Chapter 350 Lillian's Gift

After a moment, Lillian said, "Lisa, we'll just celebrate Alexander's birthday at home. He's been quite busy lately and might not have time. If you and Harry miss Henry and William, you can come over and see them."

Lisa laughed twice and hesitantly said, "Actually, our neighbors know you had twins and they all want to see them. And since they know Alexander is the CEO, they all want to meet him too."

Lillian rubbed her forehead, knowing Lisa must have an agenda. "It's been cold lately, so let's not make a fuss. We'll come visit you and Harry with the kids during the New Year."

"Alright," Lisa said, but she seemed to have more to say.

"Is there something else?" Lillian asked.

Lisa said, "There's one more thing about Camille. Can you ask Alexander about Mr. Richardson from the marketing department? What's he like? I saw their chat on Camille's phone, and it seems like they're dating."

"Mr. Richardson?" Lillian agreed, "Sure, I'll ask him and let you know."

"Lillian, please ask in detail. I'm worried Camille might be deceived," Lisa said anxiously.

"Really? Okay, I'll find someone familiar to ask about it." With that, Lillian hung up the phone and asked Alexander, "Is Mr. Richardson from the marketing department a new hire? How much do you know about him?"

"He is a recent hire, and I only know that he is highly competent and resourceful. I am not privy to his personal life. If you wish to learn more about him, I can have the bodyguard look into it." Alexander asked.

"The more detailed, the better. Lisa is quite worried." Lillian said.

Alexander nodded. "Don't worry."

Lillian looked out the window, thinking that although Lisa could be harsh, she truly devoted all her energy to Camille and Adam.

In this regard, Lillian felt a bit envious. Having lost her mother at a young age, Lisa was like a mother in her life, but Lillian never received much motherly love from her. At times like this, she envied Adam and Camille.

"What are you thinking about?" Alexander asked, holding her hand.

Lillian snapped out of it and smiled. "I was wondering how Lisa knew about your birthday. I thought she missed Henry and William, but it turns out it's about Camille."

Alexander laughed but didn't comment.

This year, Alexander did not intend to invite friends over for his birthday. With Lillian, William, and Harry by his side, he was perfectly content.

On his birthday, Alexander went to work as usual. He came home a bit earlier in the evening when the chef had prepared a table full of dishes.

A birthday cake was placed in the middle of the table. Lillian lit the candles and the whole family sang a birthday song for Alexander and asked him to make a wish.

Alexander made his wish very seriously and then blew out the candles.

Lillian, holding William, said in a sweet childlike voice, "Daddy, happy birthday. I love you." Then, she switched to Harry's voice, "Daddy, I love you too. Happy birthday."

Alexander laughed heartily, kissing both kids on the cheeks and finally kissing Lillian.

Patricia took the kids away, and Kelly and Gina also left, leaving the dining room for just them.

"Honey, this is the most ordinary birthday you've ever had, right?" Lillian said, pouring wine into their glasses, raising hers with a sparkling gaze, and smiling. "Happy birthday, I want to spend every birthday with you for the rest of our lives."

"Honey, this is the best birthday I've ever had. With you and the kids, I am so content Thank you, I also hope to spend every birthday with you!" Alexander said.

Their glasses clinked lightly, making a crisp sound.

Lillian sighed, "Time flies; it's already November, and we've been together for almost a year."

Alexander smiled, "I still owe you a wedding. We'll make up for it next spring."

At this moment, Lillian picked up a wrapped gift box from the chair beside her, handed it to him, and said happily, "Honey, this is your birthday present."

The box was square and didn't look very big.

Alexander took it, asking curiously, "What is it? Let me guess, cufflinks? A tie clip? Or a ring?"

"Why don't you open it and see?" Lillian said, smiling with her lips pursed.

Alexander quickly unwrapped it and opened the box, revealing four brooches inside—two depicting large trees and two depicting small trees.

"Honey, look, these two large trees represent us, and the small trees symbolize William and Harry." Lillian pointed out.

Alexander was touched, his eyes slightly moist. "I love this gift!" He took out one of the large tree brooches, examining it closely. "I'll wear it every day from now on."

"Then I'll wear mine every day too!" Lillian picked up the other large tree brooch.

Outside, the snowfall had begun. The season's inaugural snow had arrived.

Lillian's eyes sparkled as she recalled that the first snowfall was said to be the day for confessions of love; she resolved to confess her feelings to Alexander. "Honey, I like you. Do you like me?" she asked shyly and softly.

Alexander laughed, "At this point, you're still asking if I like you? Of course, I do; I like you the most!" He said, cupping her face and planting a heavy kiss on her lips; this birthday would be unforgettable for him.

Meanwhile, Wendy and a few colleagues came out of the restaurant and saw the snow, cheering excitedly. Today was the day of their team dinner, yet Wendy had been feeling down lately, all because of Caspian. Uncharacteristically, she had a few beers at the dinner. Not being much of a drinker, she now felt a bit lightheaded. Looking up at the falling snow, she foolishly opened her mouth to catch the snowflakes.

"Wendy, what are you doing?" a colleague pulled her and said to the other girls, "The first snow is a day for confessions. If you have a crush, you should confess today in this romantic moment."

Wendy asked in confusion, "Why is the first snow a day for confessions? Why not the first rain, the first thunder, or the first wind?"

Her antics elicited laughter from her female colleagues, who all asked if she had had too much to drink.

Wendy shook her head. "I'm not drunk, I'm clear-headed enough to confess!"
