Chapter 382 Lisa's New Home
The day after Christmas.
The night before, Tom joined in the fun, and the three of them stayed late. It was past two in the morning when Alexander finally got into bed. Perhaps he was too excited from the fun; even after getting into bed, he couldn't sleep. He ended up waking Lillian, and after having sex, he was finally satisfied and fell into a deep sleep.
Today was the day they planned to go back to Lisa's house. They both slept until almost noon. Gina came to call them three times, but they still didn't wake up. Finally, it was Kelly standing outside the door, shouting, that woke them up.
Lillian mumbled a response, "Kelly, we're awake."
Alexander held her in his arms and asked, "Honey, what time is it?"
"Oh my! It's already 10:30! No wonder Kelly kept shouting."
Just as Lillian was about to put down her phone, it suddenly rang.
It was Lisa calling, "Lillian, when are you guys getting here?"
"We'll be there by noon."
"Hurry up, Harry is getting anxious."
Lillian hung up the phone and said helplessly, "I think it's you who's anxious. She bought you a big house, and you can't wait to show it off, can you?"
The "she" Lillian referred to was, of course, Clara. Clara kept her promise and bought a four-bedroom, two-living-room house before the end of the year, enough for Lisa's family of four. This made Lisa so happy that she couldn't stop smiling and posted videos of the new house on her New Feed every day.
"Let's get up." Alexander patted her, "We shouldn't be too late."
"Oscar doesn't want to see her. I'm really afraid there will be some unpleasantness today."
Although Lillian had gotten closer to Clara, she still found it hard to call her "Mom." It wasn't awkward, but it felt hard. Whenever she tried to say "Mom," she would blush and couldn't get the word out.
Clara didn't make it hard for her and wasn't a rigid person. She said to her, "If you can't say it, then don't. Everything has a process."
The two of them freshened up, changed clothes, and went downstairs. After a simple breakfast, they called Oscar down, loaded the gifts they bought into the car, and the three of them, holding the baby, headed to Lisa's new home.
The new neighborhood in Ridgewood was very luxurious, so Lisa posted on her New Feed every day. Living there greatly satisfied her vanity.
Clara was still very considerate. Although Lisa's family didn't have a car, she bought two parking spaces, saying it would be convenient for Lillian and her family when they visited. When she told Lillian, Lillian was genuinely touched by her thoughtfulness.
Lisa's home was on the third floor of a multi-story building with an elevator. After ringing the doorbell, they could hear Lisa's very happy laughter from inside.
"Lillian, Alexander, come in!" she complained, "Why are you so late? It would have been better if you came earlier!" As she spoke, she reached out to take the baby from Alexander's arms.
Alexander slightly turned his body, "Lisa, Merry Christmas." He didn't hand over the baby.
Clara had already arrived, her eyes full of affection as she looked at the two babies. She noticed Alexander's reaction and wisely didn't step forward to take the baby.
She then looked at Oscar. Oscar had grown into a tall, handsome young man, with no trace of her late ex-husband.
"Alexander, have a seat. Oscar, you too." Lisa warmly welcomed them and pushed a fruit platter and nuts in front of them, "Oscar, have some fruit."
Clara discreetly pulled Lisa aside and smiled at Lillian, "The traffic was pretty bad, right? Can I hold the baby?"
"Let Grandma hold you." Lillian handed William, who was in her arms, to Clara.
Clara looked at William happily. His chubby little round face and big eyes looked around without crying or fussing, very well-behaved.
"Wonderful!" Clara said excitedly. She wanted to kiss William but restrained herself when she saw Alexander.
"Which room is the guest room? I want to change the baby's clothes; it's really warm in here." Lillian took William back and asked Clara.
Clara led them to the guest room. When they returned to the living room, they saw Oscar playing on his phone. She hesitated for a moment, just about to go over and talk to him, but he stood up and left.
Oscar also went to the guest room, sat in a chair, and asked, "Lillian, can I stay here and play until dinner?"
Lillian was changing the baby's clothes and said, "You're not a child anymore, why are you asking me?"
Alexander asked, "Where is everyone else? Where's Harry?"
Oscar, playing his game, said, "Lisa said Harry went to the neighborhood supermarket to buy something for her. She didn't mention anyone else."
Lillian handed the dressed William to Alexander and continued to change Alexander's clothes. She said, "Oscar, If you don't want to talk to Clara, then don't. Can't you come out and talk to Uncle Harry? It's just half a day; can't you bear it?"
Oscar looked at Alexander reluctantly.
Alexander said, "Listen to your sister. It's not that hard." After he finished speaking, he gave him a look.
"Fine, I'll listen to you." Oscar, after all, listened to Alexander and reluctantly got up and went out.
"I don't know whose brother he is. I won't say anything in the future; it's pointless. You talk to him from now on." Lillian's words sounded a bit jealous.
The two of them came out with the baby, just as Harry came back with some groceries. As he was about to close the door, Adam squeezed in.
Harry was delighted to see the kids back. He asked Adam to take the groceries to the kitchen and was about to hold the baby. Then he paused, walked to the bathroom to wash his hands, and came back.
Adam came out of the kitchen and started chatting with Alexander. Eventually, he pulled him to the balcony to smoke.
"It's still unclear whose side Trevor is on, but he's not a good guy." Adam took a cigarette from the pack and handed it to Alexander.
Alexander waved it off and said in a calm voice, "Then keep observing. What are you planning to do about Camille?"
Adam was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "Trevor and Camille just want to use her. I think we should play along and see what Trevor ultimately wants!"
"How far have they gotten? I'm worried that Camille might be deceived and won't be able to handle it emotionally."
Adam took a deep drag on his cigarette and said helplessly, "He's deceived her both physically and emotionally."
"But Camille brought this on herself! I told her long ago that Trevor was unreliable, but she wouldn't listen. Who can she blame?" Adam said, exasperated.
