Chapter 225 Lillian Goes to Angela's House for Bed Rest

After checking on Lillian, the doctor turned to Alexander with a serious look. "Mrs. Sinclair's had another scare. There's a risk of miscarriage."

Kelly was stunned. "Doctor, what's the chance of saving the baby?"

"About forty percent," the doctor replied. "Make sure Mrs. Sinclair doesn't get hurt again."

Alexander just nodded, frowning.

Back in the room, Alexander stared at the sleeping Lillian, lost in thought.

Kelly whispered, "Those two old women chatting tonight seemed shady. Should we look into it?"

She added, "After you left, Beatrice and Rena brought some supplements from Linda for Lillian. They mentioned someone in the neighborhood got stabbed."

Alexander's eyes narrowed, and he sneered. "What a coincidence."

Kelly asked, "Should I call Sinclair Villa now?"

"No need," Alexander waved her off. "Kelly, tell Emily and Michael to head back. Then you stay with Lillian. I'll keep an eye on Oscar."

"Emily won't leave," Kelly said as she left.

Alexander held Lillian's hand and whispered, "Lily, you need to be strong, or we'll lose our sons."

Kelly went to Oscar's room and relayed Alexander's message.

"Michael, you should go back. I need to stay," Emily said, worriedly looking at Oscar. "He was with me when he got attacked. If I hadn't gone to find him, he wouldn't be hurt. I'll stay by his side until he wakes up."

Kelly looked at Michael.

Michael didn't argue. "If you're staying, I'll stay too. I can't leave you here alone."

"You have work tomorrow. Go back," Emily urged.

Michael insisted, "I'm worried about Oscar too. I'll stay tonight."

Kelly then said to them, "Thank you."

Lillian woke up after a bit. Seeing Alexander, she asked, "Has Oscar woken up?"

"Not yet. Emily's with him next door. Honey, you can't keep this up. The doctor said if you get too emotional again, we might lose the baby."

"Really?" Lillian looked at her belly, tears welling up. "You both should be strong. Mommy will control my emotions."

Alexander gently said, "Honey, I want you to rest at Angela's. Being here won't help Oscar and might attract trouble."

"But I want to stay with Oscar and talk to him. Maybe he'll wake up if he hears me," Lillian pleaded, looking down. "I don't want to leave."

"Honey, it's not that I don't want you here. It's just too dangerous. Tonight's attack was aimed at you, and we can't risk it. I'll update you on Oscar. We can video call tomorrow so you can talk to him. I can't let you get hurt. Please, listen to me!" Alexander reasoned.

Lillian, sensing the seriousness and Alexander's worry, nodded reluctantly.

Alexander smiled, wiped her tears, and said, "I'll take you to Angela's soon. I've already talked to her."

"When did you exchange contact info? Why didn't I know?" Lillian asked, surprised.

"I found it in your phone," Alexander teased, tapping her nose. "I didn't sneak around for it."

Lillian pouted, hugged him, and asked fearfully, "Honey, will Oscar never wake up?"

"Don't say that!" Alexander said firmly. "Oscar's strong. He'll wake up."

Lillian clung to him tightly. "I'm scared we'll lose Oscar and the babies too."

Alexander lifted her, his eyes serious. "Listen to me. Don't overthink. They won't leave us! Got it?"

Lillian, calmed by his determination, nodded. "I understand."

Someone knocked on the door, and Kevin walked in.

"We found out who was behind it," Kevin said.

Alexander glanced at him. "That was quick. Since when did Blake's guys become so weak?"

Kevin replied, "It wasn't Blake. It was someone hired by Taylor."

"What?" Lillian was shocked. "Taylor?"

She asked Alexander, "Are you saying Taylor hired someone to cause the crash tonight?"

Alexander didn't answer. "Let's see Oscar first, then I'll take you away."

She nodded, not asking more.

In the ward, Michael was gone. Emily sat in a recliner, staring at the monitor.

"Emily," Alexander called. "You should rest. I'll have someone else watch over here."

Emily said, "No need. I'm not tired."

She glanced guiltily at Lillian. "Mrs. Sinclair."

Lillian looked at her, unsure what to say. Oscar had an accident while with her, and blaming her felt wrong, though the thought crossed her mind.

Lillian walked to the bedside, leaned down, and gently called, "Oscar, it's Lillian. Can you hear me?"

She held back her emotions, forcing her tears back. "Just sleep through the night and wake up early tomorrow, okay? We've come so far together. Don't you want to see my babies born? Don't sleep too long, or I'll be mad!"

She didn't dare say more, fearing she'd break down. She kissed Oscar's forehead, stood up, and said to Emily, "Thank you."

"Lillian, don't say that. It's my fault. If I hadn't gone to find Oscar, he wouldn't be hurt." Emily's eyes were red.

Lillian didn't want to say more. She said to Alexander, "Let's go."

Before leaving, she looked at Oscar one more time, reluctant to go.

On the way to Angela's, Alexander said, "For the next few days, stay with Angela. There will be bodyguards outside. Just tell them if you need anything."

Lillian asked, "Is Angela not going to the clinic either?"

Alexander replied, "Not for now. I asked her to stay home and take care of you, and she agreed."

Lillian looked at him suspiciously, feeling like he was joking.

She thought, 'Angela is so independent. How does she agree so easily to Alexander's request?'
