Chapter 324 Banquet

Charles was momentarily taken aback by her words, but instead of getting angry, he found it amusing.

At least it was better than her recent disinterest in everything.

He put on his clothes and turned around, saying, "I messed up last night. You weren't happy, so I'll crash in my own room tonight."

Diana paused, her eyes showing a hint of surprise as they landed on him.

Charles actually admitted he was wrong?

Her expression softened slightly, but she didn't respond and continued eating her breakfast.

The food Bronte brought was only enough for Diana, and she had no intention of sharing it with Charles.

After a moment of silence between them, there was a knock on the door.

"Mr. Percy, Ms. Spencer, I've brought breakfast."

Nolan stood outside, pushing a food cart.

The food on it was more lavish than what Diana was eating.

Although he had only gone in to deliver clothes earlier, he understood that the relationship between Charles and Diana had changed significantly.

As an assistant, he should think from Charles' perspective and create more opportunities for them to be alone together.

"Come in."

Charles' voice came from inside, and Nolan entered upon hearing it.

He pushed the cart to the table and naturally laid out the food.

"Mr. Percy, enjoy your meal."

With that, he left, not wanting to disturb their meal.

Charles noticed Nolan's intention and couldn't help but smile slightly before saying, "Eating face-to-face shouldn't break your rules, right?"

Diana knew he said that on purpose and looked up, saying, "If you want to eat, go ahead. It's none of my business."

As she spoke, she quickened her eating pace. By the time Charles took his first bite, she had already finished.

Diana stood up and glanced at the door. She wanted to leave or have Charles leave so she could discuss the next plan with Dean.

But even after he finished eating, Charles showed no intention of leaving.

"Don't you have work to do?"

Diana sat on the bed, unable to hold back her question.

She intended to get him to leave.

But to Charles, her words had a different meaning.

He closed the book he was holding and said, "I'm here to keep you company. Work can wait."

There was an indescribable depth in his eyes as he said this.

Diana turned her head away, deciding not to talk to this strange man anymore.

But even if Charles wasn't working, he still needed to socialize.

They hadn't been together for long when he received a phone call.

After the call, he looked hesitant as he glanced at Diana.

After all, he had just said he would stay with her, and now he had to leave. It was awkward.

Diana noticed his hesitation and lay back on the bed, saying, "Go ahead, I need to catch up on sleep."

"I'll have Bronte stay with you. Let me know if you need anything."

"Okay." Diana closed her eyes and replied softly.

She waited until the door closed and the room was quiet before slowly opening her eyes.

Bronte had been anxiously waiting outside. When Charles suddenly came out, she was almost scared to death.

"Mr. Percy, I didn't mean to, I didn't know..."

Before she could finish, Charles interrupted her apology, "Go in and take care of her. Don't do anything unnecessary."

Bronte's face froze, then she realized he wasn't blaming her.

The weight lifted from her heart, and she nodded repeatedly, "Yes, Mr. Percy, I'll take good care of Ms. Spencer."

After Charles left, she straightened up and entered the room.

Inside, Diana was texting with Dean.

Last night, Clara had been lurking outside the door. If Charles hadn't been there, something might have happened to her.

This was why Diana tolerated him sleeping beside her.

Dean: [Maybe we should just call the cops and have Clara arrested. This is too dangerous.]

Dean had hacked into the ship's surveillance system last night and was terrified.

But Diana seemed completely unfazed by the danger.

On one side was Charles, and on the other was Clara. What should they do?

Diana, however, was much calmer than he was.

She replied: [I'm fine, aren't I? Clara's no match for me. Don't forget, our real opponent is Charles.]

Dean looked worried and suggested: [But Charles isn't a threat to your life right now. Clara is. This is too dangerous. I can't let you take this risk alone.]

Dean was right. Last night, Charles had practically saved her life.

She almost asked him to stay again tonight.

But after thinking it over, she felt there had to be a perfect solution.

Diana bit her lip and replied: [Trust me, I don't take risks without a plan. Just keep me updated on her movements.]

She added: [If you want to back out now, that's fine too.]

Dean wanted to persuade her further, but her threat made him nervous.

Dean: [Sophia! How can you say that? My loyalty to you is unwavering! Fine, I won't try to stop you. I'll help you!]

The door suddenly opened, and Diana quickly deleted the chat history.

Bronte's tentative voice came from the doorway, "Ms. Spencer, are you asleep?"

Diana's expression softened, and she carefully put down her phone, closing her eyes without responding.

Bronte, seeing no response, sighed in relief and muttered, "Good, she's asleep."

She then sat on the couch, staring at the bed.

Gradually, she too became drowsy, propping her head with one hand and nodding off.

Diana had been pretending to sleep, but with her eyes closed, she started to feel sleepy for real.

The two of them ended up napping in the room.

Around noon, they were awakened by a knock on the door.

Bronte's head jerked, nearly hitting the table.

She quickly regained her composure, slapped her face lightly, and went to open the door.

Four maids in uniforms stood outside, holding various items and smiling.

"Hello, we're here on Mr. Percy's orders to see Ms. Spencer."

Bronte was taken aback by their presence and stepped aside to let them in.

The lead maid smiled and led the group to the bed.

Diana, already awake, squinted at the unfamiliar faces.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Spencer. Did you sleep well?" the lead maid asked, her tone cheerful.

Diana, realizing she didn't know them, immediately put on a stern face, "Who are you? I don't need any services. Leave now!"

The maid, unfazed by her attitude, maintained her sweet smile and introduced herself.

"Ms. Spencer, we're from Glamour Haven Studio. Mr. Percy hired us to style you. Don't worry, you're already beautiful, and we'll make you even more radiant."
