Chapter 203 Repatriation
The Percy Manor.
Elise woke up early, humming a tune. It was off-key and kind of annoying, but you could tell she was in a great mood.
Today, her son Zachary was coming back, and she wanted to look her best to welcome him at the airport.
Charles never saw it coming that this deal with Celestria and Dawn Innovations Group would end up benefiting Zachary.
Poor Claire, just one business trip with Charles, and she spilled the beans to Elise.
Claire's efforts made it possible for the shareholders' meeting to decide to bring Zachary back.
"Ralph," Elise held up two dresses, one purple and one green, comparing them in the mirror, clearly torn.
"Yes, Mrs. Percy, I'm here."
"Which color do you think is better? I can't decide."
The Percy Manor's butler, Ralph Cook, smiled and pointed to the purple dress, saying, "Purple suits you best, Mrs. Percy. It's very charming."
Elise beamed at the compliment, hung the green dress back, and took the purple one to the dressing room.
"I need to hurry; Zachary should be landing soon."
After changing, she sat in front of the vanity to put on her earrings.
For some reason, one of her usual earrings was missing.
"What happened?" Elise muttered, then chose a new pair.
Just as she was putting them on, Ralph suddenly knocked on the door urgently, holding a phone.
Startled, her hand slipped, and she pricked her earlobe, causing it to bleed.
Elise's eyes widened, one hand momentarily frozen.
Outside the door, Ralph was still shouting, "Mrs. Percy! Something's wrong!"
Elise snapped back to reality, grabbed a tissue to press against her earlobe, and gritted her teeth, "Come in!"
Ralph immediately pushed the door open. Seeing her expression, he knew Elise was unhappy and quickly got to the point.
"The shareholders' meeting called to say that Zachary has been deported again. And our people in the shareholders' meeting have been completely removed by Charles."
He handed the phone over as he finished speaking.
"What?" Elise was shocked, her chest heaving. "How is that possible? Zachary is already back in the country. That bastard Charles is still abroad, isn't he?"
She felt a blockage in her chest, reached for the phone, and saw it was from her contact in the shareholders' meeting.
The man's voice was anxious and pleading, "Mrs. Percy, you have to save me! Charles has gone mad. Three shareholders, including me, have been removed by him. What am I supposed to do? I have a family to support! Mrs. Percy, help!"
Claire mentioned that Charles was supposed to return tomorrow, so what caused this sudden change?
The man on the other end was still wailing, making her irritable.
"Enough! Go help Zachary, don't stay in the Rainbow Federation. I'll have everything arranged."
"Mrs. Percy, thank you."
Elise hung up the phone with a calm expression, sitting silently by the vanity.
The room was eerily quiet. Ralph stood by, unable to help but speak, "Mrs. Percy, please calm down."
These words seemed to be a trigger. Elise suddenly threw the phone, smashing it against the full-length mirror.
The sound of shattering glass was sharp and jarring, making his heart skip a beat.
The phone fell to the ground, broken into pieces.
"How can I calm down! Go kill Charles, and then I'll be calm!" Elise said fiercely.
Ralph lowered his head, trembling, not daring to speak.
Elise's crimson nails dug into her palms. Still not satisfied, she swept everything off the vanity onto the floor.
She panted heavily, and the missing earring rolled out from some corner, standing out among the mess.
Elise suddenly smiled, picking it up. Looking at the earring, she murmured, "Found you."
Her laughter grew louder, becoming unsettling.
Just as Ralph was about to break, Elise's eyes turned cold, and she asked, "Have you found out about that Diana?"
Ralph shuddered, snapping back to reality. "Yes, but she always has bodyguards with her. It's difficult to get close."
Elise gently placed the earring back on the dresser, making a slight clinking sound.
"So, we have to wait until the child is born." Her tone paused, then she said cruelly, "Since Charles wants to separate us, he shouldn't expect to keep this child. If necessary, kill them all."
In the president's office of the Percy Group.
After the shareholders' meeting, the entire company fell into silence.
Charles's actions of removing three senior shareholders were still fresh in everyone's minds.
These people really brought it upon themselves, daring to make such important decisions without Charles.
Nolan stood beside him, looking hesitant.
Charles hadn't slept all night, his eyes bloodshot. After the shareholders' meeting, he had been reviewing documents and contracts.
This was the fifth time he had rubbed his temples, likely due to a headache.
"Mr. Percy, you should rest in the back. I'll handle the documents." Nolan couldn't help but suggest.
He had slept on the plane and felt refreshed, much more energetic than Charles.
Charles paused, then suddenly asked, "Did you get the necklace?"
Nolan looked up, thinking, 'Is this the time to ask about the necklace? Charles, you look like you're about to collapse.'
"Yes, I got it."
Hearing this, Charles put down the documents, put on his coat, and walked out.
"Mr. Percy, where are you going?" Nolan asked curiously.
"You said you'd handle the documents, so I'm going to rest." Charles didn't look back, adding, "Going home to rest."
As the door closed, Charles's figure disappeared.
Nolan wanted to slap himself. He thought, 'Why did I have to speak up? Now there's even more work!'
But after a moment, he resigned himself to organizing the documents, delegating some less important ones to Abigail.
Good colleagues should share the burden.
Meanwhile, Charles called for a driver and headed back to The Percy Mansion.
Nolan was right; his head was throbbing, and his stomach was burning.
But his mind was still active, too tired to sleep.
It felt like a string was tightly wound, preventing him from relaxing.
He had handled more difficult and complex matters before.
Why did he feel so tired today?
He sat in the back seat, resting his eyes, but the pain in his forehead kept his brows furrowed.
When the car finally pulled into The Percy Mansion, Jacob was waiting at the door.
"Mr. Percy, welcome back. It must have been a tiring journey."
Charles stepped out of the car, masking any unnecessary emotions, and just nodded.
The house was very quiet, with the servants performing their duties, greeting him softly as he entered.
The vases had fresh flowers, of an unknown variety, but their scent was refreshing.
The scene was flawless, but it was too quiet.
Charles glanced at the clock in the living room; it was almost 1 PM.
Diana was still asleep? Even if pregnant women were prone to sleep, this was excessive.
He cleared his throat, his voice cold, "Where is she?"
