Chapter 335 Ethan and Beatrice Visit Lillian's House

Amy's attitude left Colin and Paula stunned, not understanding why she was acting this way.

"Amy, you've been away from me for so many years. Do you know how much I've missed you? Please, don't be like this," Paula said, tears streaming down her face as she struggled to hold back her heartache.

Amy's emotions settled as she looked at Colin and Paula. She lowered her eyes, gazing at the now-cold coffee in her cup, and said softly, "Just consider me dead; you'll be fine with Brent. In my current state, I fear I can’t even take care of myself, let alone look after you all."

"Amy, what are you talking about?" Colin said unhappily. "No matter what happens, you will always be our beloved daughter."

"Dad, you signed a confidentiality agreement with Alexander, so you should abide by it. It's best not to break the rules." Amy reminded.

"Amy, are you blaming me?" Colin sighed deeply. "Some things don't need to be said; you're smart enough to figure them out. Neil is now a victim, and his company is in shambles. He naturally wants to seize this opportunity, so of course, he will agree to whatever the Sinclair family says."

"Moreover, there were too many people involved back then, and trying to clear your name is not an easy task and could bring negative consequences for you. So, I agreed to it. If you want to blame me, I have nothing to say." Colin added, lowering his head.

Amy pressed her lips together and managed a faint smile. It was her first smile since they met, and it carried a hint of sadness. "Why would I blame you? Whether my name is cleared or not, I don't care. I've lived through these years regardless; it no longer matters to me." Her eyes softened a bit, and she added, "Mom, your health isn't good, so take care of yourself. And Dad, you should drink less alcohol. You're getting older, so don't overindulge."

Jared looked at Amy, who had calmed down and could speak properly and nodded slightly to Colin and Paula.

Amy held the spoon and absentmindedly stirred her coffee, sighing softly, "It's nice that you live out of town. If you miss me, just give me a call and I'll come to visit you. It's better than you coming back here, where too many people know us, and it could lead to awkward encounters."

"Your father and I didn't plan to return to Rihegde, but now that you're not well, we can't help but worry. Amy, is your illness serious? Let your father take you to Atlanter for a check-up, okay?" Paula asked worriedly.

Amy shook her head and said, "With Jared by my side, you don't need to worry. Live well in Elmrest; I will come to visit you."

Colin gave Jared a deep look, remained silent for a moment, and then said, "Also, visit Neil more often."

"I know." Amy nodded.

"Amy, it's my fault!" Suddenly, Colin covered his face, unable to hold back his tears. "If Samantha hadn't blackmailed me, she wouldn't have been able to threaten you!"

"Dad, it's not your fault!" Amy said through gritted teeth. "It's all Samantha's fault! I won't let her get away with this!"

Seeing Amy's agitation, Colin and Paula exchanged worried glances and tried to calm her down. "Amy, don't do anything foolish!"

Amy's eyes were filled with anger, and she remained silent.

Jared said to Colin and Paula, "Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on her and won't let her do anything rash." He then covered his mouth and whispered, "Amy's condition has been fluctuating recently, and she's not quite herself. I've already brought in experts from Atlanter. Don't worry. I'll keep you informed of any developments."

"I entrust Amy to you. I believe you are a dependable person and will not let us down, right?" Colin asked.

Paula added, "Jared, keep in touch with me often."

"Don't worry, I will. I'll take good care of Amy!" Jared promised confidently.

Amy watched them coldly, a strange, cold smile appearing on her lips.

Having returned from Aetherland with Beatrice, Ethan missed Henry and William, so he brought Beatrice to Lillian's house. They arrived in the evening when the family was having a lively dinner.

"Dad? When did you get back?" Leah asked in surprise, holding her bowl and looking at Ethan standing in the dining room. "Why are you here?"

"I missed my grandsons, so I came with Beatrice to see them," Ethan said, looking at Lillian with a smile. "Beatrice even bought gifts for Henry and William in Aetherland."

"Thank you, Beatrice," Lillian said with a faint smile.

Alexander said to Ethan, "Henry and William are in their room, upstairs. You can go up."

Leah leaned in close to Alexander and curiously asked, "Alexander, are you upset that Beatrice is pregnant? Bernice and I are not happy about it."

"Stop talking so much while eating," Alexander scolded in a low voice.

"I will have a younger brother younger than my nephew; how ridiculous! When Dad takes this kid to kindergarten, people will think he's the grandfather," Leah said, pouting.

Oscar couldn't help but laugh. "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh, but Leah's words are too funny."

"Oscar, you think it's ridiculous too, right? When Bernice's baby is born, my friends will ask me about it, and I won't know how to answer them," Leah said, putting down her bowl and resting her chin on her hand, looking troubled.

Alexander, annoyed, said, "If you’re not going to eat, then get upstairs and stop being a nuisance. Find something to do instead of loafing around all day."

Though angry, Leah didn't dare to argue. She rolled her eyes and said with a smile, "How about I be your secretary? I'm good at foreign languages and have studied administration. It wouldn't be hard for me."

"Sure, no problem," Alexander said with a smile. "I was just thinking of getting a new assistant. Kevin is getting old and isn't as efficient as he used to be."

Hearing this, Leah glared at him. "Alright, I get it!"

After dinner, they returned to the living room, only to see Ethan and Beatrice coming out of the elevator, each holding a child, both of them smiling and playing with Henry and William.

Seeing this, Lillian's heart tightened, and she unconsciously grabbed Alexander's arm and pinched it hard.

"Lillian, Henry, and William are so well-behaved and adorable. I just love them," Beatrice said to Lillian with a smile.

Before Lillian could respond, Alexander walked over, took the child from her arms, and handed him to Patricia. He then turned to Beatrice and said, "Beatrice, you're pregnant now. Don't tire yourself out, or we'll be in big trouble."

"Heather, my dad suffers from shoulder inflammation. Don't let him carry the baby as it might strain him. If he wants to see the baby, make sure the baby is in the crib or car seat. Understood?" Alexander ordered.

"Yes, sir." Heather hurried over and took the child from Ethan's arms.

Ethan, unhappy, sat on the couch and said irritably, "That's my grandson!"

"And that's my son!" Alexander retorted calmly.
