Chapter 141 Behave yourself
What Diana didn't know was how much her words shocked Brenda. She knew that the affairs of the wealthy were always dramatic, but Charles allowing the mother of his child to date another man was too much.
Brenda was silent for a moment, deciding not to ask more, and just reminded, "Take care and rest well."
Diana gave a slight nod. Once Brenda left, she lowered her head and continued sipping her nourishing soup.
After finishing the bowl, Diana felt a wave of drowsiness wash over her.
Just as she was about to take a nap, Evelyn walked back in.
Evelyn had been out shopping and had also met up with Robert to let him know everything was safe.
Of course, she did all this under the watchful eyes of the men in black.
At first, Evelyn found it weird having people follow her around, but after talking to Diana, she figured she might as well make use of the bodyguards.
She had them carry her bags and drive her around, getting a taste of Diana's lifestyle.
"Ms. Spencer, I got your favorite pastries and some new slippers. It's getting colder, and the ones you have now are too basic. Pregnant women need to stay warm and absolutely can't get sick." Evelyn showed off the items she bought, most of which were for Diana.
Diana smiled warmly. "You're so sweet. I love and need all of these."
Evelyn grinned and suddenly remembered something. She leaned in close and whispered, "Ms. Spencer, I ran into Mr. Richardson. He asked me to tell you to wait for him to get you out."
Diana's heart skipped a beat. "Where is he?"
"He's just downstairs at the hospital. I pointed out our ward to him, but it seems he can't come in."
Diana quickly stood up and walked to the window to look down, but she didn't see anyone.
Her phone started vibrating wildly in her pocket. Diana took it out; it was a call from Billy.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Diana. I can't get into the hospital, but I ran into Evelyn and asked her to pass a message to you." Billy's voice was calm and soothing, with a comforting power.
"I know, Charles is not to be messed with. Be careful and don't provoke him too much." Although Diana hoped Billy could help her, she didn't want him to get hurt, so she earnestly advised him.
Billy chuckled softly. "I know, Diana. Let's get married."
Diana frowned slightly, puzzled.
"As long as you become my wife, Charles won't be able to take you." Billy's voice was sincere, not sounding like a joke.
Diana's lips pressed tightly together; clearly, Billy underestimated Charles' twisted nature.
If Charles wanted, even his ex-wife could bear his child, let alone taking someone else's wife.
Billy didn't hear Diana's response for a while, so he continued, "Of course, this is the worst-case scenario. I respect your wishes and will get you out."
"Okay," Diana slowly replied, but she didn't feel the joy of hope in her heart, realizing Billy might not be reliable.
At the Richardson Mansion, "Where is he? Didn't I tell you to keep an eye on Billy? How did he disappear in the blink of an eye?" Vance sat in the living room, harshly scolding the servants and bodyguards in front of him.
The servants were trembling, afraid that his anger would spill over onto them.
Vance had been in the military for decades and always had a bad temper. Even after becoming a leader, he didn't restrain himself, and everyone under him feared him.
Since the last argument with Billy, Vance realized he couldn't let Billy run wild anymore.
If this continued, the Richardson Family would be ruined by Billy sooner or later.
So he had Billy brought back.
But a grown man wouldn't willingly be controlled by his father, so Billy had run out several times under the pretense of going to the company.
During this time, the Richardson Group had frequently clashed with the Percy Group.
Vance didn't know until an old shareholder secretly told him.
To take on Charles, the Richardson Group had poured in a ton of money, and it all went down the drain.
Billy was acting like a rebellious teenager, making Vance furious.
"What are you standing around for? Go find him! Bring him back!" Vance snapped.
The servants, hearing this, did not dare to delay and quickly dispersed.
Vance sat on the couch, breathing heavily.
The butler immediately handed him some medicine, speaking with concern, "Mr. Vance Richardson, please calm down. Mr. Billy Richardson might have just gone for a walk. The people at the company said they didn't see him."
Vance swallowed the medicine, took a sip of water, and after a while, his emotions stabilized. "Where else would he go if not the company? He's gone to see Diana again, hasn't he? It's driving me crazy. I picked so many girls for him, and he doesn't like any of them. Why is he so fixated on Diana? What's so good about her?"
The butler couldn't speak up for Billy, so he just quietly agreed, trying to calm Vance down.
"Mr. Vance Richardson! Mr. Billy Richardson is back!" A servant's shout came from outside.
Hearing this, Vance immediately sat up straight, staring at the door.
The next second, Billy walked into the living room, surrounded by a group of people.
He was dressed lightly, his face pale from the cold, his expression indifferent, exuding an unapproachable aura.
Seeing Vance sitting there, Billy just glanced at him without saying much and turned to go upstairs.
"You ungrateful brat, is this how you greet me when you see me here?" Vance shouted angrily.
Sensing the tension, the servants quickly left the room, leaving the living room to Vance and Billy.
Billy paused on the stairs, looking down at Vance with a cold expression. "Do you need me to kneel in front of you and greet you?"
"You!" Vance's chest heaved violently, and the butler quickly tried to calm him down.
"Mr. Billy Richardson, please say less. Don't upset Mr. Vance Richardson anymore."
Billy lowered his eyes, still unresponsive. Since Vance realized he couldn't control Billy, he often put on this act. But when it came to hitting him, Vance didn't hold back at all.
Billy didn't want to watch their act anymore and continued upstairs.
"Wait! Where did you go today? Did you go see Diana again? She's Charles'. Why can't you like someone else," Vance clutched his chest, continuing to scold.
Billy had heard this speech hundreds of times and was tired of it.
At first, Billy would argue back, but now he just felt annoyed. He quickened his pace to leave Vance's voice behind.
Billy's unresponsive attitude worried the butler.
He had served Vance for a long time and knew his health condition well. If this continued, something serious might happen.
"Mr. Vance Richardson, please don't get angry. Talk to Mr. Billy Richardson calmly; he will listen." The butler patiently advised.
Vance didn't respond but calmed down. After a while, he said in a deep voice, "To the study."
The butler quickly nodded and helped Vance upstairs.
At the Percy Group, Nolan respectfully reported the situation at the hospital to Charles.
Usually, Brenda handled such matters, so Nolan speaking up today indicated that something was definitely wrong.
Charles didn't want to waste time and directly asked, "What did she do this time? Can't she behave even in the hospital?"
Charles knew Diana didn't want to have the baby. With Robert and Evelyn in his grasp, she wouldn't dare disobey.
But there was always the possibility that Diana might disregard everyone and insist on an abortion.
However, Nolan's report wasn't about Diana not cooperating with the pregnancy. "Mr. Percy, today Mr. Richardson went to the hospital to see Ms. Spencer."
