Chapter 434 The Help from Aurora's Family
Green Community.
As soon as the car turned the corner, just as Aurora had said, four people were standing at the entrance of the community, eagerly looking in their direction.
Caspian parked the car in front of them. Jessica and Patrick got out first, both very happy, shaking hands and chatting.
Wendy said to Caspian, "We don't know what time we'll be back tonight, so I'll just take a cab home. You wait for me at home."
"Okay, I'll send you the address later." Caspian glanced outside the car, quickly hugged her, and said, "Text me when you miss me."
"Okay," she replied, turning to get out of the car.
Caspian also unbuckled his seatbelt and said, "I'll get the stuff from the trunk."
The two got out and went to the back. Caspian handed the items to Wendy, and as the trunk closed, Aurora happened to look over.
"Who is this..." Aurora asked Jessica, "Is this Wendy's boyfriend?"
"No," Jessica immediately denied, "he's..."
"Mr. Wade?" Suddenly, Seraphina's newlywed husband, Valentin Dobbins, shouted at Caspian, "What a coincidence! I thought it looked like you!"
Wendy and Caspian looked over and walked up with the gifts.
Valentin hurriedly came up, warmly shook his hand, and said with a smile, "Mr. Wade, I'm Valentin, the Vice President of our company's Atlanter headquarters. We had dinner together at the annual meeting."
Caspian naturally couldn't remember who Valentin was, but he was surprised to find out he was Wendy's brother-in-law.
Seeing that the two knew each other, Aurora smiled and asked Wendy, "Wendy, is this your boyfriend?"
Before Wendy could speak, Seraphina jumped in, "Mom, they came together. Didn't you see them hugging in the car just now?"
Wendy smiled awkwardly, "Seraphina, congratulations on your wedding."
Jessica, with a stern expression, was interrupted before she could say, "He's the driver."
Seeing Jessica remain silent, Caspian politely said, "Hello, Aurora."
Aurora's husband, Aubrey Allen, usually quiet, also spoke up to Patrick, "Patrick, your future son-in-law is quite impressive!"
Aurora happily agreed and invited everyone inside to chat.
Caspian and Wendy walked behind, and he whispered, "Wendy, do you think even God is on our side?"
Wendy glanced at Jessica ahead and nodded firmly, "I think so! Seraphina's husband Valentin knows what to say. Do you even remember him?"
"I'm not often at the company, so I don't know these senior managers," Caspian suddenly smirked, "But this time, he did a great job. I'll promote him to President of Atlanter headquarters when we get back."
Wendy said, "Seraphina also deserves credit. I'll have to give her more gifts later."
As the two were feeling pleased with themselves, Jessica suddenly turned around and looked at them with a cold gaze, scaring Wendy into shrinking her neck and stopping her smile. She gave Caspian a warning look before turning back around.
"Don't worry, Jessica won't do anything at Aurora's house," Caspian comforted her.
Wendy exhaled, "I'm just afraid she'll get mad at us when we get back tonight."
"It's okay, I'll handle it."
Back at the house, everyone sat in the living room chatting.
Jessica said, "I'm sorry we missed Seraphina's wedding."
Aurora said, "Jessica, don't be sorry. When Wendy gets married, you can make up for it."
She then looked at Wendy and Caspian, smiling, "How long have you two been dating? When do you plan to get married?"
Wendy said, "Aurora, we've been dating for less than a year. We want to spend more time together."
"You've been together long enough. You young people nowadays like to do things quickly, don't you? You can date for another two months and get married in September. If you put in the effort, you can have a baby by next year."
Jessica frowned slightly and tugged at Aurora, "Aurora, what are you talking about?"
Aurora said, "Jessica, I think Wendy's boyfriend is great. He's handsome, tall, and comes from a good family. He's a perfect match for Wendy. He doesn't seem like a frivolous person; they should get married."
Jessica said sternly, "Aurora, his name is Caspian."
"Caspian, what do your parents do?" Aurora asked.
Aurora's affection was evident as if Caspian were her son-in-law.
"My parents run their own business. It's not a big deal, nothing worth mentioning."
Aurora said to Jessica, "See how humble Caspian is."
She added, "Caspian, Valentin is a senior member of your company. We're all family, so you should take good care of him."
Caspian smiled lightly, "Aurora, I will."
Valentin felt a bit awkward and said to Aurora, "Aurora, we're at home, let's not talk about work."
Jessica was very dissatisfied but kept it to herself. Seeing Wendy and Caspian smiling made her even angrier.
Suddenly, Seraphina gagged and rushed to the bathroom, with Valentin following closely behind.
Aurora said, "Seraphina has been having morning sickness lately and can't eat much."
Wendy listened to the sounds of vomiting from the bathroom and thought about how tough pregnancy must be.
Jessica said, "It might get better after the first three months of pregnancy."
Aurora said to Wendy, "Wendy when you get pregnant, make sure to prepare well beforehand. Have Caspian give you more nutritious food so that pregnancy will be easier."
"I got it," Wendy said, awkwardly wiping her forehead.
Aurora's house was on the first floor, with a small, well-kept yard in front. Not wanting to continue the awkward conversation, Wendy and Caspian went to the yard to bask in the sun.
"Finally, we're out," Wendy said, sitting in a chair with her legs crossed. "I don't remember Aurora being like this. She seems so different now."
"When was the last time you saw her? When you were a kid?"
"Yeah," Wendy said, "She is more open-minded than my mom now. If we got married this year and had a baby next year, my mom would be furious."
