Chapter 336 Let's Go Home
Eugene silently supported Charles, placing a hand on his back and giving him a reassuring pat.
"Hey, it's gonna be alright."
Nolan stood behind them, signaling the men in black to put the casket back the way it was.
The men exchanged glances, hesitating for a moment, but seeing Charles' condition, they reluctantly put the casket lid back on.
Once they left, two dark figures appeared in the cemetery.
Diana, with a solemn expression, held a bouquet of white lilies and gently placed them in front of her own gravestone.
She knelt down, touched the gravestone, and whispered, "I have fulfilled your wish. Rest in peace."
Dean also placed his flowers down.
Although he found this way of paying respects a bit strange, he felt it was right to thank her since Sophia had used the identity of "Diana."
"Thanks. Rest in peace."
After saying that, he turned his head, looking excited.
"Sophia, you're a genius, getting me to obtain the key to that ankle bracelet early on. Charles is a real nutcase, even going so far as to open the casket."
Diana lowered her eyes and nodded slightly.
She knew Charles too well. He wouldn't give up without seeing it for himself.
Even though the female corpse Dean found resembled her closely, Charles still came to open the casket.
Earlier, she and Dean had been hiding nearby, watching them dig up the grave, feeling uneasy.
Fortunately, Charles believed it. She was finally free.
Taking a deep breath, Diana savored the long-missed taste of freedom.
It was a pity she "died" so suddenly, without a chance to say goodbye to her friends.
She wondered how Evelyn would react to the news of her death. Would she cry a lot?
Diana stood up and smiled at Dean, "Let's go home."
Dean was stunned for a moment, his eyes sparkling like stars, then he happily exclaimed, "Yeah! Let's go home!"
Five years later.
At Evergreen City Airport, a delicate and adorable little boy with a backpack sat at the exit.
He was holding a tablet, displaying a map of Evergreen City.
Outside, a crowd of enthusiastic fans blocked the exit, creating a noisy scene.
"Stella! Stella!"
"Stella! We love you!"
"Stella, come out!"
The boy frowned impatiently and was about to move aside when someone pushed him from behind.
"Where did this kid come from? Move out of the way."
Benjamin Spencer stumbled and fell to the ground.
Although the fans at the exit weren't there to see him, they were surprised to see a child fall.
Some wanted to help Benjamin up, but with the big star Stella about to come out, the exit was blocked, and they couldn't get through.
Benjamin tried to push himself up, but the crowd's attention returned to the exit.
As Stella emerged, the sound of camera shutters filled the air.
At the same time, a sharp cry erupted from the side, "Ow! Lady, why did you push me?"
Stella paused, turning her head to see a child sitting on the ground.
Benjamin's lips quivered, tears hanging on his cheeks. He looked even more pitiful as he cried, his cuteness amplified.
Even the photographers who were about to take pictures of Stella turned their cameras towards him.
Seeing the lack of reaction from the crowd, Benjamin raised his voice, "Lady! Why did you push me? Didn't your parents teach you to be polite?"
Actually, it was Stella's assistant who had pushed him, but Benjamin didn't care about that.
Assistants usually acted on their boss' orders, so if the assistant was rude, Stella couldn't be a good person either.
Benjamin's voice reached everyone's ears, and the crowd's expressions changed as they turned their cameras towards Stella.
Stella had always been known for her beauty since her debut. She had big, innocent eyes, long lashes, and a perfect figure that captivated both men and women.
Her public image was that of a "gentle beauty," so being questioned by Benjamin made her panic.
With so many cameras on her, she had to salvage the situation.
Feigning surprise, Stella covered her mouth and took a few steps forward, crouching down to meet Benjamin's eyes.
"Oh my gosh, sweetheart, did you fall? I didn't see you from behind. Did you slip? Are you hurt? Let me see."
Her words seemed caring but were actually very leading.
Most kids would probably nod along with her.
That way, everyone would think Benjamin fell on his own. Kids often had wild imaginations and got things wrong.
But Benjamin wasn't buying it. He wiped his tears and pouted, "Lady, why don't you apologize for bumping into me?"
The camera shutters continued to click.
Whispers spread through the crowd.
"Did Stella bump into him? Shouldn't she help him up?"
"Is this fake? Where are this kid's parents?"
Stella's hands, hidden in her sleeves, stiffened.
She cursed inwardly, 'Where did this kid come from? He won't even get up when I try to help him! And he keeps saying I pushed him, ruining my image!'
Despite her anger, Stella maintained her composure as a public figure, forcing a smile and insisting, "Sweetheart, I didn't push you. But if you're hurt, I can help you up."
Her eyes were gentle, her smile sweet, and her fans felt like they were basking in sunlight, completely charmed.
They couldn't help but exclaim.
"Stella is an angel, so kind!"
"Whose brat is this? Why won't he let it go? Where are his parents?"
"Stella! Don't worry, we'll always support you."
"Lady, if you didn't push me, then how did I fall? Since you say that, let's call the police and check the surveillance footage."
Benjamin looked up, his young face unusually serious.
As soon as he spoke, Stella's assistant, who had been hiding behind her, froze.
In this situation, he should step in, but he was the one who pushed Benjamin.
He thought Benjamin was just an ordinary kid, not expecting him to be so persistent.
The Rainbow Federation had strict laws protecting minors. That push could get him in trouble with the police.
"What? Afraid?"
Benjamin continued to provoke, his face full of disdain.
Stella struggled to maintain her expression, her heart burning with anger. 'Whose kid is this? I'm a public figure; how can I let him threaten me?'
Meanwhile, the fans exchanged glances and quickly started criticizing Benjamin.
"Whose brat is this? Don't his parents care?"
"The lady next to you is a big star. Even if you want to get close to a pretty lady, you can't say things like that."
"Is this a setup by someone who hates Stella? What bad luck. Where are the staff? Get this kid out of here!"
The crowd's chatter blamed Benjamin.
Benjamin remained unfazed, continuing, "Sure, call the staff. Let's check the surveillance footage."
