Chapter 79 Love
Diana's already loose neckline slipped even more from his rough tug, showing off most of her smooth, delicate shoulder. A hint of her chest was now visible. From where Charles was standing, he could almost see her whole graceful figure. His body was on fire, anger bubbling up inside him, ready to explode.
Diana grabbed her neckline with one hand to keep herself covered. Her other hand was stuck in Charles's grip. She said anxiously, "Charles, let go of me! Where I am is none of your business!"
Charles got even more pissed at her comeback. He wrapped his big hand around Diana's slim waist and yanked her into his arms. There was this faint sweet smell around her, just like Billy had said—she smelled really nice.
But thinking about how Diana was hugging Billy just a moment ago, Charles tightened his grip and pinched her waist hard. His breath was hot on Diana's face as he spoke, "You still deny it! This is a party, and you show up dressed like this to meet Billy? Isn't it obvious?"
Diana pressed both hands against Charles's chest, trying desperately to create some space. 'Damn Charles! This hurts so much!' she cursed silently.
It was really bad luck; Diana being at Mirage Nights Club was just a coincidence. She was ready to sleep when Isolde sent a message saying she was at the club, being forced to drink by some business partners, and begged Diana to come save her.
Since Robert was out of town, Diana was worried something might happen to Isolde. She didn't even change her clothes, just threw on a coat and rushed out. After finding Isolde in a private room, Diana draped the coat over her shoulders and led her to the restroom, where Isolde began to vomit. While waiting for her in the hallway, Diana bumped into Billy.
Billy, drunk and thinking he was dreaming, pulled Diana into his arms, but nothing inappropriate happened beyond that.
But Charles was pinching her painfully. Clara saw Charles and Diana hugging and hurried over to try to separate them but didn't know where to start.
Clara said, "Mr. Percy, let her go. She is Diana."
Clara thought, 'The one in your arms is the Diana you hate!'
But Charles ignored her, continuing to rant, "Diana, you're just a flirt! Always looking for a rich guy. As long as I'm around, don't think you can marry Billy."
If it weren't for the fact that the person in front of her was Charles, just hearing these words, Diana would almost think the other party was Billy's mom, ready to pay her off because she didn't like his choice of girlfriend.
Seeing she couldn't pull them apart, Clara shook the fallen Billy awake. "Wake up! Diana's in trouble!" Although Clara didn't want to admit it now, she wanted Charles, and Billy wanted Diana. Since that was the case, she and Billy had the same goal. As long as Billy could take Diana away, she could have Charles all to herself.
Billy woke up groggily, his eyes widening when he heard Diana was in trouble. "What happened!" He stood up straight and saw Diana being held by Charles, her face full of resistance.
Billy sobered up halfway immediately and stepped forward to separate the two. Finally, he rescued Diana from Charles's grasp. Diana straightened her clothes and hid behind Billy, looking at Charles warily. If it weren't for Billy's timely rescue, Diana felt she wouldn't need to go for an abortion.
Charles found the scene particularly irritating and was about to grab Diana again. But Billy blocked him, speaking harshly, "Mr. Percy, if you bully Diana again, I won't be polite."
Charles sneered and stepped forward. "Alright, let's see how you plan to be impolite to me!"
Clara grabbed his arm, whispering, "Mr. Percy, let it go. Let's go rest; you're still not feeling well."
Charles shoved her away roughly, his tone impatient. "Get lost!"
Clara fell hard to the ground.
Diana sensed Billy was about to make a move, and she knew it would be bad. If protecting her led to a full-blown conflict between the Richardson Group and the Percy Group, she'd be the one to blame. So, Diana quickly moved to Billy's side, hugged his arm, and gently pulled him back.
Diana stared at Charles, speaking seriously, "Mr. Percy, whether you think I'm a flirt or a bitch, we're divorced now. You have no right to control me. Are you going to control whether your partner dates or not?"
"Date?" Both Charles and Billy repeated. Billy was delighted, while Charles was gritting his teeth.
Charles thought over the words repeatedly, seething with anger. Thinking of Diana and Billy laughing, hugging, kissing, even having sex, an inexplicable emotion gripped Charles's heart, both sour and furious.
"Yes, Billy is my boyfriend. I don't ask for your blessing, but I hope, Mr. Percy, you won't disturb us. Moreover..." Diana paused for a moment, her gaze falling on Clara. She continued, "Since you have Ms. Williams by his side, we should each go our own way."
Billy's mind was filled with the word "boyfriend," his whole body feeling dizzy, his cheeks and ears burning. Diana's warm, soft body was pressed against his arm, and he couldn't help but move his arm, interlocking his fingers with her delicate hand, intimately.
Charles's eyes seemed to shoot fire as he watched them. Sensing the atmosphere was off, Diana quickly led Billy away. But Charles stopped her and said in a low voice, "Diana, if you dare take one step out of here, I'll make you regret it!"
Diana paused but didn't turn back as he wished. Instead, she quickened her pace, leaving behind, "Mr. Percy, talk to me when you're sober."
Maybe she would regret it tomorrow, but if she stayed any longer, Diana felt she would be doomed.
Charles clenched his fists tightly, veins bulging on his arms. At this moment, Clara slowly walked over, her voice trembling. "Mr. Percy, you're drunk. Let me help you rest."
Charles turned to look directly into Clara's eyes, his gaze clear, showing no sign of drunkenness. Suppressing his anger, he said, "Get out."
Clara took a deep breath, seemingly making a desperate decision. She closed her eyes and suddenly threw herself into Charles's arms. "Charles, I actually like you. I can take care of you. I know what you like and dislike. I definitely won't be like Diana..." Before Clara could finish, Charles, in a fit of rage, grabbed her by the throat, her face instantly turning red.
Clara struggled frantically in the desire for survival, desperately slapping Charles's hand to no avail.
Charles's expression was terrifying. "I thought you were sensible, but you also want to climb into my bed. A daughter of a mistress wants to be Mrs. Percy? Diana, at least, is the heir to the Spencer Family. What are you? An illegitimate daughter of the Williams Family?" With that, he released his grip, and Clara collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath.
Ignoring her, Charles turned to the restroom and washed his hands repeatedly. Not just his hands, he wanted to throw away all his clothes. Thinking of this, Charles called Nolan, ordering him to come and take him home.
