Chapter 89 Be More Considerate of Alexander

Lillian, hearing this, pursed her lips in displeasure and continued eating her Maine lobster roll.
Observing her closely, Lucas leaned in towards the table and inquired, "Lillian, did you and Alexander argue? Is he the cause of your current mood?"
"No," Lillian replied calmly, finishing her food and getting up to prepare New Orleans fried chicken for Alexander.
Kelly, noticing her somber expression, dismissed Lucas and approached Lillian, smiling and asking, "Did you have a disagreement with Alexander in Biarritz? You seem a bit down."
Lillian, retrieving chicken from the fridge, muttered, "Not really a fight, just some things he did that upset me."
Kelly, comprehending the situation, remarked, "It might be beneficial for you to show more empathy towards Alexander. Beneath the tranquil facade of the villa lie concealed undercurrents. Given the presence of Eliana and the rest, clashes are bound to arise, whether spontaneously or as a result of long-standing schemes."
Lillian was surprised. "Kelly, do you know what happened in Biarritz?"
"Not exactly, but I can imagine," Kelly replied with a smile. "You and Alexander are a team. If he's in trouble, so are you. And if you support him, he'll be more successful."
Lillian stared at the simmering water in the pot, her mind preoccupied with the recent occurrences in Biarritz. She experienced a sensation akin to being in a film characterized by excitement and surrealism.
"Don't overthink it," Kelly said, handing her a pair of chopsticks. "Look, Alexander wants to eat the New Orleans fried chicken you made. What does that tell you? It's his way of making amends."
Lillian laughed, her attitude clearly disapproving. After preparing the food, she generously sprinkled a large amount of pepper on Alexander's portion, covering it completely, before serving it to him.
Alexander, amused by the excessive pepper, wondered if it was her way of getting back at him.
"That's a lot of pepper," Lucas remarked, "Alexander doesn't like it. Next time, don't put any for him."
"I have to use pepper in my cooking. If he doesn't like it, he can ask someone else to cook," Lillian retorted proudly as she left the restaurant.
In the background, Lucas's voice echoed, "If you don't want it, Alexander, just pass it over to me. I'll have it."
Lillian then retreated to her room, unpacked her clothes from the suitcase into the wardrobe, showered, and reclined on the bed, engaging with her phone. She had already informed her friends in the group chat about her return today and shared the gifts she brought for them, making plans to hang out.
She was chatting happily with her friends when suddenly Lisa called on a video call.
Lisa welcomed with, "Lillian, have you returned to the country?"
Lisa's smile in the video seemed forced. "Yes, I arrived this morning," Lillian replied in a flat tone.
During her time in Biarritz, Lisa had been messaging her frequently, always asking when she would return.
"Then come back with Alexander tomorrow. It's already the eighth day," Lisa said incessantly.
"These days, Harry has been talking about you and Oscar. He's been saying that he's uncomfortable because he hasn't met your husband yet."
Lisa's mention of Harry made Lillian feel a twinge of guilt. After all, Harry had always been kind to her and her younger brother. It was time to go back. Besides, as long as they didn't return, Lisa would keep expecting it and bothering her about it.
"Alright, I'll talk to Alexander and try to come back tomorrow."
Lisa's face lit up with joy, and she repeatedly said, "Great, come back early tomorrow!"
After hanging up the phone, Lisa breathed a sigh of relief and went back to the room, telling Harry, "I just called Lillian, and they're coming back tomorrow."
"Really?" Harry, who was resting in the room, sat up happily upon hearing Lisa's words and said, "We should prepare a sumptuous meal for tomorrow."
"You seem happy," Lisa teased, "I got it."
Camille returned from outside at this moment and heard Harry's words as she walked in, smiling and asking, "Dad, who's coming tomorrow? You seem so happy."
"Your sister and Alexander are coming back tomorrow," Harry replied.
Camille's heart skipped a beat, and she responded before heading back to her room. She sat on the bed, pondering that the next day when Alexander came, it was her chance to make a good impression. She had to ensure that Alexander would remember her!
For dinner, Kelly prepared a table full of dishes that Alexander and Lillian loved. It was the first time they had a meal at home after the holiday.
The ambiance around the table was vibrant. Alexander didn't adopt his typical CEO persona in the presence of Kelly and Quentin; instead, he appeared more like a family member, relishing a drink with Quentin. Oscar sat beside him, participating in a range of discussions.
Lillian took care of Lucas, and they had plenty to talk about as well.
After dinner, Quentin had a few too many drinks and was assisted by Kelly to his room.
Alexander, however, continued chatting with Oscar. Lucas went upstairs to play. Lillian tidied up the tableware, thinking about how to explain the matter of going home tomorrow to Alexander.
After cleaning the kitchen, she brewed some coffee and brought a pot to Quentin's room before taking another pot upstairs. Alexander was in a good mood today and was playing with Lucas in the children's room.
Lillian brought the coffee back to her room and then went to the children's room.
Oscar inquired, "Alexander, when are you and Lillian planning to give me a baby brother?" Lillian was on the verge of entering the room when she caught wind of Lucas and Alexander's discussion. Intrigued, she lingered in place, immobile.
Alexander replied, "Lillian and I are not having a baby brother."
Oscar said, "Why not? A baby would be fun to play with."
Alexander asked, "Who told you that?"
"Samantha said that in the future, I would have to take care of my baby brother and that you and Lillian would have one soon."
Lillian, outside the door, rolled her eyes in exasperation. What was Samantha thinking, saying such things to the child? Alexander inside must be equally speechless.
Alexander said, "That's not something you should be concerned about. Alright, it's getting late. You should go back to your room and sleep."
Lillian knocked on the door and said to Lucas, "It's time for your shower."
After they had all finished getting ready for bed, it was almost ten o'clock. Before going to sleep, she hadn't forgotten to bring Lillian's pillow and resumed the "three in a bed" mode.
Lillian lay next to him, attentive to his steady breaths, a sign that he had drifted off to sleep. She then glanced at Alexander, who lay beside her, uncertain if he was in slumber. His chest moved rhythmically with each breath.
"Alexander, Lisa called me today and asked us to go back tomorrow. I agreed. Can you take the day off tomorrow and come with me?" Lillian asked.
