Chapter 322 Feeling a Bit Sorry for Her

Feeling deeply insulted, Samantha swore, "If I do that, may God strike me down!"

Lillian looked at Samantha in surprise and silently gave her a thumbs up, admiring her courage.

"Do you think swearing an oath is going to make us believe you?" Neil, overwhelmed with emotion, rushed over and attempted to grab Samantha. "It's fine if you don't want to admit it. Let's go to the police station and talk there!"

'You resorted to violence? What do you take the Sinclair Villa for? This is not a place for you to throw tantrums and act up! Even if there were an issue, it's not your place to take matters into your own hands and make judgments!' With this thought, Alexander signaled to the bodyguards in the corner. Following the order, the bodyguards emerged from the shadows and, without a word, dragged Colin and Neil out.

Unwilling to comply, Neil shouted, "The Sinclair family is throwing their weight around. Do you think you can get away with such a vicious act? Samantha, just wait; you will eventually face the full force of the law!"

Furious, Justin yelled, "Get them out of here quickly!"

Soon, the hall returned to silence.

Feeling wronged, Samantha cried softly and said to Justin and Linda, "Dad, Mom, I didn't do that!"

Linda looked at her in doubt. Having known Samantha for thirty years, she understood her character and didn't believe she could do such a thing.

Justin also looked at her and said coldly, "Whether you did it or not, they are determined to blame you. You'd better stay home and behave for now." With that, he turned to Alexander and said, "Alexander, handle this matter before it gets out of hand!"

"Yes, Grandpa," Alexander said.

After Justin finished speaking, he went upstairs with Linda's support.

Samantha held her forehead, looking exhausted as she leaned on the sofa. Lillian, with impeccable timing, went upstairs to check on the children, leaving Samantha and Alexander time to talk alone.

"Alexander, do you think this was Beatrice's plan?" In front of Alexander, Samantha shed her facade and revealed her true colors. As she meticulously contemplated and pondered, her thoughts continually circled back to Beatrice.

Looking serious, Alexander didn't answer Samantha's question but instead asked, "Was the photo of that contract real?"

Samantha sighed in frustration, "The content is real!"

'I am puzzled The lead surgeon from those years has long since settled in an unknown country and has never returned. Even I don't know where he is, so how could the mastermind have found him? It shows that the mastermind has considerable power!' Samantha thought.

"It wouldn't be surprising if it was Beatrice," Alexander said slowly, clearing Samantha's doubts. "Earlier, the bodyguard reported that Beatrice had a relative come to Ridgewood. This person is quite capable. When he first arrived, the bodyguard tried to follow him to understand his situation but was completely outwitted. It seems likely that he is involved in this matter."

"A relative? How come she never mentioned it?" Samantha looked confused.

"Mom," Alexander looked up at Samantha, "do you believe that's her relative?"

Samantha instantly understood. "Did she bring him to investigate the car accident? If this person is so capable, he must have found the chief surgeon too, right?"

Alexander nodded silently. Seeing Samantha's anxious expression, he said, "Don't worry about it; just adamantly insist it wasn’t you. After all, Neil isn't really after the truth!"

Samantha frowned. "Then what does he want?"

"His company has long been a hollow shell, burdened with millions of dollars in debt, with creditors knocking on the door daily. How coincidental that your actions were discovered at such a critical moment? The mastermind behind this truly has a knack for seizing the opportune moment." Alexander said.

Still dizzy from the earlier shock, Samantha listened to Alexander and worriedly asked, "So do we have to give him millions of dollars?"

Alexander gave Samantha a helpless look and said, "You should go upstairs and rest. I'll ask the maid to make you some soup." He escorted Samantha to her room, then went to the study to see Justin, and finally returned to his room.

Lillian was lying on the bed, resting with her eyes closed. Hearing him come in, she turned to look at him and asked, "Have you finished talking with your mother?"

"She's a bit tired, so I asked her to go rest." Alexander loosened his tie and threw his suit jacket onto the sofa.

Lillian sat up, a bit worried, and said, "Did you check on grandparents? They must be very upset!"

Alexander sat beside her, tiredly rubbing his temples, and said, "I just came back from seeing them."

"What did grandpa say? Is he very angry with your mother?" Lillian asked.

Alexander sighed deeply, both angry and helpless. "What my mother did back then would make anyone angry! She kept it from everyone. Those were two living lives; how could she be so ruthless?"

He was very resentful of Samantha's actions, but he could only help clean up the mess.

Lillian held his hand and said understandingly, "Honey, don't be upset. Since the truth is already out, let's look ahead and figure out what we should do next."

Alexander sneered, "The Andersons merely seek financial compensation. What he wants is irrelevant; the key is whether he's worth the price. He claimed that not alerting the authorities was to preserve the reputations of both families, but in reality, he knew that reporting it wouldn't benefit him either."

Lillian exclaimed indignant, "I think Neil is clearly after money. He doesn't show any sadness or pain over his daughter's death, just keeping questioning Samantha, with calculation in his eyes."

"Shae was never valued in the Anderson family. Now that the Anderson Group is about to collapse, Neil has seized this opportunity to demand money." Alexander said.

"And what about Amy? Did she develop bipolar disorder?" Lillian asked with concern.

Alexander nodded slightly. "Yes, after the car accident, when she was sent abroad, her condition worsened. Ultimately, it was this incident that triggered it. My mother caused her illness!"

When he mentioned Amy, guilt was etched on his face, and even Lillian couldn't help but feel that Amy was the greatest victim in all of this. Lillian's kind heart led her to think that, setting aside the harm Amy had previously caused her, Amy genuinely deserved sympathy. Perhaps all the extreme actions she had taken were a result of her illness.

"Honey," Seeing him lost in thought, Lillian called him, "What are you thinking about?"

Alexander smiled at her, touched her head, and said, "Don't worry, I wasn't thinking about Amy, just wondering if my mother owes her an apology and if we should do something to make amends."

"But will your mother apologize?" Lillian doubted.

Alexander smiled bitterly. "No, she won't."

It must be said that the members of the Sinclair family possessed exceptional mental fortitude. Despite the day's unpleasant events, the atmosphere of the family reunion dinner remained unspoiled. Everyone raised their glasses and laughed together joyfully.

As they were enjoying their dinner, Melvin walked over, hesitantly saying to Justin, "Sir, Mr. Ethan Sinclair and Mrs. Beatrice Sinclair are back. They're in the living room."
