Chapter 308 Friends Gather at the New Home for Dinner

Sunday, sunny weather.

Early in the morning, Lillian woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. She glanced at Alexander, who was still sleeping and quietly got out of bed.

In the nursery, Heather and Patricia were feeding the babies. They nodded slightly when they saw her.

"When did they wake up? Did they cry?" Lillian asked softly.

Patricia said, "They just woke up a little while ago. They cried a bit because they were hungry, but they're fine now after drinking some milk."As they were talking, William finished his milk. Patricia picked him up, gently patted his back, and he let out a burp. Meanwhile, on the other side, Henry, who was in Heather's arms also finished his milk.

"Let me hold him," Lillian said, carefully taking William. Her stiff movements made it uncomfortable to watch. She felt quite uneasy herself.

"Mrs. Sinclair, relax a bit. Here, hold your arms like this," Patricia said with a smile, helping her adjust her posture. "Is that better?"

"Yes, my arms were too tense before," Lillian said, holding the baby and playing with him.

After holding William, she also held Henry for a while to be fair.

Alexander walked in at that moment and said, "I woke up and didn't see you, so I knew you'd be here. Why are the babies up so early? They should sleep a bit more."

"They just finished their milk, they can sleep some more," Lillian said, pushing him out of the room.

Back in their room, they lay back in bed and cuddled for a while until Gina came to call them for breakfast.

During breakfast, Alexander suddenly said to Oscar, "Oscar, Just letting you know, I've rescheduled the surgery with Dr. Evans for two weeks from now."

"Really? You got it scheduled?" Lillian said excitedly. "That's great! Did Dr. Evans say anything about Oscar's surgery?"

"For a seasoned doctor, Oscar's surgery isn't very difficult. You don't need to worry," Alexander comforted her.

Oscar, hearing about the surgery, felt both happy and nervous. He said, "I understand. I'll adjust my mindset and go into the surgery relaxed."

Lucas, who was sitting nearby, asked thoughtfully, "Oscar, are you not scared? If you are, I'll stay with you."

"Lucas, you're so thoughtful. I'm not scared. After my surgery, I'll be able to run with you," Oscar said, affectionately ruffling his hair, feeling grateful for all the times he played with Lucas.

"When should we check into the hospital? How about a week in advance?" Lillian asked.

Alexander said, "No need to rush. Three days in advance is fine. Honey, you're getting overly anxious again. If I had known, I wouldn't have told you so soon."

"I'm just happy," Lillian said, looking at Oscar. "Last time, it got delayed because of an accident. I'm afraid something might go wrong again."

"Don't worry, it won't. This time, Dr. Evans is bringing his sister along."

"It's too early to say anything. I'll only be truly at ease after the surgery."

Alexander smiled and said, "Let's eat first."

After breakfast, Lucas dragged Oscar off to play with him again. Heather and Patricia placed the babies in the stroller and took them to the yard to enjoy the sunshine.

The two babies were very well-behaved, sitting quietly in the stroller. Lillian, who was sitting in a lounge chair, turned her head to look at them and smiled, saying, "Why are you two so well-behaved?"

Kelly walked over and teased her, "Isn't it good that they're well-behaved? You wouldn't be able to handle it if they cried all day."

Lillian laughed and said, "No, they shouldn't cry. I won't say it again, okay?"

Kelly tapped her on the head and asked, "What are you planning to eat today with your friends coming over? Barbecue, steak, pasta, or something else?"

"What else?" she asked curiously.

Kelly said, "I don't know either. It depends on you."

"Just prepare some simple home-cooked dishes. They're not outsiders."

As they were talking, Wendy called out from outside, "Is anyone home?"

Lillian peeked out and saw Wendy and Caspian coming over, each carrying a case of beer. Caspian's beer case even had a gift box on top.

Kelly quickly went to open the door and greeted them, "Mr. Wade, Ms. Lewis, please come in."

Wendy walked in first and said, "Kelly, I've told you, just call me Wendy. I'm not used to being called Ms. Lewis. Right, Mrs. Sinclair?"

"Kelly, you don't have to be so formal with her. Just call her by her name," Lillian said as she stood up from the lounge chair.

They set the beer down on the ground, and Caspian, shaking his arms, complained to Wendy, "I told you we should have asked the security to help us carry it, but you refused. My shoulders hurt from carrying it all the way here."

"It's not that heavy. You can carry it yourself. Why bother them? I think you need some exercise," Wendy retorted.

"Caspian complained to Lillian. "The security even offered to take the beer from me, but she refused. Isn't that annoying?"

"Why do you talk so much? I can carry it, and you're a man. What's the problem? Stop whining," Wendy said, rolling her eyes at him.

Caspian threw up his hands in defeat. "I'm going inside. You guys chat."

Lillian pulled Wendy to sit down and proudly said, "Look at my son. Isn't he well-behaved? Isn't he handsome?"

"Of course!" Wendy said confidently. "With you and Mr. Sinclair's good looks, your kids are bound to be adorable."

She took the gift box from the beer case and handed it to Lillian, saying, "I don't know much about buying things for babies. The sales assistant at the baby store recommended this. I thought it looked nice, so I got it for the babies. See if you like it."

It was two sets of fall outfits, and they looked quite nice.

"Thank you," Lillian said. "I'll try them on the babies when I have time and send you pictures."

Wendy looked down at the babies. As an unmarried young woman, she didn't know how to make them laugh, so she just grinned foolishly at them.

"I noticed that you and Caspian seem to have gotten a lot closer over the past month. You were bantering back and forth just now. Are you two together?" Lillian asked, sensing something was up.

"No way! If we were together, would he still argue with me like that? What a joke!" Wendy said, holding the babies' hands. "But we have been spending more time together lately. You probably don't know, but I moved out of my parents' house."
