Chapter 360 Where's My Dad?

"I know it's tough to believe right now, but I really am your grandmother, and you're my grandson."

Elise pulled her hand back, her voice softening a bit.

As she finished, the man next to her took out a photo from his pocket.

"Benjamin, check this out. We're not making this up. The person in this picture is your dad."

Benjamin took the photo cautiously. The man in it had sharp features and intense eyes.

Looking closer, he did see a bit of himself in the man. Next to him stood Elise, who claimed to be his grandmother.

"You've been with your mom since you were little and never met your dad, right?" Elise said slowly.

Benjamin stared at her, staying silent.

She went on, "This is your dad, five years ago. Your mom met him at a party. But I didn't approve of her background, so I paid her to leave. I had no idea she was already pregnant with you. I only found out recently that I had a grandson. I sent people to find you, but you weren't at your old place anymore."

Elise's face darkened, her eyes filled with anger. "If I hadn't kept tabs on Charles, I wouldn't have known he had you locked up in his house. Luckily, it's not too late. You're home now, and you'll be safe with me."

She reached out to pat Benjamin's arm, but he pulled away.

Elise's long explanation didn't move Benjamin. It felt like she was talking about someone else, some kid his age who was supposedly his cousin.

Since he was old enough to understand, Benjamin knew his real father was Charles. But for now, he had to keep Elise calm and look for a chance to escape.

"You broke up my mommy and dad. My mommy raised me all by herself. Why should I go with you?"

He huffed and turned his head, acting defiant.

Though he was blaming Elise, he was also acknowledging his identity.

Elise was surprised at how quickly the young boy grasped the situation. She sat on the edge of the bed, her attitude gentle.

"I'm sorry. I was wrong back then. But I didn't know your mom was pregnant. If I had known, I would never have let her leave with you. Can you forgive me, sweetheart?"

She held his hand and gently stroked it.

Benjamin pursed his lips, staring at her with his big, thoughtful eyes.

Despite Elise's gentle demeanor, her past actions didn't paint her as a good person.

If there was a child, that woman wouldn't have to leave; wasn't she just being used as a breeding machine?

Now Elise wanted her grandson back, surely for a reason.

Benjamin didn't know what Elise's plan was. He pulled his hand back and tilted his head, asking, "Why did you bring me here? I want my mommy."

Elise's expression faltered slightly. His mom was just a waitress, not good enough for Zachary.

But Benjamin, growing up under Charles' watch, was a surprise.

Once his identity was revealed, he would become a candidate to inherit the Percy Group.

Elise thought, 'Charles, even if you kept Zachary abroad, what good did it do? Your child is gone, your ex-wife is dead. You're destined to be alone for the rest of your life!'

"I haven't found your mom yet. How did you end up in the Rainbow Federation? Did you get separated from her? Tell me where she is, and I'll bring her here to reunite with you."

Elise's smile was warm but had a sinister edge.

Reuniting mother and son was a lie; getting rid of his mother was the truth.

Benjamin shook his head. "I don't know. I just woke up here."

He no longer seemed as sharp as before, playing dumb.

Elise didn't mind. It was better if that woman never showed up. If she dared to, Elise wouldn't hesitate to be ruthless.

"No worries. Are you hungry? I had the chef make some snacks. Want something to eat?"

Elise asked softly, then turned to the man and said, "Bring the toys over for Benjamin to play with in the room."

"Yes, Mrs. Percy."

The man was about to leave when Benjamin spoke up, "Can't I go out? Do I have to stay here?"

Elise hesitated. It wasn't that he couldn't go out, but she feared he might run away.

But with so many servants around, they should be able to keep an eye on a child.

She smiled slightly, "Of course you can."

Under their watchful eyes, Benjamin climbed out of bed and followed Elise, waiting for her to lead the way.

Elise was pleased with Benjamin's obedience and held his hand as they went downstairs.

The decor here was far more luxurious than the Percy Mansion, and the area was much larger.

Golden animal statues lined the hallway, and expensive paintings adorned the walls. The massive crystal chandelier sparkled even in daylight.

As they walked to the living room, most of the servants bowed their heads in greeting, avoiding eye contact with Elise.

When they saw Benjamin, they quickly greeted him and returned to their tasks.

Benjamin curiously looked around and said, "This house is huge, bigger than Mr. Percy's."

Elise was clearly pleased with his comment, a hint of pride flashing across her face.

Charles' house couldn't compare to the Percy Manor.

This house was chosen by Charles' grandfather, and the entire forest behind it belonged to them.

A river in front of the villa separated them from the city's noise, and ordinary people could only gaze at them from across the river.

"Of course, all of this is ours. You can choose any room to be yours." Elise replied.

Benjamin shook his head, "I don't want to choose right now."

He wasn't planning to stay here, so why choose a room?

"Alright, it's up to you."

Elise smiled and handed him a toy car, "Go play. Everything here is yours."

Benjamin had outgrown toy cars, but under Elise's intense gaze, he pretended to study the toys.

Unlike other kids who made noise while playing, Benjamin was very quiet, almost too quiet, which Elise found unsettling.

Boys his age were usually mischievous. What was wrong with Benjamin?

"Don't you like these toys?" She asked.

"I do. They're interesting."

But his expression didn't match his words.

Benjamin realized this wasn't working. He decided to play with the toys while chatting with her, hoping to gather more useful information.

With this in mind, Benjamin asked, "Can I ask where my dad is now?"
