Chapter 281 Alexander Takes Lillian on a Cruise

A Good Night's Sleep.

Adam couldn't sleep well in a new place. He got up early, left the room, took a walk around the villa, and then went for a run on the beach. Ever since Alexander had threatened him to get a job, his life had gradually become more structured. After leaving the warehouse, he started driving for Bradley, and over time, he picked up some good habits, like exercising.

The air by the sea was crisp and salty, with a strong wind blowing. He watched the sunrise slowly and shouted three times towards the ocean. Feeling refreshed, he jogged back.

As soon as he entered the yard, Adam saw a woman standing at the door. He walked over and curiously asked, "Who are you looking for?"

Shae quickly turned her head and, upon seeing Adam, was momentarily stunned before asking, "What are you doing here?"

Adam recognized her and smiled, "Why can't I be here? I'm staying at my sister's place for a couple of days. Is that strange?"

Shae rolled her eyes and started to walk inside.

Adam grabbed her, "What are you doing? Did anyone invite you in?"

"What's it to you? I'm here to see someone. Why do you care?" Shae tried to shake off his hand, clearly annoyed.

"Why can't it have to do with me? Who are you looking for? Alexander, right? That's my sister's husband. What do you want with him?" Adam grabbed her arm and started dragging her out. "Leave, you're not welcome here."

"Don't push me!" Shae said angrily, trying to break free, but Adam held her arm tightly.

As he walked, Adam said menacingly, "Shae, I've heard all about you and Alexander. Don't say I didn't warn you. Behave yourself and stop bothering my sister's husband, or who knows what might happen to you tomorrow."

"You're threatening me? Who do you think you are?" Shae was furious. "Who I'm looking for is my business. If you have the guts, come at me! Do you dare to kill me? I don't even want to live anymore"

"If you want to die, then go ahead and die!" Adam said bluntly. Seeing a red car outside the gate, he asked, "Is that your car? Get in and leave."

Shae didn't want to make a fuss. She couldn't remember what she did after drinking last night, but she didn't want Alexander to see her and Adam in a standoff. Men like to protect weak women, who want to see a strong woman?

Pointing at him, Shae said helplessly, "Fine, I'll go."

She then smiled meaningfully, "But I have a few words for you. I'll remember this grudge. You better hope you never fall from grace. When Lillian gets abandoned by Alexander, don't come crying to me, begging for mercy!"

"Are you still dreaming?" Adam tapped her forehead. "Shut your mouth. Alexander treats Lillian very well. He would never abandon her. Your wish will never come true!"

Enraged by the slap, Shae tried to hit back. But before her arm could reach Adam, he quickly blocked it, grabbed her wrist, twisted it, and pushed her into the car.

"Still want to fight back? Get out of here!" Adam shouted angrily, slamming the car door.

Shae glared at him from inside the car and reluctantly drove away.

"Impressive," Larry praised from behind Adam.

Adam turned to him and sarcastically asked, "What? That's impressive. What are your bodyguards even for? You can't even handle a woman. What does Alexander pay you for?" With that, he walked back inside.

Larry was a bit angry at being scolded but couldn't argue. Adam was right.

In the villa, Gina said to Adam, "Mr. Hill, breakfast is ready."

In the dining room, everyone was there. Adam slowly walked in and sat next to Lisa.

"Adam, where did you go?"

"Went for a morning run on the beach." Adam picked up a fork and started eating, glancing nonchalantly at Alexander.

After breakfast, everyone rested for a while. Kevin came over and said, "Mr. Sinclair, the yacht has arrived."

"Yacht?" Lillian looked puzzled. "Ours?"

Alexander smiled and said, "Of course, it's ours. Harry's family is visiting. We can't just stay at home. Let's head out to sea and have some fun."

"Great!" Lola clapped her hands and laughed.

Lisa praised, "I've never been on a yacht before."

Lillian hadn't either. Coming from a modest background, they had never traveled, let alone had the chance or money to go on a yacht.

Alexander held Lillian's hand and said, "The boat's here. Let's go."

A yacht was docked by the sea, and everyone boarded.

Lillian, feeling unwell, took a glance around before heading into the lounge. Oscar followed Lucas while Harry's family curiously looked around.

The yacht slowly set sail, heading out to sea.

In the lounge, Lillian playfully said to Alexander, "Why didn't you tell me in advance? You gave me a surprise!"

"You're so sweet." Alexander lay down beside her, smiling. "When other people's families visit, they plan all sorts of activities. If anything's missing, they're not happy. But you, you leave everything to me."

Lillian, resting on his arm, smiled shyly and said, "Don't laugh at me. Honestly, I thought we'd just stay home for the weekend-chat, eat, and sit in the yard. I imagined the day would pass quickly. I couldn't think of what we could do by the sea. Catch seafood? Who knew there'd be a yacht? Poverty has really limited my imagination."

Alexander laughed heartily.

"See, I knew you'd laugh at me." Lillian was dumbfounded, really being laughed at.

Alexander said, "Honey, I'm not laughing at you. I just think you're adorable."

"Is it because I'm adorably poor?"

"You're not poor. Your spirit is rich!" Alexander lovingly kissed her cheek.

The yacht sailed aimlessly on the sea as the family enjoyed themselves, playing in various spots and feeling very happy. Lillian, nestled in Alexander's arms, gradually fell asleep.

On Sunday afternoon, Kevin drove Harry's family back.

Before leaving, Adam seized the opportunity to quietly say to Alexander, "Alexander, treat Lillian well. I'll handle any other troubles that come your way."

Alexander knew what he meant and sneered, "Our business is none of your concern. Just take care of yourself!"
