Chapter 232 Clara Arrives

The two didn't chat for long before Evelyn nudged Diana to head home.

Even though Jacob let them go out without bodyguards today, he still set a curfew for their outing.

Right now, the car was already parked at the park entrance, waiting for them to hop in.

Diana and Billy said their quick goodbyes, then Diana, holding Snowy, returned to The Percy Mansion with Evelyn.

But as soon as they reached the entrance, they spotted an unexpected guest by the roadside—Clara.

It was winter, and she was barely dressed for the cold, hugging her knees as she sat there. She looked so frail it made you want to help her.

As the car got closer, her eyes lit up. She jumped up and rushed to the back door, knocking urgently on the window.

"Mr. Percy, please meet with me. I just need to say a few words," she pleaded, tears streaming down her face, shivering in the wind.

Clara was at her wit's end.

Diana had promised to let them go, but that only covered Nathan's intentional injury case.

They barely had a few days of peace before they were dragged back to court.

This time, it was for "embezzlement of funds."

No matter how they tried to hide, Diana always caught them.

After Nathan got arrested, Mia thought about running away with Clara, but their assets were frozen, tying the three of them together.

Clara couldn't accept this. She sought help everywhere, but no one would help.

Entrepreneurs who used to be friendly with the Williams family now avoided them like the plague.

At this point, only Charles could save the Williams family.

But the receptionist at the Percy Group turned her away, so Clara tried her luck at The Percy Mansion.

She had been waiting at the entrance for over an hour, and Jacob wouldn't let her in.

Now that a car was coming in, Clara instinctively thought it was Charles returning.

So she tried to look as pitiful and haggard as possible, hoping to soften Charles's heart.

Unfortunately for her, it was Diana in the car, and she saw right through Clara's act.

The bodyguard in the driver's seat frowned. If he stepped on the gas, he would surely knock Clara down.

"Ms. Spencer, please wait a moment. I'll get out and drive her away."

"No need, I'll handle it." Diana raised a hand, tucking her hair behind her ear as the window rolled down.

Clara's tear-streaked face came into view.

Diana smiled lightly, her tone cheerful, "Long time no see."

"Why is it you!" Clara, who had been crying, raised her voice sharply upon seeing her, almost screaming.

Her facial muscles twitched uncontrollably, finally settling into an unpleasant expression.

Diana smiled slightly, her tone calm, "Why wouldn't it be me? I owe my presence here to you."

If Clara hadn't tattled back then, Diana wouldn't have lost her freedom.

But in Clara's eyes, everything had changed. She thought that even if Diana was pregnant, Charles wouldn't like her and would at most keep her outside.

But now Diana was at The Percy Mansion, no different from before the divorce!

Why could she get everything without any effort!

Clara's intense emotions overwhelmed her mental defenses, making her ears ring.

All she could see was Diana's slightly mocking smile.

The next second, she suddenly reached out and grabbed Diana's neck. "Diana! You bitch!"

She moved so fast that even Evelyn and the bodyguard didn't react in time.

The strong sense of suffocation made Diana frown tightly. She instinctively grabbed Clara's hand, trying to break free.

"Ms. Spencer!" Evelyn exclaimed, rushing forward to help.

The bodyguard quickly got out of the car and dragged Clara away from the outside.

The commotion didn't last long, ending with Clara pinned to the ground by the bodyguard.

Even while restrained, Clara kept shouting, "I'll kill you! It's all your fault I'm like this. You took the shares and still won't let us go. You deserve to die!"

Before Diana could say anything, Evelyn snapped, "Shut up! This is illegal!"

She quickly realized her words lacked authority and wanted to say more, but Diana, who had regained her composure, pulled her back.

Diana touched her neck and opened the car door. She then slowly walked up to Clara and said, "The shares were bought with my money, not given for free. You shouldn't blame me for reporting your father; instead, you should tell him to follow the law."

Diana's tone was calm, but her gaze was fixed on Clara, showing no sign of backing down.

As the distance between them closed, Diana bent down slightly. She raised a hand and patted Clara's cheek.

The sound was crisp and abrupt, not very painful but extremely humiliating.

Under Clara's resentful gaze, Diana's lips moved slightly, and she said coldly, "And what you just did is enough for me to send you to jail. Do you want to join your father?"

Her tone was drawn out, sounding mocking. It was like a blow to Clara's head, making her realize.

Indeed, she came here to plead, not to kill!

She couldn't go to jail; if she did, the Williams family would be truly finished.

Thinking of this, Clara's strength drained almost instantly, and she slumped to the ground.

Her once-high head lowered, and her body trembled slightly, whether out of fear or anger.

The next second, she muttered, "I'm sorry; it's my fault."

Sensing her lack of resistance, the bodyguard behind her released his hold.

Diana, who had been standing in front of Clara, seeing her in this state, snorted and didn't respond. She turned and got back into the car.

The next second, she closed the car door and said coldly, "Let's go."

Clara's apology was no different from crocodile tears.

She would never think she was wrong; she just knew that if she didn't apologize, it would be over.

But Diana still wanted to play a bit longer, so she didn't pursue the matter.

The car started again, and the gates of The Percy Mansion opened automatically.

Clara sat on the ground, watching the car's silhouette.

Her hand, hanging by her side, gradually clenched into a fist. Her nails dug deep into her flesh, and the pain stimulated her nerves.

She muttered under her breath, "Diana, I will make you pay!"

As the car drove into the mansion, Evelyn helped Diana out of the car.

Jacob, who had been smiling, changed his expression the moment he saw her, "Ms. Spencer! What happened!"

He raised a hand, pointing at Diana's neck.

Her skin was already delicate, and the red marks on her neck were particularly glaring.

Diana instinctively touched her neck and said, "It's nothing; it'll go away soon."

Jacob pressed his lips together, clearly dissatisfied with this answer.

Diana had gone out today and returned in this state.

Now that her relationship with Charles had improved, who could have done this!

Thinking of this, Jacob raised his eyes slightly and instructed Evelyn, "Take Ms. Spencer to apply some medicine."

Evelyn didn't delay and quickly took Diana upstairs to apply the medicine.

Jacob, looking serious, called the bodyguard aside, "What exactly happened?"

The bodyguard, with a serious expression, recounted the events in detail.

As he finished, Jacob's face grew darker, and he ordered, "In the future, in such situations, you prioritize Ms. Spencer and the child's safety."

"Yes, sir!" The bodyguard replied.
