Chapter 155 Watching a Movie at Home Together
Wendy and Angela teased, "You two should just go home and watch it. No one will disturb you there."
Lillian blushed and smiled. "Alright, that's enough."
After leaving the restaurant, Lillian lingered with Angela and Wendy, chatting and not wanting to part ways.
Angela nudged her. "Stop chatting; he's probably getting anxious waiting for you."
Wendy laughed, "If anything happens between you two, you must keep Angela and me updated."
"You guys should work on your love lives too," Lillian said.
After saying goodbye to her friends, Lillian and Kevin got into the car, and Kevin drove them home.
"Alexander, you were amazing today. You really made me proud," Lillian said with a satisfied smile.
Seeing her so happy, Alexander teased, "And how do you plan to repay me?"
Surprised, Lillian replied, "That's what you're supposed to do. When I'm with you, I make you proud too."
"Is that so? Well, this weekend, I'm having dinner with Caspian. Let's see how you make me proud then," Alexander teased.
"Why is he having dinner with you again?" Lillian asked curiously. "Is he that free? Doesn't he have a love life?"
Alexander replied, "Evelyn dislikes him. She's been fussing over breaking off the engagement. He's moody and wants to hang out with friends. If you don't invite Angela and Wendy this weekend, Evelyn might wear you out."
"Sure, I'll ask if they're free," Lillian responded happily. She then looked at him with a smile and said, "Alexander, you're so great to me now. I used to see you talking so gently to others and wonder when you'd treat me like that. I never imagined this day would come."
Alexander laughed. "What else have you thought about? Spill it."
"I've thought about a lot. I wondered when you'd stop yelling at me and see my worth. It crossed my mind daily," Lillian replied.
"Seems like I was quite a jerk before," Alexander said, scratching his nose.
"But you realized in time that I'm special, so I won't hold it against you!" Lillian said magnanimously, waving her hand with a smile.
Alexander shook his head helplessly and asked, "Want some barbecue?"
Lillian looked over and said, "No, we ate a lot tonight. I want to go home and watch a movie. Do we really have a home theater?"
"Of course, I wouldn't lie to you. What kind of movie do you want to watch?" Alexander asked.
"I want to watch a romantic tragedy. Do we have any?" Lillian said.
"Yes, but I don't recommend it. Crying too much isn't good for the baby in your belly. We need to keep a happy mood," Alexander replied.
"Then how about a period drama?" Lillian asked.
"Don't you want to watch a comedy?" Alexander asked back.
"No, I just want to watch a period drama," Lillian replied.
As the car sped down the road, they chatted back and forth, happy and content.
When they got home, Luke ran over excitedly. "Lillian, where did you go with Uncle Alexander? Why are you back so late?"
"Did you finish your homework? Did you practice the piano?" Lillian asked, touching his little face with a smile.
"I finished my homework and practiced the piano," Luke said obediently.
Linda waved him over and said, "Luke, Lillian just got back and she's tired. How about I play with you?"
"Mrs. Linda Sinclair, do you know how to play video games?" Luke asked.
"I can play Candy Crush," Linda replied.
Lillian followed Alexander to their new room, laughing at Linda's comment. Once there, she changed clothes and headed to the bathroom, which was twice as big as their old one.
"Be careful in the shower. Don't slip," Alexander called from outside.
"I know," Lillian responded.
She quickly finished and came out. Seeing her wet hair, Alexander said, "Dry your hair. I'll be upstairs in the study handling some work."
"Alright, go ahead," Lillian replied, sitting at the vanity and picking up the hairdryer.
Lillian enjoyed her night. After drying her hair, she relaxed on the bed, thinking about their dinner kiss. 'Except for Aetherland, this was my first kiss. First kisses are amazing—when our lips touched, my heart raced.'
Lost in her sweet memories, her phone suddenly rang with a video call from Shirley. She quickly sat up to answer it.
"Why didn't you come to work today?" Shirley asked. "Are you sick?"
Lillian replied, "No, I'm taking a break from work for now. You haven't seen me for a couple of days. Do you miss me?"
"Of course, that's why I'm calling. Seems like you don't miss me at all," Shirley said, sounding a bit miffed.
"Any office gossip these days? Tell me all about it," Lillian asked.
"In our executive office, the new intern Shae is killing it. Everyone in the company knows her now. Even the janitors chat warmly with her," Shirley replied.
"So impressive," Lillian said, then asked, "How's Kaitlyn? Is she swamped?"
"Yeah, sometimes when she's overwhelmed, I help her out, and occasionally Shae does too," Shirley replied. "Are you really not coming back to work?"
"Really, given my condition, I won't be back for now. If you miss me, you can come visit," Lillian replied.
"Sure, I'll come when Mr. Sinclair isn't around," Shirley laughed.
Some things didn't need to be said explicitly. They both understood.
After ending the call, Lillian chatted with Oscar on Facebook for a while. Seeing that he was doing well, she felt relieved. Then, she browsed a forum, chatted with some netizens, and logged out.
Just then, Kelly knocked and entered, smiling, "Lillian, Mr. Sinclair asked me to take you to the home theater. The movie is ready."
"Really?" Lillian quickly got up from the bed, excited.
"Take it easy," Kelly said, hurrying over to support her.
The home theater was in the basement. Lillian followed Kelly inside and was amazed. Alexander hadn't lied. It was indeed a home theater.
Kelly seated her in a comfortable spot and brought over popcorn and juice. After everything was set, Alexander came in and walked over.
"Enjoy the movie," Kelly said with a smile and left.
The lights dimmed, and the movie began.
Lillian covered her mouth and whispered, "I can't imagine the life of you rich people. Do you usually come here to watch movies?"
