Chapter 116 Billy to the Rescue
Charles suddenly remembered the night before their divorce. Diana had drugged him. He only remembered it as a night of passion, and they did indeed make love.
He couldn't help but think, 'If Diana got pregnant that night, why doesn't she show any signs? No morning sickness, no weight gain. She even goes through kneeling, falling into the water, and drinking alcohol during her pregnancy.'
The more Charles thought about it, the quieter he became. All these things that hurt Diana were his doing.
Diana never mentioned she was pregnant, not even when she was begging him; she never thought of using the kid as a bargaining chip.
A complex emotion filled Charles' chest as he suddenly remembered what he had said before, "I will never let you give birth to my kid. Even if you do, I will kill it with my own hands."
Diana never mentioned the existence of the kid, probably because she remembered this sentence. So, she didn't want the kid and went for an abortion.
Thinking of this, Charles' heart tightened suddenly, and he clutched his chest. He felt very inexplicable; indeed, he shouldn't be so angry.
But knowing that Diana had decided to have an abortion on her own, Charles felt not only anger but also anxiety, thinking, 'Diana, if this kid is gone, I won't let you off!'
In the operating room, Diana was strapped to the bed, watching the busy doctors in front of her.
Diana spoke, "What are you going to do?"
The doctor examined the syringe in his hand and slowly approached the bed. The needle tip looked particularly cold under the light.
Diana suddenly struggled, kicking and thrashing, her voice sharp. "What are you doing! Stay away from me!"
She kicked a nurse right next to her in her panic.
Two doctors stepped forward to hold her legs down, whispering, "Don't move!"
Diana couldn't struggle free and watched helplessly as the cold liquid was injected into her body.
Within minutes, she felt her consciousness weaken and fell asleep.
The medical staff finally breathed a sigh of relief. "She's really strong. Good thing the anesthesia worked."
"Alright, let's get started."
Just as they began to disinfect, there was a loud noise from the operating room door.
They paused and turned to look at the door.
The next second, the entire door was kicked open, and a group of men in black stormed in.
They grabbed the medical staff and pinned them to the ground.
"Who are you? Let go!"
Billy stepped in, his usually gentle face now terrifyingly grim.
He kicked one of them and said coldly, "What did you do to her?"
Realizing Billy was not to be messed with, they quickly replied, "We didn't do anything! She's fine, just asleep!"
Billy approached the sleeping Diana and gently shook her shoulder. "Diana! Wake up!"
But despite Billy's increasing strength and volume, Diana showed no signs of waking up.
The nurse beside him quickly added, "We really didn't do anything. This lady just fell asleep after being given anesthesia."
Hearing this, Billy felt slightly relieved.
It was really close; he had suddenly received a location message from Diana while at the hospital.
Though puzzled, Billy didn't ignore it and brought a group of people to find her.
Sure enough, Diana was in danger again.
Billy was fuming but also relieved he wasn't too late. "You say you did nothing? Then why the hell did you give her anesthesia?"
They stammered, too scared to speak. They were just doing a job for money, but Billy's intense and protective demeanor made it clear he was not someone to mess with. They all regretted taking on such a troublesome job.
Sensing their silence, Billy lost patience and signaled with his hand. The men in black grabbed their collars and slapped them until their eyes began to glaze over.
The leader, not wanting to be hit anymore, confessed everything. "I'll talk! Don't hit me! I'll tell you everything!"
The men in black stopped, giving him a moment to catch his breath. "Someone hired us to perform an abortion on this lady. They said she was a mistress. But we didn't have time to do anything; we just gave her anesthesia and changed her clothes before you arrived."
Billy's eyes turned cold. "Who hired you?"
The leader shook his head, not knowing the exact name. But to avoid being hit, he described Nathan and the others' appearances.
Billy, not familiar with Diana's family, couldn't immediately guess who it was. For now, getting Diana out was the priority.
These people said her kid was fine, but with the anesthesia, no one knew if it had any effect on the kid.
Billy bent down, gently cradled Diana in his arms, and turned to the men in black. "Detain all of them until I give further orders!"
Everyone bowed respectfully and said in unison, "Yes!"
After Billy went downstairs, Clara and Mia emerged from the corner.
Mia, barely daring to breathe, clutched Clara's arm. "Clara, who is that? Why did he take Diana away?"
Clara swallowed, her heart pounding uncontrollably. "He's the heir to the Richardson family, Billy Richardson. Diana has a connection with him."
Earlier, Clara and Mia had been pacing near the operating room when Billy stormed in with a group of people and kicked the door open without hesitation. They were so frightened they didn't dare to intervene.
Mia had wanted to argue with Billy, but Clara, recognizing him, immediately pulled Mia back. They hid in a corner, quietly observing their movements.
Hearing his identity, Mia panicked. "What do we do now? Will they trace it back to us?"
Clara wasn't sure, but she knew Charles didn't know the whole story. Cold sweat beaded on Clara's forehead as she stammered, "I... I don't know, it should... be fine."
Seeing Clara's hesitant demeanor, Mia realized she was unreliable and quickly called Nathan, telling him to leave the hospital immediately.
After the call, she dragged Clara downstairs.
When Charles arrived, he ran into Billy. Diana was covered with Billy's coat, only a limp hand exposed.
Charles hurried past Billy, not having time to deal with him. When he reached the operating room, he found it in chaos.
Charles looked at the scattered instruments and the tools clearly meant for an abortion. His scalp tightened, and he gritted his teeth. "Where is she?"
Nolan didn't dare speak and could only call Clara. It took two tries before the call connected.
Charles grabbed the phone, suppressing his anger. "Where is Diana?"
Clara, trembling, whispered, "Diana was taken by Mr. Richardson. She..."
Before Clara could finish, the call was abruptly cut off.
