Chapter 84 The Spencer Group in Trouble

Now, the Percy Group's stance towards the Spencer Group was not just about stopping investments; it was about full-scale suppression.

Nolan sighed, feeling a bit sorry for the Spencer Group's grim fate. But soon, he opened his computer and accelerated the suppression process.

Charles knocked over the vase, and it hit the floor with a loud crash, waking up half the villa.

Jacob, still in his pajamas, rushed over to see what was going on. When he saw Charles was okay, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Mr. Percy, glad you're alright. It's the servants' fault for being careless. We won't keep vases in the room anymore. I'll clean this up right away. Just be careful not to get cut."

Charles pressed his lips together, his voice a bit rough. "No need, I'll sleep in the next room." With that, he headed to the guest bedroom, leaving the servants to clean up the mess.

Jacob sighed. He knew Charles was just throwing a tantrum. Charles's personality was too sullen, and he might do something extreme if he didn't get more attention.

When Juniper was around, she always hoped there'd be a hostess to keep Charles company. Someone who could light up his life when he was in pain, angry, or confused. Unfortunately, the Diana that Juniper chose didn't have that ability.

Over at the Spencer Villa, Diana had been feeling exhausted since sending Billy away yesterday. She didn't sleep well and only managed to doze off in the early morning. The next day, she was woken up by a commotion downstairs.

"Ms. Williams, you can't come in." The bodyguards at the door stood in a line, forming a human wall to block Clara from entering. Since Clara's last outburst at the Spencer Villa, Diana had beefed up security. She showed the bodyguards Clara's photo repeatedly, instructing them that this woman was not allowed inside.

But today, Clara went to the company only to find out that the Percy Group had stopped funding. Since Nolan directly notified the finance department, all the employees knew about it. Although under Diana's management, the Spencer Group had started generating revenue, Clara's project was so costly that the company had little money left.

If it were just a matter of stopping the investment, it wouldn't be a big problem. But negative news about the Spencer Group's food products exploded online. Reports of foreign objects in the food, food poisoning, and various other issues were exposed.

The Spencer Group's PR department was in a disaster. The manufacturers called, and one of the suppliers of a popular product's ingredients inexplicably stopped supplying to the Spencer Group. The series of blows left the Spencer Group in chaos.

Unable to reach Diana by phone, Clara came directly to the Spencer Villa. "Let me in. I'm not here to cause trouble. The company is in trouble. Is Ms. Spencer just going to do nothing at home?" Clara asked.

The bodyguards stood straight and silent. When Clara tried to bypass them, they grabbed her hand and pushed her outside. Clara, furious, saw Evelyn peeking from behind a pillar and shouted, "Evelyn! You idiot, what are you looking at? Hurry up and get Diana out here. The company is in trouble!"

Evelyn hesitated, unsure whether to do as Clara said. Although she didn't understand company management, she knew Diana cared deeply about the Spencer Group. But before she could act, a hand rested on her shoulder.

Diana, just woken up and her voice still a bit hoarse, had heard half of the commotion from behind and told the bodyguards to let Clara in, "Let her in, but keep an eye on her. If she causes any trouble, throw her out immediately."

The bodyguards, hearing Diana's order, made way but kept a close eye on Clara, ready to act if she caused trouble. Clara barged in with a scowl and stood right in front of Diana. "Diana, How can you still be sleeping at this time? The Spencer Group is in deep trouble. Are you aware of that?"

Diana frowned, not one to be easily intimidated. "Get to the point or get out."

Clara, seeing her arrogant attitude, wanted to lash out but remembered she had important matters to discuss. She restrained herself and spoke impatiently, "What did you do? Mr. Percy has pulled his investment from the company. The internet is flooded with negative news about the Spencer Group, and even the supply chain is broken!"

As Clara spoke, Diana's face grew darker, recalling what Charles had said to her that night. It wasn't just an idle threat; it was a real suppression.

However, given Clara's character, Diana didn't fully believe her and took out her phone. She found numerous messages since the morning confirming the situation. Realizing it was true, Diana became unsettled.

Seeing Diana's panic, Clara mocked her with a raised chin, "Now the company is in this mess because of you. Think about what you're going to do!"

Diana shot back, "If I remember correctly, Ms. Williams, you're just an employee of the Percy Group. You don't have any actual shares in the company. What right do you have to meddle in my company?" Her voice was cold and indifferent.

Clara indeed had an ulterior motive. She rolled her eyes and pretended to be magnanimous. "It's not hopeless. If you're willing to beg me, I can take you to see my father. He..."

At the mention of Nathan, Diana didn't even want to listen. She waved her hand. "Throw her out."

Two bodyguards came up, grabbed Clara's arms, and lifted her. Clara, caught off guard, was thrown out of the villa before she could say another word. Diana turned and went back inside, disappearing from view.

"Diana, you bitch, let me in! Don't you want to save the company? Do you think you can do it alone?" Clara shouted outside for a long time, her voice hoarse, but no one came out.

She had to leave helplessly. She had planned to trick Diana into seeing Nathan and then trick her into getting an abortion.

"It seems like she hasn't hit rock bottom yet. I'll let the baby live a few more days," Clara muttered to herself.

Diana returned to the living room, her face expressionless. But one hand kept tapping on the sofa, revealing her inner turmoil. 'Why? After coming this far, is Charles going to ruin it all again?'

Today, only Evelyn and Cecil were at home. Evelyn, though not understanding company management, knew Clara was talking about something serious. The Spencer Group was the result of generations of the Spencer Family's hard work. Diana worked so hard to protect this company. Now the company was in trouble again, and it was the Percy Group's doing.

Evelyn said indignantly, "This Charles, he's relentless. What a bastard! Who provoked him?"

Seeing the usually timid Evelyn speak like this, Diana was a bit surprised. "Do you dare to call him by name? Aren't you afraid of him?"

Evelyn, suddenly realizing what she had said, looked around nervously and whispered, "Is it okay to curse him at home? No one will report him, right?"

Seeing her fear, Diana couldn't help but laugh. Her previously suppressed mood lightened considerably. "It's fine. You can curse him loudly. If anything happens, I'll take responsibility."

Evelyn nervously bit her lip. "I'd rather not. I don't want to cause you trouble. Ms. Spencer, what should we do now? Should we ask Ms. Porter or Mr. Richardson for help?"
