Chapter 429 I Haven't Kissed Enough Yet
Caspian, as usual, set the table and asked Jessica, "Jessica, did you sleep well last night?"
"Yeah." Jessica, lying on the bed, looked down at him and asked, "What time did you and Wendy come back last night?"
"Around nine. You were already asleep when we got back," Caspian said with a smile. "Wendy took me to have some Mexican food."
"And did you enjoy it?" Jessica asked.
"At best I love Mexican food."
Jessica chuckled at his words.
Wendy came in after freshening up and saw Jessica laughing. She said to Caspian, "You better not be fooling my mom; her wound hasn't healed yet."
"How could I dare fool Jessica? I'm just telling the truth."
Caspian then said to Patrick, "Patrick, come over and have breakfast."
Wendy asked him, "Have you eaten?"
"No. I went out this morning to buy vanilla pudding. It sells out quickly, so I had to go early."
"Then come and eat with us," Patrick said, inviting him to sit beside him.
Wendy sat by the bed, taking a few bites herself and then feeding Jessica. The four of them sat together, enjoying a harmonious meal.
"Wendy, I've cut the steak for you. Eat it first."
"Wendy, I bought you a blueberry muffin and put it on your plate."
Caspian would say something to Wendy every few bites, as if afraid she wouldn't get enough to eat.
Wendy, while feeding Jessica milk, responded to Caspian's words.
Jessica turned her head and said irritably, "I don't want to eat anymore. Can't even have a peaceful meal!"
"What's wrong?" Wendy said, holding back a laugh. "How about I tell him not to talk anymore, okay?"
Jessica turned her head back, looked at Caspian, then at Wendy, and exhaled heavily. "Are you two still not telling us the truth? Who would believe nothing is going on between you two?"
Caspian glanced at Wendy, not daring to speak.
Wendy said, "Mom, he means well, nothing else."
Caspian quickly added, "Jessica, I even cut steak for Patrick just now, but I didn't mention it."
Jessica rolled her eyes and continued eating without responding.
After breakfast, while they were tidying up, the doctor and nurse came in for a check-up. After a brief inquiry, the doctor said everything was fine and that she just needed to rest.
After the doctor left, Wendy happily told Jessica, "Mom, the doctor said everything is fine. Don't worry, your wound will heal faster."
"It's all removed; I don't have any emotional weight anymore," Jessica said.
Patrick, lying on his hospital bed and looking at his phone, said, "Today is Seraphina's wedding. From the video Aurora posted, it looks lively."
Jessica asked, "Is everyone there? Are we the only ones who didn't go?"
"Seems like it," Patrick said. "Seraphina's husband looks quite handsome, very distinguished."
Jessica, annoyed by the noisy video, said, "Turn it off. It's giving me a headache."
Caspian quietly asked, "Who's Seraphina?"
"My elder Aurora's daughter, getting married today. We planned to attend the wedding after our trip, but things didn't go as planned."
"I get it," Caspian said. "Then we'll have to wait until after you're discharged."
Jessica, with her eyes closed as if about to sleep, murmured, "I told you all, let's attend the wedding first and then go on our trip, but you just wouldn't listen."
Wendy looked at her dad, and Patrick shrugged helplessly. She playfully stuck out her tongue.
Caspian saw that Jessica seemed to be asleep. Patrick's hand holding the phone gradually relaxed and rested on his chest. He pulled Wendy gently to the outer room.
Sitting on the sofa, Wendy turned to face him, tilting her head playfully, and asked, "Why did you pull me out here?"
Caspian put an arm around her waist and said casually, "Of course, to do something naughty." He leaned in as if to kiss her.
"You're so annoying!" Wendy giggled, trying to pull away, but Caspian held her tightly, making it impossible for her to move.
"You can't escape!" Caspian pulled her into his arms and kissed her.
The two of them, sneaking around, didn't dare make much noise. Wendy felt like they were doing something wrong and struggled out of Caspian's embrace.
"What are you doing? I haven't even enjoyed it properly," Caspian whispered teasingly in her ear.
Wendy blushed and whispered back, "How can you be so shameless?"
"It hurts me when you say that, darling," Caspian said, clutching his chest and burying his head in her arms.
The term "darling" made Wendy's heart skip a beat. With him leaning into her, she felt even more flustered.
"Caspian, get up," Wendy said, trying to push him away, but he didn't budge.
"Stop it," she said, laughing at his stubbornness.
Caspian looked up at her from her shoulder and pleaded, "Kiss me, and I'll get up."
"Why are you like this?" Wendy laughed. "You're so naughty."
"If you don't kiss me, I won't get up. If your dad sees this, just know it's not my fault!"
"Alright, I'll kiss you," Wendy said, leaning down to give him a quick peck on the cheek.
But as soon as her lips left his cheek before she could react, Caspian moved, cupped her face, and kissed her on the lips.
Wendy, startled, closed her eyes tightly. When she felt the sweetness of the kiss, she slowly opened her eyes, her arms gently wrapping around his neck.
Caspian, satisfied, ended the kiss. Wendy playfully hit his chest and said, "You're such a liar."
He chuckled, took her hand in his, and they chatted softly.
Their hands intertwined, Caspian took out his phone and snapped a photo.
"I'm posting this on New Feed. Do you think they'll guess it's you?"
Wendy smiled, "Go ahead. I won't post it. I bet Lillian and the others will figure out it's me."
Caspian posted the photo on New Feed with the caption: "No longer alone, thanks to you."
Within five minutes, his phone buzzed non-stop with messages pouring in.
