Chapter 237 Can't Find

Her idea was interesting, but Billy shook his head right away.

"I already like someone. Even if it's just pretend, I don't want her to get the wrong idea. Plus, you'd be the one getting the short end of the stick in this deal."

Chloe was taken aback by his response. She had met all kinds of men growing up. Most of them were sleazy and unreliable.

But Billy, standing in front of her, was willing to take on all the trouble for the woman he loved.

If she didn't know better, she might have thought he was just putting on a show.

At this point, Chloe nodded, but she couldn't help but ask, "Forgive my curiosity, but can you tell me who this lady you like is?"

What kind of woman could capture the heart of such a promising young man like Billy? Chloe was dying to know.

Billy fell silent for a moment.

Diana's identity was special, well-known in Evergreen City's high society. It was best not to reveal her identity right now.

So he raised an eyebrow and said mysteriously, "You'll find out when the time comes."

At the Percy Group.

Outside the CEO's office, Nolan was clutching his phone, pacing anxiously.

Abigail, who was at her desk handling documents, found his pacing distracting and couldn't help but speak up, "Mr. Smith, what's wrong? You're making my eyes hurt with all that pacing."

Someone like Nolan, a top-tier professional, should always remain composed.

Hearing that, Nolan paused and looked at her with a pained expression.

He might really end up farming potatoes in Phoenixia.

Charles had left for the party an hour ago.

Nolan was supposed to pick up Diana, get her ready, and take her to the party.

But when he sent someone to the Percy Mansion, they discovered Diana wasn't at the Percy Mansion!

He had called and messaged her, but she hadn't responded. Even the bodyguard protecting her was unreachable.

Now, he could only hope Charles would arrive at the venue a bit later, giving him more time to find Diana.

Seeing his distressed expression, Abigail pursed her lips, guessing what might be going on.

She gave him a sympathetic look and went back to her work.

Nolan took a deep breath, trying to calm down, and continued calling the bodyguard.

Finally, on the eleventh call, the bodyguard answered. "Mr. Smith, what can I do for you?"

The bodyguard had just dropped Diana and Sabrina off at Homestead Sunset Valley and noticed many security personnel at the entrance.

Assuming Diana was safe, he had a moment to check his phone.

Seeing numerous missed calls, his eyes widened. Just as he was about to call back, Nolan called again.

As soon as the call connected, Nolan's voice came through, demanding, "Where's Ms Spencer?"

The bodyguard was momentarily stunned but answered honestly, "Homestead Sunset Valley. Ms. Spencer is here with a friend for a birthday party."

"What? Homestead Sunset Valley!" Nolan's voice rose. Wasn't that the destination for tonight's event?

A birthday party at Homestead Sunset Valley.

It was obvious Diana had gone to Vance's birthday party.

But who was she with?

In an instant, a name flashed through Nolan's mind—Billy.

This was a disaster!

If there was a list of people Charles disliked, Billy would definitely be in the top ten.

Realizing this, Nolan stood still, muttering, "This is going to be a big problem."

The next second, he bolted out, startling Abigail.

Meanwhile, Diana and Sabrina were walking arm in arm towards the banquet hall. The bodyguard had vanished after taking a call, giving them some privacy.

The further they walked, the more uneasy Diana felt. It was supposed to be a birthday party for Sabrina's friend, so there should have been more young people attending. However, there was no birthday vibe at all; most of the guests here, holding wine glasses and chatting, were middle-aged.

She stopped and asked seriously, "Sabrina, are you sure this is your friend's birthday party?"

"Of course it is. It's just that this friend is a business partner of the Glenn family, so there are more people here."

Sabrina sensed that the truth was about to come out and her eyes darted around as she made up an excuse, praying that Noah would arrive soon.

As if summoned, Noah spotted them from the crowd, put down his wine glass, and walked over.

"Sabrina, Ms. Spencer." His tone was gentle, and his eyes flashed with admiration when he saw Diana's outfit.

Seeing him approach, Diana looked puzzled, but when she turned to see Sabrina's expression, she instantly realized she had been tricked.

Her face turned serious as she asked, "What is going on here?"

Sabrina clearly had company, so why drag her into this?

And Noah obviously knew about it, yet went along with the charade.

Noticing Diana was angry, Sabrina immediately raised her hands in apology.

"I'm sorry, Diana! I didn't lie to you; this is a birthday party. But being Noah's date is so boring, I wanted you to keep me company." She pouted, looking pitiful.

Diana pressed her lips together, her anger softening a bit after hearing the explanation.

The next second, she turned to Noah.

Feeling her eyes on him, Noah also apologized softly, "Sorry, I've spoiled Sabrina too much. But she really likes you and meant no harm."

As soon as he finished, Sabrina nodded quickly, grabbing Diana's arm and shaking it, "Diana, I really messed up. Please forgive me."

Her naturally cute and innocent look, combined with her big, pleading eyes, made her look just like Snowy.

Diana sighed and said, "Just this once."

Noticing her relent, Sabrina immediately dropped her sad act, pushed Noah towards Diana, and said, "Noah, I'm leaving Diana with you. I'm going to see if there are any cute guys here."

With that, she quickly walked away in her high heels, moving so fast it looked more like she was escaping than looking for cute guys.

Noticing Sabrina's efforts for him, Noah was naturally pleased. He coughed lightly, covering his mouth with a fist, "Ms. Spencer, Sabrina can be a bit much. Sorry about that."

Diana saw right through him and said deliberately, "Yeah, I wonder who spoiled her."

With that, she started to walk away. But her movements were too forceful, and the blade hidden in her shoe heel had reached its breaking point.

Diana felt her foot slip, and her whole body tilted to the left.

Luckily, Noah reacted quickly, catching her just in time.

"Are you okay?" His voice was anxious, and he looked serious as he saw the broken heel.

Diana, still held tightly by Noah, felt a sharp pain in her left ankle, bringing tears to her eyes.

She gasped, clearly having twisted her ankle.

Before she could speak, Noah bent down slightly and lifted her up.

"Sorry, Ms. Spencer, but you need immediate attention for that sprain."
