Chapter 120 Lillian is Amazing

Hearing his apology, Lillian cried even harder, leaning into his arms and sobbing uncontrollably.

Suddenly, the door was pushed open from the outside. Oscar stood at the doorway, nervously asking, "Lillian, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"

Seeing Lillian in Alexander's arms, he guessed it might be a marital spat and hurriedly tried to close the door, saying, "I don't see anything. You guys continue."

Lillian was immersed in her emotions, crying intensely. She didn't react to Oscar's coming and going, and she was still feeling aggrieved.

Alexander comfortingly patted her shoulder, letting her lean on him quietly. The fragrance from her hair intoxicated him.

A few minutes later, when Lillian's emotions had mostly calmed down, she realized she had been leaning on him the whole time. She slowly sat up.

"Do I scare you?" Lillian asked, embarrassed.

Alexander gave a helpless smile and teasingly said, "You scare me to death. Lillian, you are amazing."

"Go wash your face. You've cried yourself into a mess," Alexander added.

Lillian also felt her face was tight and thought she had embarrassed herself earlier. She quickly lowered her head and slipped into the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, Lillian saw her makeup, which was indeed smudged from crying. But she cared more about her image. She had just accused him so vehemently. Although he had softened his tone, what would he think of her now?

After washing her face, she came out and sat back down across from him, too embarrassed to look up.

"How can I help you with your studies if you're sitting across from me?" Alexander asked seriously, back to normal.

Lillian thought for a moment and said, "Mr. Sinclair, let's call it a day. In my current state, I can't focus on anything."

"Alright, we'll continue tonight." Alexander handed her the test paper and took a workbook from the drawer, saying, "Work on this for now. I'll check it tonight."

"Okay, I'll head down now." She took the workbook without any reluctance and turned to leave.

"Wait." He called after her, saying, "From now on, don't call me Mr. Sinclair at home. Just call me by my name."

"Alexander?" She exaggeratedly opened her mouth wide and nodded. "Okay, I get it."

Leaving the study, Lillian looked back once more, incredulously muttering to herself, 'So, does this mean our relationship has taken a qualitative leap? He won't dislike me or scold me for no reason anymore and will talk to me nicely. Great!' She happily made a 'V' sign and jumped.

She went downstairs to her room, calmed her excited mind, and couldn't help but think, 'When does he start finding me wonderful? So, do I win him over with my character?'

She covered her mouth and laughed. She murmured, "Anyway, it's all worth it. The next ten months will be great."

Ten months was not too long but not too short. Lillian felt a tinge of melancholy in her heart.

At dinner time, Luke came in to call her, "Lillian, it's time to eat."

"Thank you, Luke," Lillian responded cheerfully.

Luke, like a little adult, crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame, extremely dissatisfied, saying, "Lillian, you haven't spent time with me in a long time."

Lillian closed her workbook and apologized, "I'm Sorry. I've been catching up on my foreign language studies lately. I really haven't had time."

Luke sighed. "Is it very difficult?"

"Not really. Alexander teaches very well," Lillian said as she walked with him to the dining room.

"Lillian, you look so tired. How about I give you a massage tonight? I'm really good at it," Luke said considerately.

"Thank you, sweetheart. I'll give it a try tonight," Lillian replied.

Lillian went straight to the kitchen. Oscar was helping set the table while Kelly and Melvin brought the dishes. The four of them enjoyed the meal like a family, chatting and laughing.

In the dining room, Luke was poking at his steak with a fork, having no appetite at all.

"Are you feeling unwell? Why aren't you eating?" Alexander asked curiously as he added some food to Luke's plate.

Luke pouted towards the kitchen and said dejectedly, "It's so lively over there with Lillian. Look at us here. It's so quiet. I want to eat with them."

Alexander also heard the laughter coming from the kitchen and said, "Luke, don't I teach you not to talk while eating?"

"But I like eating over there. I can eat more without talking," Luke said, looking enviously back at the wall.

Alexander couldn't bear to see the child like this. Since it wasn't a matter of principle, he decided to let it go.

"If you really want to eat over there, go ahead," Alexander said.

Luke immediately perked up. "Really?"

Alexander nodded in agreement.

Luke excitedly picked up his plate and was about to get up but hesitated. He sat back down, looking sympathetically at Alexander. "Uncle Alexander, if I go, no one will be here with you."

"I can eat by myself. If you like the atmosphere over there, go ahead and eat. Don't worry about it," Alexander said.

"Uncle Alexander, you're the best!" Luke said, running to the kitchen with his plate and the utensils.

Alexander sat there alone, poking at his food with a fork. With Luke gone, eating by himself felt tasteless. He stopped eating and went upstairs.

After a while, he came back down in casual clothes. As Lillian went out of the kitchen and saw him, she curiously asked, "Are you going out?"

"Yes," Alexander replied indifferently and left.

Lillian stood in the living room, watching him drive away through the floor-to-ceiling window. She felt very happy, 'It is great, no foreign language studies tonight. I can finally do my own thing.'

She happily returned to her room and started drawing comics. She had yet to study them professionally but drew whatever came to mind. After uploading her work, she recounted the day's events and the online discussion was lively.

She was engrossed in reading the comments when her phone suddenly received a text message: [Ms. Hill, remember our dinner tomorrow.]

Michael's name was attached to this message.

Lillian hesitated for a moment. 'Right, if he hadn't reminded her, she would have forgotten.'

Lillian replied: [Michael, I haven't forgotten. Do you want to choose the time and place?]

Michael responded quickly: [Ms. Hill, you choose. You're better at this.

Lillian replied: [Okay.]

Lillian exited the forum and opened a food app. She had briefly looked before but hadn't found anything ideal. She wanted a high-end environment but not too expensive, which was hard to find.

She scrolled up bit by bit, and suddenly, a private restaurant called Global Bistro caught her eye. The restaurant's name was impressive. The dishes looked good, the reviews were positive, and the prices were a bit high but within her budget.

"Let's go with this one," Lillian murmured. "This is the limit of my budget. I hope he likes it."
