Chapter 66 Joyful Snowball Fight
Lillian helped Kelly put the cutlery into the dishwasher and said, "He always talks to me with a serious look, and it scares me every time."
Kelly advised, "You have to understand him more. As someone in a higher position, he's used to being serious."
"Kelly, you can't always be in his position," Lillian said indifferently, "Actually, I don't care about his attitude towards me. The basic respect is enough."
"Take it slow. I've noticed that Mr. Sinclair's attitude towards you has improved recently, unlike in the beginning," Kelly said thoughtfully.
Lillian thought for a moment and said, ‘Yes, maybe it's because I fell down the stairs before and made him feel guilty.’
"Mr. Sinclair may seem cold, but he's actually very kind," Kelly said earnestly.
Just as they were talking, Melvin came in and said, "Lillian, the security informed me that there's a visitor claiming to be your sister named Lola."
"How did she come here?" Lillian exclaimed, saying, "Melvin, you should go and ask Mr. Sinclair about this."
Lillian wiped her hands, thinking, 'Aunt Lisa didn't come, Lola came instead.'
Melvin went to the study to report.
"Is Lola here?" Oscar felt somewhat uneasy. "She must not be up to any good."
"I heard from the security guard that she came to visit her younger brother," Melvin added.
Oscar snorted, thinking, ‘Does she come to visit me? When did she start caring about me?’
Alexander played with his phone and said to Melvin, "Why are you asking me about this? Anyone can come here, is this place a supermarket? Tell the security guard that if they can't even handle such small matters, they can all quit!"
'Alexander is so imposing,' Oscar cheered in his mind.
Melvin came downstairs and told Lillian, "Lillian, Mr. Sinclair instructed not to let Lola in."
"Then listen to Mr. Sinclair. I'll talk to Lola later," Lillian said indifferently before returning to her room.
Lola's call came soon after.
"Lillian, I can't come in. Can you come out? My mom made a cake for Oscar," Lola said calmly on the phone, showing no signs of anger for not being allowed in.
Lillian explained, "Lola, don't mind it. Last time, Aunt Lisa barged in, and Alexander got angry."
"It's fine. I understand," Lola asked, "If you can't come out, I'll leave the cake at the doorstep and have the security guard deliver it to you."
"Alright. It's difficult to walk in the snowy weather, so be careful on your way." Lillian said.
Although Lillian and Lola grew up together, their relationship was mediocre. Lola used to fight with Lillian and snatch her things. She felt that Lola never treated her as a sister. Since her incident, Lola has never comforted or even mocked her. Lola wasn't nearly as nice to Lillian as Angela and Wendy.
Lola handed the stuff to the security guard and turned around, slowly walking forward.
She thought to herself, 'Hmph, Lillian, you're quite clever, using Alexander as a shield. I know that you're the one who doesn't want me to come in! It's fine. One day, when I meet Alexander, don't blame me for being heartless.'
Marrying into a wealthy family was the dream of many girls, so Lola was very jealous of Lillian for marrying Alexander. Lola believed that since Alexander could marry Lillian so casually, he must not love her very much. As an heir to a wealthy family, Alexander had no shortage of women. She believed Lillian had no charm, so Alexander would eventually grow tired of her. Lola was confident that she could seduce Alexander.
Lillian braved the wind and snow to go to the guardhouse and came back with cake, which she put in the refrigerator. She knew Lola couldn't have come to deliver cake, it must have been about Adam. She thought to herself, 'Lola and Lisa took turns coming to see me, so the next one to come looking for me should be Adam.'
In the evening, the snow was lighter. After dinner, Lillian and Oscar took Luke to the yard to build a snowman and have a snowball fight. Kelly and Melvin watched them, feeling envious of their liveliness. Melvin also came out of the house and helped Luke build the snowman.
Oscar held the snowball launcher, making a lot of snowballs on the side. Luke ran over, picked one up with a mischievous smile, and threw it right at Lillian's backside!
"Hahaha! Lillian, I got you!" Luke clapped his hands, laughing joyfully.
"You dare to hit me. Don't you want to be friends with me anymore? Well, I won't let you off easily then!" Lillian crouched down and quickly formed a snowball in her hand.
The yard was filled with screams and laughter, and it was very lively.
Alexander was getting ready to leave. He stood on the porch, making a phone call.
"Why is it so noisy?" Jackson Crawford asked with a smile.
Alexander chuckled and said, "Your son is having a snowball fight. He's very excited."
"Who is he having a snowball fight with? This kid's voice is quite loud." Jackson said.
Through the phone, Caspian's voice came over, "He is having a snowball fight with Lillian. Your son is on good terms with her."
"I have to go now. Talk to you later." Alexander hung up the phone.
As he raised his head, he saw a snowball flying towards him. He couldn't dodge it before it hit his face hard, covering his face in snow. Alexander was angry and was about to scold, but before he could say anything, another snowball hit him.
"Stop it!" Alexander wiped his face in embarrassment, looked at them, and asked coldly, "Who threw that?"
No one said anything, but they all looked at Lillian.
Lillian didn't expect herself to be so accurate. After throwing the first snowball, she immediately threw the second one. She didn't expect both snowballs to hit Alexander in the face!
Luke burst into laughter. Oscar pressed his lips and looked down, trying to restrain himself from laughing out loud.
Lillian was having a great time. She ran over and used her sleeve to wipe the snow off his face. She said apologetically, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
"Get your hands off me!" Alexander forcefully pushed her hand away.
Kelly had gone back to the house earlier to get a towel and handed it to Alexander with a smile, asking, "Mr. Sinclair, are you going out?"
"Yes, Jackson and Nico are back," he said, looking at Luke and pointing to him. "Go back to your room and change clothes," he said.
Lillian stood there, thinking, 'If Luke's parents are back, does that mean he won't be staying here anymore?'
Luke heard Alexander's words. He came over sadly and asked, "Can we take Lillian with us?"
"Okay," Alexander said, looking displeased at Lillian. He said coldly, "You come with us."
Alexander interrupted the joyful snowball fight. The three of them got into the car and left the yard. Alexander hadn't planned on taking Luke along, but he thought that Luke's parents were returning from their trip and would surely miss their child. Besides, Luke had mocked him for being hit by a snowball, which made Alexander a bit angry.
