Chapter 233 Accompanying Sabrina

Upstairs, Evelyn was about to put some medicine on Diana, but Diana waved her off.

"Don't worry about it, it's just a little mark. It'll fade soon."

Diana had been choked a few times, but Clara's strength was nothing compared to Charles's, so she didn't think she needed any medication.

Evelyn pouted and set the ointment aside, saying, "Ms. Spencer, you're too nice. Ms. Williams always acts like this, and you still put up with her."

She flopped down on the bed, looking annoyed.

Diana laughed and pointed at herself. "Nice? Me?"

How deep must Evelyn's feelings for her be to think that?

Not wanting her to get the wrong idea, Diana pulled Evelyn closer and explained, "I'm not a saint. Nathan went to jail twice because of me. Clara's just anxious now. Sending her to jail would be too easy."

Evelyn wasn't dumb. She got the gist but still looked worried. "Ms. Spencer, you need to deal with this soon. I have a bad feeling."

Diana raised an eyebrow, a bit surprised. She patted Evelyn's hand and reassured her, "It's okay; trust me."

After their chat, it was dinner time.

Diana was worried Charles might come back for dinner, which made her uneasy.

But when she went downstairs, Jacob told her Charles was staying at the Percy Group tonight and wouldn't be back.

She breathed a sigh of relief.

She ate more than usual that night and slept better too.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window, making the curtains glow softly.

Diana turned over in bed, yawning.

Last night, Sabrina had sent her the meeting time and place, which was far north of Evergreen City. It would take her two hours to get there, so she had to get up early.

When she went downstairs, Jacob and Evelyn were making breakfast.

Seeing her, they both greeted, "Good morning, Ms. Spencer."

Even though she was up early, she was already dressed and had her bag ready.

Jacob frowned slightly and asked, "Ms. Spencer, are you going out?"

Diana sat down to eat breakfast and nodded casually.

Jacob looked conflicted.

Yesterday, Diana had been attacked by Clara when she went out. Who knew what might happen today?

He said carefully, "Ms. Spencer, you're pregnant. It's better to stay home more."

Diana raised an eyebrow, put down her bread, and said, "Jacob, Charles hasn't restricted my freedom. Besides, I have bodyguards. Yesterday was just a fluke."

It would be too cowardly to avoid going out just because of Clara.

Diana usually seemed kind and gentle, but she wouldn't back down when it came to her principles.

Seeing her determined to go out, Jacob sighed and relented. "Sorry, Ms. Spencer, I overstepped. The bodyguards will protect you, but please be careful."

Diana nodded and continued her meal.

After breakfast, she smiled and said goodbye to Evelyn, then got in the back seat and headed to her appointment on time.

At a café in the northern part of Evergreen City.

Sabrina had been buzzing with excitement since last night and could barely sleep.

She showed up early in the morning, poking at a piece of cake and whining, "Noah, when do you think Diana will get here?"

Next to her, Noah was flipping through a magazine. Seeing Sabrina all antsy, he chuckled, "You've asked three times already. Didn't she say she'd be here in half an hour?"

He glanced at his watch and added, "Ten more minutes."

"Alright," Sabrina pouted, continuing to poke at her cake.

Luckily, Noah was right. Ten minutes later, the café doorbell chimed, followed by a mechanical "Welcome."

Diana walked in and quickly spotted Noah and Sabrina by the window.

Why was he here too?

Her expression shifted for a moment but quickly returned to normal. She walked over and greeted, "Hey, sorry I'm late."

Seeing her, Sabrina immediately rushed over, hugging Diana's arm and whining, "Diana, you're finally here! I missed you so much!"

"Sabrina, mind your manners," Noah said with a helpless smile, then turned to Diana, "Sorry, Ms. Spencer, Sabrina can be a bit... enthusiastic."

Before he could finish, Sabrina shot him a glare and snapped, "Noah, you're talking too much! This is my time with Diana; you can leave now."

Noah patted her head, stood up, and prepared to leave. "Alright, I'll go. Have fun."

As he left, he smiled and looked Diana in the eyes, his tone gentle, "Goodbye, Diana."

Diana blinked and quickly responded, "Goodbye."

Luckily, Noah was just there to drop Sabrina off. If today was about hanging out with both of them, she might have had to find an excuse to leave.

Even after Noah left, Diana was still a bit dazed.

Sabrina noticed and teased, "Diana, did your heart leave with Noah? Do you like him?"

Diana snapped out of it and quickly waved her hand, "No way! I was just thinking."

She denied it so quickly, without even blushing.

Sabrina couldn't help but frown slightly. It was obvious she didn't like Noah.

Noah was a classic handsome guy, with plenty of girls swooning over him. Sabrina always thought Noah had great charm, and most women couldn't resist.

But Diana's clear avoidance showed she was in the minority.

Sabrina pursed her lips. She had finally met a woman both she and Noah liked, so she wasn't going to give up easily.

Feelings could be nurtured and developed.

Thinking this, she relaxed a bit, held Diana's hand, and said, "I was just joking. Diana, let's go shopping!"

Diana nodded slightly, not giving the earlier matter any further thought.

She had prepared to be out all day, knowing that women's shopping abilities shouldn't be underestimated.

But surprisingly, Sabrina's idea of shopping didn't involve much walking.

They just browsed casually, even stopping to watch a movie.

By the afternoon, Diana couldn't help but ask, "Sabrina, are you sure this is your plan for today?"

Sabrina felt a bit guilty at her question.

The main event was the evening party. If she tired Diana out now, how could they attend?

But it was almost time. Sabrina blinked and said, "Diana, actually, I want you to come with me to a birthday party. I don't have many friends here, so going alone feels really lonely. I can't decline, so I need your help."

Diana asked, "What about Noah? Can't he go with you?"
