Chapter 118 Weekend Language Tutoring

"I have nothing to do with you! What do you want to give me? I don't want anything. Stop bothering me!" Angela said irritably. "If you behave, we can still be friends. Otherwise, don't blame me for not considering you a friend!"

Tom knew Angela's temperament. She was outspoken, and her attitude made it clear that she really didn't like him. He felt a bit down but still tried to stay positive.

"Angela, I don't mean to pressure you. Can we take it slow?" Tom's tone was gentle, not wanting to upset her.

Angela's face was stern. "No. I don't like you, so naturally, I won't like you pursuing me. So, please don't trouble me or make me unhappy."

"Angela." Tom had never met such a straightforward girl, giving him no chance at all.

Angela opened the car door, thought for a moment, then turned to Tom and said, "You're a good person, but we're not a match. Let's be friends. Bye."

Watching her leave so decisively, Tom bitterly touched his nose. "You don't have to explain. Do you know it hurts?"

He got back into his car, thinking, 'Angela doesn't like this direct approach. It's okay. I'll adapt. I'll stay by her side quietly and show up when she needs help. I'll win her over eventually.'

On the way home, Theodore was also thinking about Angela. 'The last time I saw her, she had a fragrance similar to 'her' from that night. Could they be the same person? But tonight, her scent has changed again.' He puzzled.

He irritably slapped the steering wheel. 'I refuse to believe I can't find you. You can't just disappear, can you?'

The next day, it was Saturday, Lillian woke up naturally. She stretched lazily and slowly sat up. It was already nine o'clock.

Luke gently pushed the door open. Seeing her awake, he said, "Lillian, Kelly asked me to call you for breakfast."

Lillian patted Luke's little face. "Good morning."

Luke looked at Lillian's face with concern. "Lillian, does your face hurt?"

"It doesn't hurt once it scabs over," Lillian said with a smile, "Don't worry about me."

After washing up, Lillian and Luke went to the kitchen. Since she was resting at home today, she was dressed casually in pajamas, with her hair down, planning to take another nap after breakfast.

Kelly had already set the table. Seeing Lillian come in, she quickly said, "There's a small bottle of scar cream on the table. Apply it first."

Oscar looked at Lillian's face and shook his head with concern. "I heard from my brother-in-law that all three of you got hurt. That's impressive. Did Wendy get involved? She usually seems so well-behaved."

Lillian sat across from him, applying the cream while looking at her phone. "Angela was being bullied. Of course, we had to help. We're very close sisters. Don't be fooled by Wendy's gentle appearance. She'll fight for her friends."

Kelly came over and knocked her on the head. "Are you proud of that? Don't forget, apply the cream for a week."

"Kelly, you're so thoughtful, knowing what I worry about." Lillian put a muffin in Kelly's bowl.

Kelly smiled. "It is the young master who asks me to give it to you. If you want to thank someone, thank him."

"Get it." Lillian said thoughtfully, "Alright, I'll thank him later."

After breakfast, Oscar took Luke upstairs to study while Lillian took the scar cream back to her room, planning to sleep a bit more.

As she lay down, her phone rang. It was Alexander. She sat up immediately.

"Mr. Sinclair," Lillian quickly answered, "What are your instructions?"

Alexander's voice on the phone was devoid of warmth, straightforwardly saying, "Bring your study materials to the study room."

"Mr. Sinclair, are we going to have a language tutoring session?" Lillian asked.

"What do you think? Since your grades are so poor, you still don't strive to improve!" Alexander asked sternly, "Don't you finish breakfast? What are you doing now? I bet you're lying in bed!" Alexander said.

"No, I'm reviewing vocabulary," Lillian said anxiously. "Okay, I'll be up in five minutes."

After hanging up, she exhaled. Did he install surveillance in her room? How did he know what she was doing? She did not even have a break on the weekend, and she still had to study. She felt so exhausted.

Reluctantly, Lillian changed her clothes, tidied herself up, and went upstairs with her books. On the study desk, Kelly had brought juice and some snacks, making it really feel like a tutoring session.

"First, complete this test paper. I'll give you forty minutes," Alexander said, busy with his work.

"Okay." Lillian sat across from him, her heart pounding as she looked at the questions.

"I've taught you all the question types and grammar on this paper before. If you read the questions carefully, you can do it," Alexander said, finding her distressed expression amusing. It wasn't that hard.

"Get it." Lillian unconsciously bit the end of her pen, glanced over the questions, and slowly started working on them.

Suddenly, she looked up at him and said, "Thank you for the scar cream."

"Focus on the questions, no chit-chat!" Alexander reprimanded.

Lillian lowered her head again. Seriously, she couldn't even say thank you. She grabbed a small cookie and found it delicious, planning to ask Kelly where she bought them later.

He said forty minutes. Although an hour had passed, she still hadn't finished. However, the plate of cookies was empty.

"Mr. Sinclair, do I have to write the last essay question too?" Lillian asked with difficulty.

Alexander, still typing on his computer, sarcastically said, "Lillian, I really wonder how you got into college! Is writing a work report in a foreign language that hard? Write it. Even if you don't know how, don't leave it blank!"

"Alright." Lillian held her forehead with one hand, feeling utterly miserable.

As she was racking her brains, her phone on the table buzzed. It was a call from Lisa.

"Mr. Sinclair, it's my Aunt Lisa calling. Can I take it?" Lillian asked.

"Go ahead," Alexander replied.

Lillian took the phone to the window to answer, "Hello, Aunt Lisa."

Lisa's hearty laugh came through the phone. "Lillian, what are you up to? It's the weekend. Don't Alexander take you out to have some fun?"

Covering the phone, Lillian asked, "Aunt Lisa, why are you calling?"

"Oh, it is nothing much, just the same thing I mentioned before. Ask Alexander to find a job for your brother. Whether it's at the company or somewhere else, it doesn't matter," Lisa replied.

Every time Lillian received such calls from Lisa, she felt really annoyed. Although she wanted to help, Lisa's requests were always too much, making it hard for her to bring them up to Alexander.

"You haven't talked to Alexander about it yet, have you?" Lisa said, pretending to understand. "I know it's a bit difficult for you. Your brother is indeed not very capable and not easy to place. But I think that if he can't get into the company, maybe he can run a small business. How about giving him a shop?"
