Chapter 178 Diana's Punishment

Hearing this, Eugene got up and started loosening his tie and shirt. Amid the crowd's cheers, he stripped off his upper body.

He'd been hitting the gym for years, and even though his skin was smooth, he didn't look weak. His abs were impressive, but his strong chest muscles and pink nipples stole the show.

Eugene tossed his clothes aside and said, "Alright, let's keep going."

The waiter quickly gathered the cards, shuffled them, and dealt again.

Everyone knew each other, and with Eugene occasionally spicing things up, the game got more interesting.

In the next few rounds, Diana neither drew the Joker nor got picked for a punishment. She seemed a bit out of place in the lively atmosphere.

Diana yawned slightly. She thought she might run into some tough folks at this party, but they only mocked her a few times. It was kind of boring.

But Charlotte, not far away, noticed her indifferent attitude.

The game was supposed to punish Diana, but she kept dodging the Joker! If she missed this chance, there wouldn't be another.

Soon, a new round started.

When it was Charlotte's turn, she glanced at the waiter and gave a signal.

The waiter blinked and handed her the cards to choose from. One card stood out a bit more than the others. Charlotte smirked and quickly picked it.

The girl next to her lit up, "Charlotte, you got the Joker. Lucky you!"

Charlotte placed the Joker face down on the table, her eyes locked on Diana.

The dealing order started from Diana's side, and since the waiter cheated to give her the Joker, Charlotte knew Diana's number.

It was the Ace of Hearts.

After the cards were dealt, someone in the crowd asked, "Who got the Joker?"

Charlotte threw her card on the table, "I got the Joker, so let's do something fun!"

She dragged out her words, looking around as if deciding whom to choose.

The next second, she continued, "Let's have number 1 take the challenge: go to the door of the private room and kiss the first creature that passes by."

The crowd started buzzing.

"Charlotte, you're a party animal! A creature? So, it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman? Or even if someone brought a pet dog, they'd have to kiss it too. Oh my god, that's gross."

Even though they said this, their eyes were full of mischief as they checked the cards around them to see who the unlucky one was.

But after looking around, no one stepped forward.

Eugene also threw out his Nine of Hearts, raised his glass, and took a sip, "Not me."

Like the others, he watched with interest.

As the numbers were gradually revealed, Eugene's gaze fell on the card Diana had placed face down on the table.

A sense of unease hit him. Could it be that Diana got number 1?

For a moment, all eyes were on the card on the table.

Someone with a mischievous streak raised their voice, urging, "Ms. Spencer, hurry up and show your card. You're the only one left."

Diana ignored the voices around her and looked across at Charlotte.

Sure enough, she saw the gloating expression on Charlotte's face.

A smile suddenly curved on Diana's lips. This game had indeed become interesting.

She reached out and turned over her card. It was the Ace of Hearts.

"Ms. Spencer, you're so lucky! So, will you accept the punishment?"

Whistles and laughter filled the air around Diana.

Charlotte's eyes flashed with malice as she mocked, "So, you're number 1. Ms. Spencer, hurry up and go."

Diana looked up at her from the sofa, but she didn't move.

Eugene, sitting next to her, tugged at her sleeve. He wasn't worried about Diana being at a disadvantage but was afraid she might cause trouble, and he would have to clean up the mess.

Charlotte saw his actions clearly. Her aim was to humiliate Diana and turn her into the laughingstock of the entire Evergreen City's high society.

Charlotte continued to mock. "Ms. Spencer, why aren't you going? Are you scared?"

She wanted to see Diana's face flushed with anger or shame.

But Diana slowly stood up, her expression calm, as if she wasn't the one being punished.

The crowd's curiosity peaked as she stood. What would Diana do? Would she accept the punishment or refuse? They were more interested in seeing something exciting than the latter.

Without Charlotte saying a word, someone spoke up, "Ms. Spencer, everyone else who was called accepted their punishment. You wouldn't want to back out, would you?"

"Yeah, that's right," another voice chimed in, echoing the sentiment.

A few words blocked Diana's retreat, leaving her in a dilemma.

"Kiss the first creature I encounter?" she asked, her face calm, as if confirming the punishment.

The crowd fell silent, their eyes on Charlotte.

Seeing Diana compromise, Charlotte's smile widened, "Yes, Ms. Spencer, can you do it?"

Before Diana could answer, three voices rang out simultaneously. "No."

Eugene looked up and saw that besides himself, the two bodyguards Diana had brought also spoke up to stop her.

Jett had been standing in the shadows, listening to the commotion. When he realized the nature of the punishment, he thought Diana would refuse. But seeing her eager expression, he couldn't believe it.

Being unfaithful to Charles was something Jett couldn't even imagine, so he walked up behind Diana and whispered, "Ms. Spencer, you can refuse if you don't want to do it."

Diana lifted her chin, her expression calm, but her words were shocking, "I actually want to do it. It's just a kiss."

She pulled her sleeve from Eugene's hand, her eyes locking onto his with a defiant glint, as if to say, 'How about that? This is what you get for insisting I come.'

As she stepped away from the sofa, Jett blocked her path, his tone pleading. "Ms. Spencer, let's go back. It's too noisy here, not good for your health."

Because the music was loud, the people behind couldn't hear what she was saying.

Diana looked up, her tone calm, "Instead of stopping me, why don't you go out and clear the area?"

Her words gave the bodyguards an idea. Instead of blocking Diana and making it difficult for her, they should go out and clear the way for her.

With that thought, the two bodyguards exchanged a glance and quickly left the room.

Diana waited a moment, giving the bodyguards enough time before pulling the door open.

The crowd turned, staring at the door, guessing who would pass by first.

"Could it be a waiter? Kissing a waiter would be exciting too," one person whispered with a mischievous grin.

"I suddenly thought, what if a cockroach crawls by? Would she have to kiss it?" another voiced their concern, their nose wrinkling in disgust.

"Oh my god, that's even more disgusting than kissing a dog," someone else chimed in, shaking their head in disbelief.

Some men stared at Diana's back, their thoughts wandering.

"Diana has really become much prettier. Is that face completely natural? It's so delicate."

The man next to him nodded, as if remembering something, and suddenly laughed, lowering his voice, "What if I sneak out the back door and walk past the front? Would she have to kiss me?"

"You're really something. Go for it!"

The man, egged on by his friends, was about to get up when Eugene grabbed his arm.
