Chapter 404 Amy Left
"Amnesia?" Amy was shocked and said in disbelief, "How is that possible? I remember everything from before. How could I have amnesia?"
Amy then sternly said to Jared, "Stop lying to me. What's going on? Otherwise, I'll be mad at you!"
Jared sighed and said, "Don't get upset. I'm not lying to you. The memories you've lost are from the past two years."
Hearing this, Amy was silent for a moment, then suddenly said, "Stop the car! I want to get out!"
"What are you going to do? It's so late. Whatever it is, let's talk about it tomorrow," Jared advised.
But Amy insisted on getting out of the car and shouted angrily, "Stop the car now, or I'll jump out!"
Jared, afraid she might do something drastic, slowly pulled the car over to the side of the road and turned to her, "Amy, where are you going?"
"I'm going to find Alexander! I need to get to the bottom of this!"
Seeing her like this, Jared patiently tried to persuade her, "Amy, whatever you want to know, I'll tell you. Alexander is indeed married. Let it go."
"I don't believe it. I want Alexander to tell me himself!" Amy said, quickly getting out of the car.
The long street at night was bustling with traffic and the sound of car horns.
Jared got out and grabbed her hand, saying, "Amy, come back with me. It's too dangerous on the street!"
Amy looked at the passing cars and suddenly felt a splitting headache. She bent over, something trying to come out of her mind but couldn't.
"Amy!" Jared asked nervously, "What's wrong? Is your head hurting?"
Amy looked up and suddenly laughed hysterically, "Leave me alone! I know Alexander won't abandon me! I need to find him. I have so many questions to ask him!"
Seeing her condition worsen, Jared became increasingly worried and tried to grab her, but she suddenly turned and ran off, shouting, "Alexander, wait for me, I'm coming to find you!"
She fearlessly weaved through the traffic. Jared, terrified, dodged the cars to chase her.
Amy seemed to enjoy it, laughing and jumping as she ran down the middle of the street.
"Amy! Amy! Stop running!" Jared carefully dodged the oncoming cars, shouting from behind.
Amy seemed to hear Jared's voice, stopped, turned to look at him, and shouted, "Jared, stop chasing me!"
Without hesitation, Amy turned her head and continued running forward. A car approached with its headlights blinding her. The car couldn't stop in time and inevitably hit her. She flew up like a butterfly and then fell.
From a distance, Jared stood in shock, his ears buzzing, unable to hear any of the chaotic noise around him.
Lillian and Alexander were lying in bed, chatting before sleep. Suddenly, the phone rang. He picked it up and said, "It's Jared calling."
"Hello."
Jared's voice was hoarse, "Alexander, you need to come to Gracemist Hospital right now."
"What happened?" Alexander glanced at Lillian, puzzled.
"Amy had an accident. You and Lillian should come over," Jared said weakly and hung up.
Lillian asked, "What's wrong?"
"Let's go to Gracemist Hospital," Alexander quickly got out of bed, sensing something bad had happened.
In the emergency room of Gracemist Hospital, Lillian and Alexander looked at Amy on the hospital bed, covered with a body bag. They stood there for a long time, unable to speak, not daring to believe what they were seeing.
"Jared, how did this happen to Amy?" Alexander asked painfully, his eyes slightly red.
Jared, with a sob in his voice, said, "She found out you got married and was so shocked that her behavior became even more erratic. She insisted on finding you and was hit by a speeding car while running down the street."
Alexander closed his eyes deeply and slowly exhaled.
Lillian asked puzzledly, "Who told Amy about Alexander's marriage?"
"The girl who was with Leah," Jared said angrily, "If it weren't for her words, Amy wouldn't have known!"
"Cynthia?" Lillian said angrily.
Alexander slowly walked over and gently pulled down the body bag. The blood stains on her face had been cleaned, but her features were somewhat deformed from the impact. He wasn't afraid, carefully looking at her.
She had followed him around since they were kids. Their relationship had slowly grown closer. They had thought they had a lifetime together, but a car accident changed their fate.
His heart ached. Alexander gently stroked her hair and softly said, "Amy, thank you for accompanying me through my youth, and thank you for your love. In the next life, don't suffer like this again."
Lillian felt deeply saddened as well. The deceased was gone, and whatever wrongs Amy had done to her in the past now seemed insignificant.
Seeing Alexander's sorrow, she went over to comfort him, "Don't be sad. Maybe this outcome is the best for her."
Alexander nodded heavily with his eyes closed and covered the body bag again.
"Have Amy's family been notified?" Alexander asked.
Jared said, "I notified them immediately. But her biological parents live far away and can't come quickly. I also notified her relatives, and they are on their way."
"I'll do my part for Amy's funeral."
Jared gave a faint smile, but it looked worse than crying.
"Amy told me that if she died, she wanted her ashes buried under the tree we planted together. She didn't want a funeral and didn't want to hear you cry."
"Then discuss this with her parents, Jared."
Suddenly, Neil Anderson and his wife burst in. After all, Amy had been their daughter for several years, and they had developed feelings for her. Hearing the bad news, they were heartbroken. Seeing her on the hospital bed, they rushed over, wailing.
Jared said to Alexander, "You can go back now. I'll handle things here. I called you because I wanted Amy's soul to see you one last time before it left."
Alexander nodded slightly and left with Lillian.
Back in the car, Alexander didn't start the engine immediately. He sat there, staring at the hospital entrance, lost in thought.
"Lillian, Amy is gone just like that. I can't accept it," he said softly, his voice full of sorrow.
