Chapter 145 First Meeting
Right now, Nolan was in a meeting with Charles and totally missed the message.
The bodyguard didn't really care if he replied or not, as long as he got the job done.
Meanwhile, Diana was just casually browsing around.
The sales assistant noticed Diana's good looks and thought she might be a celebrity.
So, she trailed behind Diana, ready to pitch anything that caught her eye.
Since they were just window shopping, Evelyn felt a bit awkward.
Diana picked up on her discomfort, waved to the sales assistant, and said, "We're just looking, you can go ahead with your work."
The sales assistant was super nice and just gave Diana a small smile. "If you see anything you like, just let me know."
Diana nodded.
Besides them, there was another pair in the store.
Compared to Diana, the other pair had already bought a ton of stuff.
Several employees were buzzing around them, making Diana's side seem a bit lonely.
Evelyn noticed the buzz on the other side and got curious. "Ms. Spencer, can we go check it out?"
Even though Evelyn wasn't buying, it was still fun to watch others shop.
Diana nodded and led Evelyn to watch from a distance.
Sabrina, who was picking out earrings, was just over twenty, with a pretty face and slightly curly hair that reminded Diana of Billy.
It seemed like this hairstyle made people look extra cute.
Noah, who was with Sabrina, had a polished look and occasionally gave her some advice.
At the moment, Sabrina was clearly torn between two pairs of earrings, one with tassels and one with hoops.
She compared them for ages but couldn't decide.
The sales assistants all thought the hoop earrings were more stylish and suited Sabrina better.
But Noah pointed to the tassel earrings. "These are more elegant, Sabrina. Don't you want to look a bit more mature?"
Sabrina held the two earrings up to her ears, still feeling like something was off.
"Try those blue diamond studs," Diana couldn't help but suggest when she saw Sabrina struggling.
All eyes turned to Diana.
The direction Diana pointed was neither the hoop earrings nor the tassel earrings, but a pair of light blue diamond studs in the display case.
Sabrina immediately asked to try the studs, thinking it wouldn't hurt to try a few more pairs.
Seeing Diana's confident demeanor, Sabrina felt a strange sense of trust.
The blue diamond studs weren't just a single blue diamond; the upper part was designed like a metal cloud.
The edges of the metal were inlaid with small diamonds, sparkling under the light.
The blue diamond part looked like raindrops falling from the cloud, and when the sales assistant held them up, the blue diamonds trembled slightly, making them appear even more lively.
Sabrina's eyes lit up as she put on the studs.
Diana then said, "Tuck your hair behind your right ear."
Sabrina obediently did as she was told.
As she turned her head and moved, a glimmer of light would flash by her ear, and everyone around her could feel the charm of the studs.
Sabrina looked at herself in the mirror, very satisfied, and said, "I'll take these."
She then asked Diana, "Why did you choose this pair?"
Seeing Sabrina happy, Diana felt pleased herself and smiled faintly. "I see that you're young and beautiful, with sweet features. The hoop earrings are nice but too flashy, and as for the tassel earrings..."
Diana paused for a moment, meeting the eyes of the man beside Sabrina. "The gentleman beside you said the tassel earrings are mature and elegant, which is true, but each age has its own style. These tassel earrings would make you look older."
Sabrina felt like Diana's words hit the nail on the head.
That was exactly why she had hesitated earlier; it wasn't that she didn't know which to buy, but that both pairs had their drawbacks, making her reluctant to buy either.
Instead, the pair Diana casually pointed out suited her perfectly.
Sabrina smiled sweetly and sincerely thanked her, "Thank you!"
The sales assistants also silently thanked Diana for helping them make another sale.
For a moment, the atmosphere in the store was particularly harmonious.
"Enjoy your shopping, we'll be heading out now." Diana pointed to the door, realizing that Isolde would be arriving soon.
Sabrina waved at her as she watched them leave.
It was just a chance encounter, but it made for a pleasant little episode in their day.
But when Sabrina turned back and saw Noah still staring after them, she teased, "Noah, what are you doing? They're already gone, and you're still staring?"
Noah lowered his gaze back to her. "So now you dare to tease me? Who paid today, huh?"
Sabrina immediately smiled ingratiatingly. "Of course, my most handsome and greatest brother! But Noah, that lady just now was really nice. She's beautiful and elegant. Why don't you go after her and ask for her contact information?"
Sabrina cleared her throat playfully, smiling mischievously.
Noah's demeanor clearly showed he was interested in Diana.
"Take your things, let's go eat." Noah didn't answer her question but instead raised his hand to pinch Sabrina's cheek.
As soon as Isolde received Diana's message, she booked a high-end restaurant near Spark Plaza.
Diana and Evelyn saw Isolde from a distance, leaning against a burgundy Ferrari and waving at them, attracting the attention of passersby.
Diana was fine, but Evelyn, in such situations, would get extremely shy, hiding behind Diana and not daring to show her face.
"You can follow us in your car. This is my friend, Mr. Percy knows her too," Diana turned to the bodyguards and said.
But this time, the two bodyguards didn't relent. "No, one of you must come with us."
Diana looked a bit helpless, thinking, 'What do they think of me? It's just a meal, why so tense?'
Evelyn then peeked out and said softly, "I'll go, Ms. Spencer. I'm quite familiar with the bodyguards. You can chat with Ms. Porter."
Sensing that Evelyn didn't seem scared, Diana reluctantly agreed.
Isolde, seeing Evelyn get into another car, asked curiously, "What's going on? Not riding with me? I specifically brought the flashiest car."
Diana got into the passenger seat and smiled helplessly. "It's all because of Charles, afraid you'll take me and Evelyn away. He insisted we sit separately. Those bodyguards? They're not just here for our protection; they're really here to keep tabs on us."
Isolde's face fell at this. "Your ex-husband is really troublesome."
The problem was that Diana was pregnant, and Charles had found out. No one dared to go against Charles now.
"How far along are you?" Isolde glanced at Diana's flat stomach, recalling her own pregnancy.
"Almost two months." Diana placed a hand on her abdomen, her expression calm, clearly not taking the pregnancy too seriously.
Isolde couldn't help but remark, "When I was pregnant with Cecil, I had severe morning sickness. I threw up everything I ate and even lost weight in the first few months. You look quite healthy now, with a rosy complexion."
Diana nodded. "I'm just sleepy all the time, no other significant pregnancy symptoms."
