Chapter 232 Lillian and Alexander Flirting

"Hey Grandma, Grandpa's birthday is coming up. How do you want to celebrate?" Alexander asked.

Linda thought for a moment. "Justin doesn't want anything fancy. Just invite the family for a simple get-together."

"Mom, it's Dad's 80th. We can't keep it simple," Samantha chimed in. "Ethan thinks we should throw a big party. I'll handle it."

"Mom's right. Grandpa's turning 80. It should be special," Alexander agreed.

"Let's ask Justin when he gets back," Linda suggested. "If there's nothing else, you can go. Since Lillian didn't come, I won't keep you for dinner."

Alexander smiled wryly. "Alright, I'll head home for dinner then."

At Angela's place, Lillian watched her in the kitchen. "How much longer till dinner?"

"Almost done. Don't rush me," Angela snapped. "Where's Wendy? She can cook when she gets here."

As soon as she finished speaking, the doorbell rang, and Lillian jumped up. "Wendy's here. I'll get it."

Wendy walked in with grocery bags, wrinkling her nose. "What's that smell? Angela, what are you cooking?"

"She's making soup and prenatal medicine for me," Lillian said. "Why'd you take so long? I was craving your cooking."

"I came straight from the supermarket after work. This is the fastest I could get here," Wendy explained, heading to the kitchen.

Wendy loved cooking and was better at it than Lillian and Angela.

Seeing Wendy, Angela quickly said, "Hurry up. I can't take it anymore," and handed over the spatula.

Wendy washed her hands and took over. "You can't handle these two dishes. Set the table."

The three of them were happy to be together again. Angela and Wendy even opened two cans of beer. Lillian raised her glass of medicine to toast with them.

"Wendy's cooking is really delicious," Lillian said, enjoying her steak.

"Lillian, why are you staying at Angela's?" Wendy asked.

"Things have been unstable. Oscar was attacked, and I had signs of a miscarriage. Alexander wanted me to stay here for a few days," Lillian explained.

"What? Is Oscar okay?" Wendy asked, worried.

"He's out of danger. Just needs to rest. Don't worry," Lillian reassured her.

Wendy sighed in relief. "Poor Oscar."

"How have you been? Has Caspian contacted you?" Angela asked Wendy.

"Since we cleared things up, he hasn't. But now a coworker keeps pestering me. It's so annoying," Wendy said, frustrated.

"People like that are the worst!" Angela agreed, thinking of Tom.

Lillian ate quietly, listening to them vent.

"Lillian's lucky," Wendy said enviously. "With Alexander by her side, she has no worries."

"Shae is my biggest worry!" Lillian shot back.

"Exactly, that's a big problem," Angela agreed.

The doorbell rang again.

"Who could it be?" Angela wondered.

"Maybe it's Tom," Lillian teased with a grin.

Angela opened the door and called back, "Lillian, someone's here to see you!"

"My husband is here!" Lillian exclaimed, putting down her fork and heading out.

Seeing Alexander, she walked over slowly. If she weren't pregnant, she would have run and jumped into his arms.

"Honey!" Lillian said, hugging him and wrapping her arms around his neck. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming?"

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you," Alexander replied, holding her waist and whispering in her ear. "Did you miss me?"

"I missed you a lot," Lillian said, nodding.

Angela couldn't take it anymore and cleared her throat. "Come on, you two. You just saw each other this morning. Don't flirt in front of us. It's unbearable!"

"This is love!" Lillian said, turning to her, still holding Alexander's neck.

Angela shrugged and walked back to the dining room. "I guess you're not eating anymore. Wendy and I will continue. You two can flirt somewhere else."

"Let's go to our room," Lillian said, pulling Alexander's hand and heading to the room.

Since Oscar's incident, they hadn't had any intimate moments, and their emotions had been on edge. Now that Oscar was okay, they could finally relax. As soon as they got to the room, they embraced and kissed passionately.

"Lily," Alexander said emotionally as they lay on the bed.

Lillian, with the last bit of rationality, stopped and pushed him away. "Honey, we can't. Not now."

Alexander exhaled and lay back, enduring the frustration. "I was too hasty. It's okay."

Seeing his disappointed look, she found it amusing and teased him, "Honey, let's just kiss."

"No, I'm already uncomfortable," Alexander said, turning away slowly.

Lillian lay on his shoulder, giggling. "Kiss me."

"Are you trying to make me suffer on purpose?" Alexander said with a helpless smile. "The doctor said we could have sex after three months of pregnancy. We could do it now if you want. Do you?"

She immediately got off his shoulder. "We've been tired these days. Let's wait until we're in better shape. Besides, this is Angela's house. It's inconvenient."

Alexander turned and held her in his arms. "Once Oscar is discharged, I'll come to take you back. I've hired a nurse for the hospital. Emily insists on staying to take care of Oscar, and Kelly is in charge of meals. Everything's fine."

"Now that Oscar is awake, I'm not worried. With you and Kelly, I'm even more at ease," Lillian said sincerely. "Honey, I feel so secure with you. How are you so amazing?"

"Stop flattering me. Just tell me what you want," Alexander said, seeing through her.

Lillian pouted. "You're so annoying. Can't you pretend for once? It's nothing big. Angela and Wendy are planning a road trip, and I want to go with them."

She paused and hesitantly asked, "Is that okay?"
