's sweet words and constant flattery made Evelyn fall head over heels in love again.
After work that day, as usual, Wendy saw Amos and his car in front of the studio. She glanced at him and walked away.
However, Amos, asked from behind, "Wendy, why haven't I seen Mr. Wade picking you up lately? Did you fight?"
Wendy ignored him and kept walking.
Evelyn came out, followed his gaze, and said to Amos, "Lt's go."
Amos drove slowly past Wendy and asked, "Did Wendy and Mr. Wade break up? I haven't seen him pick her up from work lately."
Evelyn was touching up her makeup and replied, "I don't know; maybe they're having a tiff. But I haven't heard that they're dating."
Amos laughed and said, "So they're in the ambiguous stage? Wendy is so naive, isn't she being played by Mr. Wade?"
"Stop talking nonsense!" Evelyn said seriously, "Let me tell you, I had a hard time convincing my father to let us attend tonight's dinner. This time my father won the bid, and you may get to share the benefits. Opportunities like this are rare, so don't mess it up!"
"I won't disappoint you, don't worry!" Amos said earnestly.
At tonight's dinner, there were about ten people, all seasoned business professionals. Evelyn's father, Joseph Phillips, did not give Amos any special attention; he merely introduced Evelyn to everyone.
Although Evelyn was easily swayed in love, she became an entirely different person in a professional context, managing such situations with remarkable skill, much to Joseph's contentment.
After the lively dinner, Evelyn asked, puzzled, "Dad, why don't you give the construction materials to Amos; his company specializes in this."
Joseph shook his head. "Evelyn, I don't feel comfortable giving the construction materials to him!"
"Dad, he's my boyfriend, would he deceive us?" Evelyn said unhappily.
"These days, even families can deceive each other, let alone your boyfriend I'm not satisfied with?" Joseph said mockingly, "You should stay out of this project and focus on your own business."
"Dad, Amos's company is just starting; please help him out more, and it'll be easier for him to develop in the future." Evelyn pleaded.
Joseph looked at her and said, "Haven't you already helped him integrate resources using my name enough? He can't always rely on you; he needs to go out and develop his network." Disappointed, he tapped her forehead. "You've lost your mind over a relationship."
"Dad, please agree to this." Evelyn pleaded again.
"Enough, it's not going to happen," Joseph said firmly.
Outside the door, Amos leaned against the door, overhearing their conversation. He smirked inwardly, not taking Joseph's words to heart. 'If you don't agree, I'll find a way to make you agree!'
On the way home, Evelyn comforted Amos, saying, "Don't be discouraged. Your company is doing well now; we don't need my dad's investment."
Amos smiled indifferently and said, "I'm fine. I'm already satisfied that I could attend this dinner. Don't get mad at your father because of me. Ultimately, it's my lack of ability that didn't earn your father's trust."
"I'm glad you're not overthinking it." Hearing this, Evelyn felt relieved and started chatting about other things.
"By the way, your car is in for maintenance, so I'll be your driver for the next couple of days, available 24/7," Amos said.
Evelyn said, "No need, I can drive another car to work. You focus on your work."
Dissatisfied, Amos said, "Honey, why won't you even give me a chance to serve you?"
"I'm just afraid of delaying your work," Evelyn reassured him, poking his face with her finger playfully.
Amos grabbed her hand and said, "The company's electrical system is being inspected tomorrow, so everyone has the day off. And the day after is Friday, so there's not much going on. I'll just spend time with you."
Evelyn agreed, "Alright, I'll give you a chance to serve me."
At a red light, Amos leaned over and kissed her on the cheek. He meant what he said.
The next day, Amos bought breakfast for Evelyn early in the morning, woke her up, and had breakfast with her. Then, he acted like a driver, staying in the lounge during the day without disturbing her work. When Evelyn needed to go out, she called him to go with her.
In the afternoon, Amos was playing games in the lounge when Evelyn pushed the door open and stood at the entrance, saying, "Amos, let's go."
"Okay, Ms. Phillips." Amos quickly got up and followed her out.
