Chapter 134 Can't Keep Blake
Samantha did not intentionally hold back. She had just taken a call before being preempted by Beatrice.
Samantha sat down beside Linda and asked considerately, "Mom, Dad, how are you both feeling?"
"We're both quite robust," Justin replied, then looked at Ethan and asked, "You were ill around Christmas. Are you better now?"
Ethan said, "I'm fine. Every time I go to Aetherland, I feel unwell. It's an old problem."
"Come with me," Justin said, standing up and addressing Ethan. Then he looked at Ethan's two other sons and said, "Come along as well."
Alexander and Blake followed him.
Once the men left, it became the women's arena. Beatrice tried to impress Linda, but due to her status, she had yet to receive Linda's affection.
Unwilling to accept this, she brought up Rena and said with a smile, "Mom, I took Rena for a prenatal checkup the other day. It's a boy."
Sure enough, the child in the womb touched Linda's heart. Her eyebrows lifted in surprise as she asked, "Really?"
Samantha also looked at Beatrice in astonishment. Beatrice had never publicly shared this news, not even with Ethan. She glanced at Lillian, clearly showing some dissatisfaction. Lillian silently accepted her gaze, knowing she couldn't avoid the questioning.
"Of course, when the doctor told me, I was also surprised. I have always thought it is a girl," Beatrice said with a smile.
"How many months pregnant are you, Rena? When is your due date?" Linda asked.
Rena said, "I am five months pregnant. The due date is in October."
"October is a good time to give birth. It's not too hot, so both mother and child won't suffer," Linda said to Rena. "Now that she's in the middle of her pregnancy be careful with everything. It's cold now, so don't let her go out much, or she might catch a chill."
"Grandma, now that you're back, Mom, Blake, and I have been looking forward to your return. You and Grandpa should stay here. When the baby is born, I'll bring him to see you every day and keep you company," Rena said.
Talking about the child brought a smile to Linda's face. "What can a newborn talk to me about? Once he grows up, he'll surely find me boring."
"Mom, he definitely won't find you boring," Beatrice said, sitting beside her. "Your great-grandson will smile at you every day after he's born."
Lillian noticed Samantha's tense expression and knew she was unhappy, so she kept quiet to avoid being scolded.
"Lillian, you should get pregnant soon too," Linda called Lillian over, "Come here, and sit next to me."
Linda had Samantha on her left and Beatrice on her right. When she called Lillian over, Beatrice had to move aside.
Lillian sat down next to her. "Okay, Grandma."
Linda took a bag of medicine from her purse and handed it to Lillian, saying seriously, "Take this. It will help you get pregnant soon. I took this medicine and quickly conceived Ethan. It's very effective."
Without responding, Lillian looked down at the bag of medicine. She felt resistant.
Samantha urged her. "Grandma gave it to you. Thank her quickly!" Then she turned to Linda and said, "Lillian is a bit shy."
Linda disagreed. "Lillian is quite talkative. On the way back, she chatted with me a lot and made me laugh. I like Lillian very much!"
Samantha forced a couple of awkward laughs, surprised that Linda liked Lillian.
Sitting close by, Beatrice and Rena were listening and making silent eye contact. With a condescending demeanor, Rena massaged her bulging tummy, showing no emotion at all.
In the study, Justin's loud slap sent Blake sprawling to the floor.
"Grandpa!" Blake cried out in pain, clutching his face.
The eighty-year-old Justin, full of vigor, shouted angrily at Blake, "Kneel!"
Ethan helped Justin to the sofa, trying to calm him. "Dad, let's talk this over slowly. Don't get angry."
Alexander moved closer and asked, "Grandpa, what did Blake do to make you so furious?"
Justin took a moment to catch his breath and then said to the two of them, "Don't hide it from me anymore. I know everything he did in Aetherland!"
Blake trembled with fear. "Grandpa, I know I was wrong. I've already apologized to Dad and Alexander. Please, Grandpa, forgive me!"
Seeing Blake's constant pleas for mercy, Justin couldn't help but blame Ethan. "This is all your fault! The Sinclair family cannot tolerate such a vicious ingrate! You handle this matter!"
Though Ethan was still angry with Blake, he had feelings for both Beatrice and Blake. After all, Blake was his first child, and he had poured much love and attention into him. Moreover, Rena was carrying another Sinclair child. He didn't want to lose any of them.
"Dad, I've already given Blake a severe lesson, and Alexander has forgiven him. Let's end this matter here. The harmony of the family is what's most important," Ethan said.
Alexander gave Ethan a deep look, then glanced at Blake and said to Justin, "Grandpa, Dad is right. The most important thing is family harmony."
Unable to tolerate Blake, Justin said angrily, "The Sinclair family has no place for such a malicious person! Even the child in Rena's womb should be aborted. Only the children born to Lillian are recognized by the Sinclair family!"
"Grandpa, I truly know I was wrong. Please don't drive us away!" Blake pleaded desperately with Justin.
He knew Justin was the person who made the decisions for this family. 'Who told Justin about my hidden activities in Aetherland? It must have been Alexander!' Blake looked at Alexander with eyes as evil as a snake, filled with malice as he wondered. Yet, his face still wore a pitiful expression as he begged Justin for mercy.
"Dad, you and Mom just got back today. Let's deal with this matter later," Ethan said, unable to bear seeing Blake like this and wanting him to get up.
Justin sternly said to Blake, "Since you are a member of the Sinclair family, you should support and help Alexander. You had ill intentions towards him and even cursed your father. That is wrong!"
"Grandpa, I know I was wrong," Blake said, now deeply regretting his decision to act against Alexander in Aetherland.
Tired, Justin waved his hand. "I don't want to hear your apologies. I'll watch your actions from now on. You may leave. Alexander, stay."
After Ethan and Blake left, Alexander softly asked, "Grandpa, what do you want to tell me?"
With a grave expression, Justin whispered to him, "Blake is extremely malicious. You must eliminate him!"
