Chapter 124 Billy Visits

Jacob and the servants finally let out a breath of relief when they saw Charles leave.

Those two never got along, and Jacob was seriously worried about what would happen if they couldn't come to an agreement and ended up fighting.

"Ms. Spencer, you haven't eaten all day. I had the nutritionist whip up some nourishing soup for you. Please have some," Diana heard Jacob calling from the door.

When Juniper was alive, Jacob helped manage all the affairs of the Percy Family.

During Diana's two years at the Percy Mansion, Jacob was one of the few who treated her with respect.

And on the night Sophia was reborn, if it hadn't been for Jacob speaking up in time, she might have been strangled to death by Charles.

So Diana's tone was calm, not wanting to make things hard for him. "Thanks, Jacob, but I'm not hungry. You can take it away."

Jacob frowned, sounding concerned. "At least eat a little. It's not good to starve yourself. I've already hired a new nutritionist and chef. This soup smells really good."

Diana pressed her lips together. No matter how good it smelled, she couldn't give in now.

She needed Charles to see her determination to bring Evelyn over. "Jacob, I'm not eating. I've talked to Charles. If he asks, just tell him that I'll eat when he agrees."

Jacob was about to say something but was cut off by Diana. Seeing her firm attitude, he had no choice but to leave the food at the door.

"I'll leave the food at the door then. You should still listen to Mr. Percy and not go against him." The latter part of Jacob's sentence was so quiet that only he could hear it.

Jacob had worked for the Percy Family for so many years and knew Charles' character all too well.

He hoped Diana would realize this sooner rather than later.

Inside the room, Diana listened for any movement at the door and guessed that Jacob had left.

She then dialed Isolde's number. "Hey, Isolde, it's Diana. How are things on your end?"

Isolde saw that the call was from Diana and immediately answered, sounding anxious. "Diana, where have you been? Something happened at your place. I went to find you today, but Evelyn and Robert were both gone. I asked the bodyguards, and they said Charles took them."

Diana's eyes darkened. She didn't want to scare Isolde, so she only gave a brief explanation. "Charles found out I was pregnant. He wants me to have the baby, but I don't want to, so he's using Robert and Evelyn to threaten me. Isolde, you need to be careful too. I'm afraid he might even go after the Porter Group if he gets desperate."

Isolde had already suspected it had something to do with Charles, and now it was confirmed, making her even more anxious.

The Porter Group could handle some trivial issues, but this matter involved the heir to the Percy Group, which was beyond the Porter Group's control.

Isolde paused for a moment and then asked in a low voice, "What's your situation now? Diana, you mustn't go against him. Charles is a madman."

"I'm fine for now, just negotiating terms with him. No matter what, I have to protect my own interests. Isolde, keep an eye on the company for me, especially that Clara." Diana's voice gradually turned fierce. With Robert's whereabouts unknown, Isolde was the only one she could turn to.

"Is this incident related to Clara again?" Ever since Isolde met Clara, she had an inexplicable dislike for her.

Diana had always been meticulous, and this sudden discovery by Charles was likely Clara's doing.

Sure enough, on the other end of the phone, Diana confirmed Isolde's suspicion.

"I'll deal with her. Let her be smug for a few days."

"Alright, Diana. I'll find a chance to visit you. Hang in there!"

"Okay, Isolde, have you heard from Billy? I can't reach him by phone, and he hasn't replied to my messages." Diana suddenly changed the subject.

Ever since she parted ways with Billy that day, they had lost contact. Given Vance's personality, Billy's situation couldn't be good either.

Isolde hadn't paid much attention to Billy's situation, but she promised to keep an eye out for Diana.

Meanwhile, Billy, who Diana was so worried about, was sitting on the guest couch in the lobby of the Percy Group.

He was dressed in a suit, with his hair slightly covering his eyebrows, and exuded a somewhat melancholic aura, attracting curious glances from passersby.

The two receptionists were in a dilemma. Billy had come in saying he wanted to see Charles, but he didn't have an appointment.

The CEO's office had a strict policy of not seeing anyone without an appointment.

The receptionists explained this to Billy.

Billy didn't make things difficult for them; he simply went to sit on the couch in the lobby, hoping to catch Charles by chance.

Billy had been severely beaten by Vance and was forbidden from causing any more trouble for the Percy Group.

However, Billy was not the obedient type.

So, ignoring Vance's surveillance, Billy swaggered into the Percy Group and even had the leisure to flip through the Percy Group's promotional magazines.

Among the employees passing by, some recognized him as the recently popular figure in financial magazines, Billy Richardson.

It was said that he managed the entire group at a young age, much like Charles in his early days.

But why was he sitting in the lobby instead of going upstairs to discuss cooperation with Charles?

As more people noticed Billy, word reached Nolan, who felt a pang of anxiety. Billy had a notoriously bad relationship with Charles.

Recently, Nolan had frequently clashed with the Richardson Group, so Billy's visit couldn't be for anything good.

Facing the matters that he couldn't decide, Nolan knocked on the door of the CEO's office.

"Come in." Charles was reviewing various documents, which Abigail had already gone through and sent over, many of which required his signature.

Charles was in a bad mood and needed intense work to distract him from trivial matters.

Seeing Nolan enter, Charles didn't stop what he was doing and simply asked, "What's the matter?"

Nolan hesitated, not speaking for a while, prompting Charles to look up and frown, "Speak up. Since when did you become so hesitant?"

"Mr. Percy, it's like this. Mr. Richardson is in the lobby. He seems to want to see you, but he doesn't have an appointment, so the receptionists didn't dare let him up."

Charles put down the document, a playful smile appearing on his face, his tone drawn out. "What? Is the Richardson Group unable to hold on and coming to make peace?"

After suppressing the Richardson Group for so long, Charles had anticipated this day.

But Billy was truly detestable, especially when he was with Diana.

Especially, a few days ago, Billy had helped Diana hide the pregnancy from Charles.

Nolan wasn't sure because, from a distance, Billy didn't look dispirited. Instead, his eyes were resolute, as if he was determined to do something significant. "Maybe? Mr. Percy, do you want to see him? If so, I'll let him up. If not, I'll have security escort him out."

Charles resumed flipping through the documents, his tone indifferent. "Let him up."
