Chapter 305 Waiting

"Why are you rushing me? Didn't I say an hour?"

Tessa's tone was impatient, but as soon as she opened the door, she saw the empty plate in Diana's hand.

She let out a small scoff and changed her tone, "I thought your plan to hurt yourself for sympathy would last longer. Seems like you're eating just fine."

Diana's face remained cold as she slammed the plate back down, "Go take food to Evelyn."

Tessa rolled her eyes, picked up the plate, and dragged out her words, "Got it, what a hassle."

As she turned to leave, Diana called out from behind, "Can you get my phone from the next room?"

Even if she couldn't see Evelyn, chatting on the phone would be something.

And Dean and the others would be worried sick if they couldn't reach her.

Tessa stopped in her tracks and refused without much thought, "No way. You can ask Mr. Percy yourself. Otherwise, we'll get punished again."

With that, she shut the door, leaving Diana alone in the room once more.

Charles' room was decorated in a very cold style, with almost all the furniture in black, white, and gray.

The only entertainment seemed to be the oversized TV used as a decoration and the computer on the desk.

Wait! A computer?

Diana's eyes lit up. Of course, she could use the computer.

But without the right equipment, cracking the password would be tough.

One of the few advantages of being in this room was that no servants came to bother her.

Diana walked over to the desk and turned on the computer.

Surprisingly, it didn't have a password and was completely empty.

Her fingers flew over the keyboard, leaving a string of code. With a few keystrokes, she accessed the Dark Web.

She called Dean directly. Luckily, he had been busy with Diana's situation and was near his computer, so he answered quickly.

"Sophia? Why are you calling me directly?"

"Dean, you need to be careful. Charles found out we met."

Diana quickly explained the situation, startling Dean.

As a hacker, he was always meticulous. He hadn't even used his real identity this time.

Despite his caution, they were still being watched?

"Sophia, are you okay? I'll relocate right now. Be careful."

"I'm fine, but I'm also stuck here, locked in a room by him."

"What? That's illegal detention!"

Dean's voice rose. He had underestimated Charles, who had gone to such lengths.

Diana, however, was calmer now, "He can be crazier. I'm not in danger at The Percy Mansion, but I need to find a way out."

Dean nodded, knowing that trying to forcefully take Diana out of The Percy Mansion would be akin to a death wish.

After some thought, he said, "Elise must be worried too. Sophia, I'll wait outside the mansion for you. Can you find a way out?"

Diana considered it. The Percy Mansion was far from the city, and she'd need a car even if she managed to escape. Dean had to come.

But she replied, "No, you can't come yourself. Once I find a way out, I'll contact you. Then you can send someone."

Dean pressed his lips together, "Alright, I'll do as you say."

Diana was about to say more when there was a knock on the door, "Ms. Spencer, who are you talking to?"

It was Tessa again! She had nothing better to do than loiter outside the room, monitoring her.

Diana finally understood why Charles had Tessa bring her meals. Tessa's dislike for her made her an excellent watchdog.

Any sign of trouble, and she'd report to Charles immediately. She was also not easily bribed.

Diana quickly shut down the computer and turned on the TV. A chaotic family drama was playing, with characters pulling each other's hair.

It was a perfect cover.

Tessa pushed the door open to this scene. Diana's hair was disheveled, and she watched the TV with a cold expression.

The TV volume was high, and a sudden scream from the show startled Tessa.

She clutched her chest and cursed, "Watching TV so loud, are you deaf?"

Diana acted as if she just noticed her, turning her head with an annoyed look, "What are you looking at? Do you have to control how I watch TV too?"

Tessa rolled her eyes and quickly shut the door. 'This Diana seems to be losing it too,' she thought to herself.

Once the door was closed, Diana relaxed a bit and turned down the TV volume.

She couldn't contact Dean anytime she wanted; Tessa was likely eavesdropping outside. She needed the perfect opportunity to escape.

That night, a silver Maybach drove into The Percy Mansion. The servants didn't dare breathe loudly. They greeted Charles briefly before retreating.

Only Tessa boldly approached, her tone ingratiating, "Good evening, Mr. Percy. Have you had dinner? I can have the chef..."

Charles cut her off with a raised hand, "Where is she?"

He was, of course, referring to Diana.

Tessa gritted her teeth. Based on past experience, she didn't dare say anything unnecessary and reported, "Ms. Spencer was very angry at first, but she accepted it later and even ate. She should be asleep now."

This was about what Charles had expected. His expression remained unchanged as he nodded and headed upstairs.

In the room, the TV screen was dark, the music eerie, with occasional sounds of a woman crying. Diana sat on the couch, hugging her knees, curled up.

The loose sweater she wore was pulled even looser, covering her legs, with only her feet peeking out.

Her hair was unkempt, and the room was dark, lit only by the TV.

Hearing the door open, Diana's head moved. She turned to see Charles standing at the door, her eyes lighting up.

Without any communication devices, she was incredibly bored in this room.

Initially, she turned on the TV as a cover, but now she relied on it to pass the time.

Seeing Charles return, her emotions surged. Her eyes widened, reflecting a glimmer of light, like a cat welcoming its owner home.

Diana stood up, freeing her legs from the sweater. Charles noticed it was his sweater, one he had worn only once.

Now, on Diana, it was stretched, the hem covering half her thighs, making her look even more petite.

He liked it!

His eyes flickered, but his face remained cold as Diana walked towards him. He didn't move.

Just then, a sudden scream from the TV startled Diana, causing her to stumble.

As her face was about to meet the carpet, Charles' body moved before his mind could react.
