Chapter 441 You're Crazy!
Diana was startled by his words, clutching the hem of her shirt in silence.
"But..."
Charles' mood shifted dramatically, and he forced a smile that looked more like a grimace, making anyone who saw it feel a pang of sadness.
"The thought of you actually being dead made me even more miserable. Thank goodness you're still alive."
His eyes were red, and he was on the verge of breaking down, a stark contrast to his usual cold demeanor.
After a moment, he opened his arms to Diana, his tone coaxing, "Come here, come to me."
Diana stood still, silently watching him.
After all their entanglements, this was the first time Charles had left her feeling so helpless.
What was he doing?
He had just said so much, and although it sounded like he was throwing a tantrum, every word was filled with grievance and unwillingness.
He said "love," but to Diana, she couldn't feel it. All she felt was desire and control, not love.
Moreover, she could clearly sense that Charles was not in his right mind.
Considering what he had said, he was probably truly losing it. She didn't want to get tangled up in a discussion about love with someone who was having a breakdown.
Diana took a half step back, one hand on the doorknob, trying to keep her voice calm.
"Charles, it's over between us. You can consider me dead. I won't affect you. I'll leave right away."
Before she could finish her sentence, Charles' expression changed. The vulnerability and stubbornness on his face were replaced by a sinister look. He lowered his hands, his gaze cold as a snake's.
He took a few steps to stand in front of Diana.
As he got closer, her heart sank. She pretended to be calm and met his gaze, but her arms were crossed defensively.
She needed to say something to stabilize the situation.
During the time Diana had been awake, the occasional flashes of lightning outside had given her a glimpse of the surroundings.
There were many trees and no lights, nothing like the Percy Mansion, and certainly not like the city.
In such a remote place, even if Charles killed her and disposed of the body, no one would find out.
Thinking of this, her eyelashes trembled, and her pink lips moved slightly, her voice low, "Charles, you..."
Before she could finish, her chin was lifted, and his face loomed large in front of her. His thin lips covered hers, swallowing all the words she wanted to say.
He kissed her fiercely, his tongue grinding against her teeth, forcing its way in and entwining with hers, kissing her with abandon.
Diana struggled violently, hitting his head in an attempt to push him away. Her heart sank, and she bit down hard.
The taste of blood spread in her mouth, and the next second, tears of pain welled up in her eyes.
Charles bit back, as if punishing her.
He didn't care that the wound was still bleeding; he deliberately licked and sucked at it, his tongue brushing against the inside of her mouth, the sensation spreading through her body.
They were so close that the room, which had been at a constant temperature, now felt stifling.
The strap of Diana's nightgown slipped off, revealing a large expanse of white skin and her chest.
As he kissed her, his hands roamed, sliding up her dress. When he reached her breast, he squeezed it lightly.
She was already sensitive, and his touch made her body tingle all over.
But her rationality remained. She quickly found an opportunity, gasping for breath, and slapped him across the face.
It wasn't a hard slap, and it landed awkwardly, but it still made his head turn.
"If you won't come to me, then I'll just have to come to you."
Charles wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, his words infuriating. He leaned in to kiss her again, but Diana pushed him away forcefully. "You're crazy! A rapist! This is assault!"
He stumbled back a step, looking at the red-eyed, disheveled Diana. He felt a rush of blood, and his lower body ached with arousal.
Despite her insults, he wasn't angry. Instead, he ran a hand through his hair, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"We're married. Don't you want to have sex? Every time I see you, my dick hurts from how hard it gets. I can't sleep."
Listening to his shameless words, Diana adjusted her nightgown and cursed, "If your dick hurts, cut it off. If you can't sleep, just die."
She had no intention of sleeping with him. He was insane, and his mind was filled with filth.
"Such a cruel heart." Charles clutched his chest as if her words had truly hurt him, but the next second, he lunged at her.
Diana realized what was happening and ran.
But the room was too large, with no exit. She was like a sheep being hunted, trying to find obstacles to hide behind.
Charles found it amusing, even deliberately giving her a chance to run when he was about to catch her.
Soon, Diana was exhausted. She leaned against the back of the couch, gasping for breath, clutching a pillow to cover herself.
As for Charles, he sat in a chair, watching her breathe heavily, a satisfied smile on his face. Diana felt a surge of anger.
She raised her voice, "Charles, are you done yet? It's been years. I never stopped you from getting married. Why don't you find new love? Why are you still clinging to me, a dead person?"
Charles raised an eyebrow. He wasn't angry, just excited. He answered her questions honestly and quickly, "I canceled the engagement. You're back. Why would I marry someone else? You don't want me to get married, do you? Otherwise, why would you come back now?"
A barrage of questions left Diana's mind reeling. She was about to curse him when she saw Charles clutch his chest, looking satisfied.
"You stole my heart. How can you say such things?"
Diana dry-heaved, disgusted by his sincere confession. She felt like the man in front of her wasn't Charles anymore, but someone wearing his skin, like Eugene. It was too much.
"Whoever you are, get out of Charles' body."
She'd rather fight him than listen to such nauseating words.
"You know who I am. After today, we'll be legally married. I can do whatever I want."
Suddenly, Charles stood up and slowly walked toward her.
Diana was stunned by his words. She was about to ask when he seemed to lose himself in his thoughts, saying, "What should we do? Let's have another child. We agreed to have more children. This time, no one will hurt our child. If it's a boy, we'll name him..."
He continued to ramble as he approached.
Diana felt her mind go blank, forced to endure his emotional outpouring.
A crazy Charles was so annoying!
Diana moved to the side, her voice cold, "There will never be anything between us again. If I could, I wouldn't even want to see your face in the financial papers. Charles, stop deluding yourself!"
