Chapter 274 His Lover

It was Claire, impeccably made up and dressed in a white business suit that clashed with the casual atmosphere of the square.

But what was even more surprising was the person standing next to her—Clara, whom Diana hadn't seen in a long time.

Clara looked thinner, her clothes outdated, likely from a few years ago, suggesting she hadn't been doing well recently.

Yet, she held her chin high, looking down at Diana with a contemptuous smile.

'What are they doing together?' Diana thought.

Diana frowned and spoke up, "I don't really know you, do I? What's this got to do with you?"

Claire hadn't expected such bluntness, her expression shifted slightly as she forced a smile, "I thought we knew each other."

Her weak attitude infuriated Clara. She had been called out by Claire today, thinking she could regain some lost dignity, but Claire was proving useless.

Clara crossed her arms and stepped forward, "Diana, what's with the attitude?"

Little did she know, this was exactly what Claire had planned.

Since their last encounter, Claire had been looking for a chance to see Diana, but the security at The Percy Mansion was too tight, making it impossible to get close.

The moment Diana left the house today, Elise's people notified Claire immediately.

Having waited so long, Claire wasn't going to miss this opportunity.

While other employees at The Percy Group were busy, she had taken leave from Nolan to be here.

This was a meticulously planned "coincidence."

Diana's displeasure was evident, but before she could speak, Sabrina stepped forward.

"You're hilarious. Your friend was rude, so getting scolded is normal, isn't it?"

She took a step forward, facing Clara directly, "And you, you're just as rude."

Clara's face flushed with anger. Sabrina was a new face, having recently returned from abroad.

But Clara noticed the expensive bracelet on Sabrina's wrist, something she couldn't afford even before the Williams family fell from grace.

'Why is Diana always surrounded by these wealthy girls? Of course, with the Percy family's backing, everyone has to cater to her. Damn Diana!' she thought.

Jealousy surged within Clara, nearly overwhelming her.

Clara suddenly spoke, "Diana, what good is it relying on Mr. Percy? He doesn't care about you; he even saved my dad."

"What?"

Her words confused everyone present, except Diana, whose expression changed.

She had received information from Robert and was investigating who was helping Clara. She hadn't expected it to be Charles.

Diana didn't doubt it for a second, immediately believing Clara.

In Evergreen City, the most powerful force Clara could reach was the Percy family.

So all her efforts were thwarted by Charles?

What was he trying to do? Keeping her by his side wasn't enough; now he was meddling in her family affairs.

Nathan, that bastard, had hidden behind Bianca, enjoying the benefits while doing so many things to wrong her.

And now, the case was easily overturned.

If she had known, she would have used the kidnapping case to ensure he never left prison.

For the first time, Diana deeply regretted her plans being so easily disrupted, and she wasn't a match for Charles.

The intense emotions made Diana feel weak.

Evelyn quickly supported her, her voice tense, "Ms. Spencer, are you okay?"

Sabrina turned, concerned, "Diana, what's wrong?"

But she quickly turned her anger back to the two culprits, "What nonsense are you spouting? Mr. Percy doesn't like Diana, but he likes you? Look at your dark circles. Even if he had no taste, he wouldn't choose you! Who knows what tricks you used to get the Percy Group's help?"

Sabrina didn't know the details but was quick to hurl insults.

Clara was about to retort when Sabrina continued, "Who are you? Which company are you from? I'll make sure my brother never works with your family!"

Diana's enemies were her enemies. What was supposed to be a happy day was ruined by these two bitches.

Sabrina was so angry she was grinding her teeth, wanting to slap them both.

Diana held back her anger and pulled Sabrina back, her eyes coldly fixed on Clara, making her shiver.

"Did you come here just to say this nonsense? Do you think Charles helping you means your dad will escape? I'll make sure he suffers in prison!"

Her voice was low and hoarse, sending chills down their spines.

Even if Charles helped them, Nathan would still serve time, and anything could happen in prison.

She could wait, but Clara couldn't.

Sure enough, Clara's face changed dramatically. She had only wanted to provoke Diana.

Charles had helped her, but only with legal aid.

If something happened to Nathan in prison, she would be powerless.

Clara instinctively grabbed Claire's sleeve, whispering, "What do we do?"

Diana saw this and seemed to understand.

Clara had no leverage to get Charles's help.

But if she was Claire's friend?

And Claire was Charles's lover.

That phone call in Celestria had been the best evidence.

Diana's brow furrowed, and she suddenly felt a wave of nausea, wanting to vomit.

She quickly moved to the side and retched by a public trash can.

Her retching was so loud that passersby quickly moved away.

Evelyn, thinking it was a pregnancy reaction, hurried over with tissues and water.

Everything she had eaten came up, leaving her stomach aching and tears streaming down her face.

Sabrina, watching from a distance, was worried but couldn't handle the sight of vomit, so she asked from afar, "Diana, are you okay?"

Claire and Clara, however, knew exactly what was going on.

Diana's baby was still alive and well.

It was her biggest leverage to stay by Charles's side.

Claire and Clara's eyes turned vicious, wishing they could rip the baby out themselves.

Diana took a long time to recover, her hair disheveled, eyes red, looking weak and pitiful.

The vomiting wasn't a pregnancy reaction but her deep-seated disgust for Charles.

He claimed to be uninterested in women, yet he had slept with Claire and then with her.

The thought of the same man touching her and someone else made her stomach churn more than morning sickness.

'Disgusting! Filthy!' she cursed silently in her heart.

Claire and Clara were still standing there, Claire's face insincere as she asked, "Ms. Spencer, are you okay?"
