Chapter 342 Rescuing Samantha
"Amy!" Alexander looked at Amy with a somber gaze and said in a steady voice, "Stop this madness; put the knife down!"
"No." Amy dragged Samantha a few steps back, crying. "Your mother bullied me. You have to avenge me!"
Samantha looked weakly at Alexander, a bitter smile appearing at the corner of her mouth.
"Amy, don't cry. Please listen to me first," Alexander tried to persuade Amy gently, attempting to make her lower her guard.
"What my mother did to you back then was indeed wrong, and I apologize on her behalf. Please put the knife down first; we can discuss everything once we return home." As Alexander spoke, he kept a close eye on Amy's every move.
"I don’t want your apology! What good will it do? I’m forever changed and can never return to how things were. I don’t need your worthless apology!" Amy shouted angrily, tightening her arm around Samantha's neck.
Samantha showed a pained expression, her hands climbing up Amy's arm, and she croaked, "Amy, let go!"
"Bastard, shut up!" Amy angrily struck her forehead with the knife handle, causing blood to flow from Samantha's temple.
"Mom!" Alexander shouted and moved forward.
Amy started crying again. "Don't come any closer!"
Alexander signaled to the people on both sides and then spoke to Amy softly, "Okay, I'll stay right here. Just tell me what you want, as long as you let my mother go!"
"I want you! I just want you!" Amy wailed, "I want you to come back to be with me; I want you to treat me well, to smile at me like before! Alexander, I want to have children with you. As long as you're with me, I'll do anything you say!"
Alexander's emotions were deeply affected by her words. He gazed at her with pity in his eyes, his lips tightly pursed, saying nothing.
"Alexander! Speak up!" Seeing his reluctance to agree, Amy angrily drew a bloodline on Samantha's neck with the knife. "You don't want to agree, do you?"
"Amy, I can't agree with you. For I am already in love with someone else—Lillian. Lillian and I have even had children together. She and I, are the true family, and you are not part of it." Alexander said calmly.
Samantha frowned, her eyes full of discontent. Then Alexander gave her a reassuring look and then turned back to Amy. "Amy, your illness requires psychological counseling, and I can assist you in this regard. When we get back home, I'll find you the best doctors and the best medicine to help you recover, okay?"
"No! " Amy lost control of her emotions, waving the knife wildly in the air, scaring Samantha into closing her eyes tightly, praying that her face wouldn't get cut.
Peter and his men quietly moved in from both sides, seizing the opportunity to grab Amy's arm, disarm her, and restrain her.
Alexander went over to support Samantha, looking at her injury with guilt. "Mom, I'm sorry I'm late. " He quickly took out a tissue to cover the blood on her temple.
Samantha, holding herself up, regained her composure and walked over to Amy, raising her hand to slap her, but Alexander caught her hand. "Mom, she's sick."
Samantha looked at Alexander in disbelief, her voice trembling. "Can't you see the injury on my face? And you're still speaking for her!"
"Mom, I'm not speaking for her. I just don't want to see you entangled in this grudge any longer." Alexander said with a stern face, glancing at Peter, who then took Amy away. Then he added, "As your son, of course, I care about you. But she didn't do this for no reason. What good will slapping her do to ease your pain?"
"This isn't over between me and her!" Samantha shouted angrily before finally fainting from exhaustion.
After several hours, Samantha woke up from hunger. "Alexander." She called out hoarsely.
A maid entered and said, "You're awake? Mr. Sinclair is on the phone. Do you need anything?"
"I'm hungry; bring me something to eat," Samantha said weakly.
"Yes, ma'am." Soon, the maid brought a table with five dishes and placed it on the bed.
At this moment, Alexander came in and asked, "Mom, are you feeling better?"
"After being starved by Amy for three days, it's a miracle I'm still alive!" Samantha said sarcastically while having porridge, still upset about Alexander stopping her from hitting Amy.
"While you were asleep, I had the doctor check you. Fortunately, it's all superficial wounds. When we get back home, I'll take you to the hospital for a full check-up." Seeing Samantha eating quickly, Alexander added, "Mom, eat slowly; don't choke."
Samantha said, "I'm not going back for now. I'll go back after I recover."
"You're the only one living in Sinclair Villa, and no one will know. Come back with me; I won't feel at ease with you here alone." Alexander said.
There was a knock on the door, and Melvin came in to report, "Mr. Sinclair, Mr. Chambers is here."
Alexander went downstairs to find Jared pacing anxiously in the living room. "Jared." he walked over and said, "You got here quickly."
Seeing Alexander, Jared quickly asked, "Where's Amy? Is she okay?"
Alexander said, "She's fine. She was a bit unstable at first, but the doctor gave her a sedative, and she's asleep now."
Jared sighed in relief and apologized, "Mr. Sinclair, I'm sorry. I didn't expect Amy to do something so extreme." His face then showed worry, and he added, "Her condition has worsened again."
"Hasn't Amy been taking her medication? I heard you were also taking her to see a doctor before. Hasn't there been any improvement?" Alexander asked with concern.
Jared gave a bitter smile. "Mental illness doesn't improve that quickly." He finished speaking and looked intently at Alexander.
Alexander looked back at him and said, "You should take her back home first. This incident will likely worsen her condition. Take good care of her."
"Alexander, don't you have anything to say?" Jared asked angrily, "Amy's condition has deteriorated to this point; don't you feel any guilt?"
